Duosonics, mustangs, super sonics, music masters, jaguars ..wether with humbuckers, singles or both, phase switching or not, they're all just fun. I think it's the 24' scale. Leo had an amazing sense of design, and used the great players of the day for the feedback. I just love fender
Okay brother I have the arctic white maple fretboard one. I’ve gotten a lot of use out of. It was kind of my first axe. It’s in great condition but we may need to talk if you are seriously looking for one
wowww..you have a great tone, very clean and spotted playing...!! im totally agree with you, this guitars are amazing (i have a strat and also a Tele), so easy to love, I have the Duo Sonic HS 2022, the humbucker sounds fantastic, one of the best humbuckers I have played, the 3 way switch arrived falty, but in overall its a high quality instrument. I hope you can get one....this guitar its a keeper!!
I brought a duo-sonic because I was like "I should get serious, learn delicate little solos and get better". Instead, I end up hammering out punk songs with spanky riffs. It just makes you want to go nuts with it.
I had a surf green pearl duosonic a few years ago and absolutely loved it. The best guitar I've ever had by far. Had to sell it as needed some money and needed up buying a player Mustang a year later. It's nice but nowhere near as nice to play. The neck on the duosonic is so good. I'll definitely be getting another
Man this struggle is real, since I started making these videos I feel like I get a decent amount of comments from people saying that they had to sell guitars they loved because of financial stuff. It's almost like musicians aren't good at making money....
@Seventeen_Seconds I have that exact same one. It’s epic. The Duo Sonic has a slightly different body shape than the Mustang and to my eyes a more pleasing symmetry.
@@randrothify yeah they look similar at first glance but there's definitely a big difference when you sit and play them both. Duosonic to me felt better in every way, better built quality, neck was nicer, everything. Will definitely be buying another at some point, seen a nice canary yellow one.
Bought one in this exact color a week or so before this video came out. I feel the same as you. So nice. Happily surprised to see it. I also have a Blacktop Jaguar that I love.
I know this comes in two models single coils and hum bucker -do you know if the split function on the hb model sounds the same as the single coil model--thx
I really appreciate the offer, but in the post Christmas lack of money I can’t justify it. Also I guess you’re not in NZ which makes it harder… List it! I’ll find my duo sonic one day….
Not a stupid question, they are very similar! They have a slightly different body shape, and slightly different pickup placement is the main differences. I haven’t had the chance to play a mustang though, so maybe they’re even better!
Also most notably, although there's a variety of Mustang configurations nowadays, the traditional Mustang has a larger, more sophisticated bridge area not unlike Jags and Jazz, but with a unique vibrato system, whereas the Duosonic, as a slightly more stripped down student model, was a more rudimentary hard tail.
I have an HS Duo Sonic. Good, simple guitar. I don't love te smaller neck, but it's not bad. The eltronics and switch is bad quality tho. Not the worst, but changing it is recommended.
Played a couple of those. Definitely not anywhere near the best fender though...not even in the same neighborhood. Might be time for some time of 12 step program if you think that is the best fender they make.

I agree, the scale really just makes them such a joy to play 👌
What was that clean song you played at 2.20?
Duo Sonics are great. I've had a Squier Classic Vibe reissue since 2013, in desert sand, and it's honestly still my favourite guitar.
The desert sand looks really cool! But I'm still chasing that arctic white....
My dad bought me a duo sonic in 1965. It got stolen in 1971. I bought a new duo sonic hs in 2018. Great little guitar.
I play a DuoSonic, and I agree.
the quality of ur videos is amazing, keep it up
Thanks bro :)

Yeah man the electronics is the only think that lets it down for me 👌
Nice picking, sweet guitar!
Thanks!
Love 'em, I have two!
I have a Schecter C6 Deluxe, plays good, I just ordered a Sonic Mustang, the shorter scale and the single coils seem like worth a try.
Short scale stuff is so underrated I reckon, it's so much fun!
I brought a duo-sonic because I was like "I should get serious, learn delicate little solos and get better". Instead, I end up hammering out punk songs with spanky riffs. It just makes you want to go nuts with it.
That sounds like a great time though !
Bro if you like that you should get your hands on the Duo Sonic HS with the coil split you’ll really love that one too.
I'd love to give one a try!

Bro your playing is so damn sick
Thanks man, It's always nice to hear that because man I over analyse what random stuff I play in these videos soooo much hahaha
100% agree and they have routes that allow for a lot of configurations day one
We love to mod guitars here, so nice when companies make it easy to do so eh?
@@richardclarkmoore Indeed. DS really is optimal especially for someone who isn’t a fender diehard
I have one, what pups can I exchange to make it less bright?
You know what, I’m actually not sure. Just roll the tone knob down a bit and save yourself the trouble of swapping them I reckon!
Hey. I have a white duo sonic with a maple neck if you’re still looking for one. Was going to list it on reverb
I really appreciate the offer, but in the post Christmas lack of money I can’t justify it. Also I guess you’re not in NZ which makes it harder… List it! I’ll find my duo sonic one day….
JUST GOT ONE red and a maple neck very good guitar
Hell yeah!
this might be a stupid question, but what’s the difference between a mustang and a duo sonic?

@@MyriadOfHoops Yepps. I have a 2019 American Stang and it's great. Watching this video made me go find it and I'm playing it right now.
I love my shell pink Duo-Sonic.
I love my Telecasters a bit more though.
Shell pink sounds stunning! Relecaster sounds like what Scooby doo would play hahaha

Autocorrect is crazy.
I bought an orange one used for $400 the other day, it’s sick!
Sounds like a win to me!
Excellent review.
Thanks mate!

Yeah that makes sense, easy to swap out at least!
2:11 neck?
Neck!
That first tone was sick
Axe fx will do that to any guitar to be fair 😉

You can't convince me, I love these guitars! But hey, that doesn't; mean you have to love them too :)
There’s an old saying about opinions.
