- Wolves made the trip to Anfield in September 1972, knowing that they had only beaten Liverpool once in the last 15 meetings between the sides. The Reds meanwhile were looking to bounce back from successive league defeats to Leicester and Derby. The game itself was an entertaining affair, with four goals scored in the final quarter of an hour. Gerry Harrison is the commentator.

brilliant player Emlyn
Indeed. Why I'm a LFC supporter.
Liverpool. 1.Clemence. 2.Lawler. 3.Lindsay. 4.Smith. 5.Lloyd.6.Hughes.7.Keegan.8.Cormack 9.Heighway. 10.Toshack 11.Callaghan.
That's quite a team, and managed by Shanks & Paisley. I'd say this was the season Liverpool set the template for their domination of English football.
My favourite Liverpool team ever.
@@ianlamb2123 I often say that the team that won the European Cup in 1977 was the best team that Liverpool ever put on the park. That would mean leaving out Sir Kenny. Imagine a team that had both.
@@vordman Agreed.
Great pen from Smith! Some of these players look really old compared to today's players. T Smith should have been actor with his looks. Liked the look of K Hibbitt too.
Gerry Harrison normally did games involving teams playing in the Anglia region.
He was covering for Granada's Gerald Sinstadt, who was at the Munich Olympics.
Wonderful memories- WWFC
@jason78969 Agree - Gerry Harrison was a very good commentator who commentated on all World Cups from 1970 to 1990. Went on to bigger and better things with Trans World International I believe when ITV lost the top flight football contract in 1992.
Gerry Harrison commentated for matches for Anglia Television and he was part of the ITV World Cup team 70, 74, 78, 82, 86 and 90
I love see goalkeepers back in these days not wearing gloves. Could you imagine goalkeepers right now do it? Don't think so.
Great game .
Remember being taken to this
Keegan drove that team.
Yep, he was everywhere. Fans deliberate about Dalgleish & Gerrard being Liverpool's best player, I'd put Keegan above both as he did it in Europe too with Hamburg. Far more famous on the continent than Kenny & Stevie G.
Did Keegan hold a p.s.v. licence?
@@Keithbarber Why not? Any driving licence, as long as it won games of football.
Could you imagine the referee sending off a Liverpool player? Me neither.
Can you imagine Wolves blowing a 2-0 lead in a FA Cup Semi Final? Me neither.
