those are pretty good lights. I owned a couple of chinese moving heads before, the only downside is that there is no way to control the pan and tilt range on the unit without DMX. This means the light will spin all the way around and half the time will point the beams behind towards you, or the wall behind you. Great if you use DMX or post them on the speaker pole. @@KrisSzanto I use my lights about 3-4 times a month, it was about 6 months into it when I saw the color wheel move over. I tried to adjust but keeps coming back to two colors.
Thank you for reviewing this Amazing light. I got a pair of these in 2017 and mostly use them in Master/slave mode, also have tried a 512 dmx controller. They have been set-up in every possible way. The best results being flat on table or on speaker stands like you have them. The worst for Me has been upside down on a T-stand. They seem to just point to the ground or the wall behind me, i think better DMX knowledge on my part could probably fix that. So after 3 yrs. of normal use only one has a slight blur to the gobo, the other is perfect.
Hey, thanks for the feedback and for watching. I am happy to hear of your good experience. And yes... I would lean you into more dmx if you do alot of lighting. Especially software based because you can really narrow the range you want them to work in. 👍
I’m very interested in picking up a pair of these moving head lights. But I believe 99% of the time the application I would want to use them in would be solid colors, not hobos, stationary and moving. Would you recommend these for that use?
If you are to control them through dmx the y would work like that. Depends on the effect you are looking for. There are 8 colors and the beam/spot effect is pretty good.
The beam might be kind of tight. About 6ft circle at 30ft. At 17ft I believe I measured around 47". If that size spot would work for you it will also depend how bright you want someone, it won't be super bright but would brighten someone up. Will also depend how dark the venue is. Maybe I will do a short clip on it.
Im not sure which ones I have at this point, just look up O clamps in lighting or music. You just want to verify the diameter of your speaker poles or light stand. Thanks for watching and commenting.
Hi do ever use the dmx512 to plug the cable into the moving head because everytime when i plug it in its not doing anything to control it its still nothing.
You can adjust the mic sensitivity... you can increase or limit the amount of sound entering the device. This would theoretically allow you to dial in the amount of sound the mover hears so that it will only move during a louder part of a song like the kick drum or loud beat. Most fixtures have this ability, but in my opinion none of them work great. US price is now showing $154.90 from US warehouse.
@angelmarley2253 Thanks for watching. Yeah, a lot has changed in 4 years. It's still a good deal. 🤷♂️
They now go for 150ish. Gues the price went up a bit ...
Well... that was a long time ago. Lol. Thanks for watching and commenting. 🤷♂️ Still a good value.
I got 2 for $60.89 each on eBay .
Wow, that's an awesome deal
the led is about 13 watt
It is listed at a 25 watt led I believe.
@@KrisSzanto i took it apart and measured it
Don't deal with TomTop. I purchased two of these lights for $79 each. One of them started smoking when I plugged it in. After two weeks of communication, a request for photos of the item, then a video of it not working; TomTop is only offering me $20 for what they call "My Loss'. The company seems to be based outside of the US so I might be out of luck.
I am really sorry to hear this. I have not had any problems to date. Let me try to reach out to someone.
Dang out of stock ☹
Well they’re $150.00 now.
Still a good deal at 150. I haven't heard any sales on them lately. Thinking shipping cost got so crazy that they cant do it.
The tomtop website has the worst reviews I have ever seen and every legitimate review site says it is a scam.........
Hi Angel. I am not sure what reviews you are speaking about from "legitamate sites"? What do they say is a scam? (please share) I live in the US and I have had nothing but good luck with purchasing items from there. Everything delivered quicker than I expected and in great condition. Are there items that come from that huge site with bad reviews? I am sure that there are, just like any other. Plenty of bad reviews on Amazon too. If I ever have a bad experience purchasing gear I will be sharing it.
DJ Kris Szanto I took your word and ordered four gobos from TomTop via PayPal and I will see how and when they arrive... where’s the best place to buy dmx cable so I can hook them up in master slave mode?
@@AOAvina which lights did you buy? Some of the lights have a small dmx cable with them... some do not. I would wait to see. As far as the best place to get them I am not sure. I often price shop so depnding on length you want and how fast you want them, I would just search online. They tend to last so I have not purchased any in years, last time I ordered many was from NLFXpro.com.
DJ Kris Szanto I got this lixada 8 gobo rgbw-512 mini moving head led stage light
Also, how long does it take them to process?
These are no longer “under $100”….. they are $154.00
It happens.
Hi, what DMX program did you use to control the lights and did you use then under U 'King or Stage Lighting?
Thanks for watching. I typically use "eclipse" by Blizzard lighting. I manually entered the info from the manual, creating the profile myself.
