The late tackle by Highway on Mills at 1:40...ha ha. Mills just gets up and Highway says alright mate. Today the player would be rolling around and his team mates surrounding the Ref..oh how times have changed.
Thanks for this Adrian-fine game between two good sides. Thanks for providing these clips of Liverpool at their best. Fine workmanlike performance as always by Keegan!
Recollect coming up from Ipswich as a kid with my Dad - first away game - getting off the train at Lime Street Station and then dragooned onto a rammed full bus to Anfield. For some reason I can still hear remember seagulls squawking in the split second of silence before the pre-match ynwa. Keegan - Liverpools first great no.7 . My team weren't too bad back then either.
Thank you so much. i love you have no idea what this means to me! I never thought I'd see this again. I was nearly 9 and climbed over to the Kop for the first time
Those were the days! Footballers whose names you could pronounce, Bay City Rollers, Scalextric, Choppers etc.... Crap weren't they? No! Actually, I long to relive those days of my childhood!
This is football in a time where players were honest, tough and respected each other and officials. No rolling around or going down with just a touch. It seems the more money that’s gone into the game makes the sport weaker and more dishonest. Oh for the simpler times!
I don't know how those guy wore those crotch hugger shorts. I remember when I played in high school in the early 90's the junior varsity squad got the old varsity kits from the early 80's and the shorts were like that. We wore them for one game and all had massive wedgies the whole game and scrapped them and all bought our own shorts.
Men were men back then and I remember the soccer world rocking with laughter when the pretty boys of Chelsea took to the field all wearing gloves. It just has to be on UA-cam somewhere and Iam off to find it!
Keegan was so brave, heart of a lion. What a player he was!
Keegan, my hero when I grew up. So sad when he left the club . YNWA!

There were some meaty challenges in those days.
I think you mean Heighway mate 😄.
It's hard to remember that
Ipswich were that good.
And i am come from Colchester. 🤔
Heighway was unbelievable
Keegan....the most underated playerin English history - had he played for the beloveds (Utd) he would have been lauded!
What has become of our great game. No pissing around, just playing the game.
Great upload. Playing against Steve Heighway must have been an absolute bloody nightmare.

Thank you Adrian! I'm Liverpool suporter from 1972. Gold times, gold teams, but Keegan WAS REALLY THE BEST. Much stronger than Maradona. Or Platini.
won everything at Liverpool, Keegan, Brilliant times with him The Kop and Shankly.
Keegan and Toshack. Lethal one two punch like no other
Those immortal words: "Keegan, Toshack, one-nil!" Or indeed vice versa.
From a time when men played football not the numptys of today's game.
Keeper without gloves :)
When was soccer ever played by men? 😅😂😂😂

But weren't they SMALL? One forgets just how diddy they were.
aw i used to love keegan!what a player!
damn what a crowd.
Thanks for these memories mate!
Gigantic off-side on the first goal
Even in slow motion that penalty was fast.
When football was football
I wish people wouldn't put the score of these old matches in the title of these videos.
Even the goalkeepers didn't wear gloves in those days
Strikers don't play as poachers today. Everything is danced in like being a disco. Tough hard match.
I was 14 years old and a crazy fan of Premier league.
There was no Premier League back then. Only Division's 1,2,3 and 4! What a pity that we cannot return to those happier times.
Geoff Hammond tortured by Heighway. Should have taken his case to Amnesty International!
A tune when players could really head the ball. And it like a lump of lead!
Ade, would it be possible, if you can show a youthful Gerald Sinstadt reporting on Liverpool games for ITV's World of Sport such as this one?

jealousy because he played for Liverpool in their golden era
All English players, great league, no tattoos.
Apart from the Irish and Welsh of course!
@@franburke and Scots, tattoos weren't really a thing in sport till the 2000s
And didn't qualify for two world cups.
What was worse, the state of the pitch or the state of the haircuts ? 😂😂
Keegan's goal scoring record for Liverpool was shite.
When football was football.....
Both keepers! No gloves!!!😉 quality
the story!...
Leathal Keegan.
Keegan was awesome and then they replaced him with Dalglish!
Keegan 2nd goal was deflected
ése toshack fué entrenador del Barcelona?
Real Madrid
lapangan di inggris tahun 70an mirip sekali lapangan di indonesia era sekarang hahahaha
It was never a penalty.
Wtf goalkeepers not wearing gloves?

Great days when football was entertaining no taking the fucking knee ,pink boots and multi millionaire prima Donna's Ho yes no var.
KK my prefer soccer player of th past
Terrible refereeing. Even worse haircuts.
