You've actually reacted to Glenn Frey before without realising. He's was one of the founding members, co-lead singer and frontman for the Eagles. Beverley Hills Cop is one of Eddie Murphy's best movies. Really brought his humour to a wider audience outside of TV/stand up (48 Hours, his breakout movie which came out in '82, is also well worth watching). Beverley Hills Cop has an awesome soundtrack. Rob, re Arnold, maybe you're thinking about Kindergarten Cop?
Sorry, but most think Eddie Murphy's breakout movie was 1982's 48 Hours.
That is why I wish they would hit Wiki after watching and react to the facts of the song & artist.
@@deanackerman6664 Ya it was. I remember.
@@deanackerman6664 True. Completely forgot about that one. Great movie.
@@eurofritz4617 They really need to research the background of the song, and the singer. They seem to not know much about a lot of stuff. Almost embarrassing. Researching before the reaction to get perspective does not ruin the reaction. Beverly Hills Cop was a monster movie and and not not knowing that is bad. They problem is they do not know about will known facts. I have seen other reactors who really research the song when reacting to it which enhances the reaction and keeps them from saying really stupid things.
Beverly Hills Cop also had the Pointers Sisters song, "Neutron Dance"--which would be a nice Female Friday selection. The sequel in 1987 had Bob Seger's "Shakedown" as the main song on its soundtrack--which means that it would be another great song to react to soon.
Seems appropriate, Glen got his start in high school when Bob Seger took him under his wing.
Yes!! They definitely need to do "Neutron Dance".
yes yes yes! I love that song.
Don't forget "Axel F" either. That soundtrack had a lot of hits.
By Harold Faltermeyer! A classic!
Glenn was one of the lead singers from the Eagle's. This was from his solo career.✌❤
They'll never read this. They'll never know the Eagle connection, unless they stumble upon it by accident. They actually don't care about our music. This is a fake act.
@@BlackHatCinephile What are you.... 9?? 🙄
@@EchoRider515 Well said-these kids are well known for really loving our music! A troll on the music reactions? Sheesh!
@@sherylhenley1931 right??😆 I wasn't expecting to read a comment like that on this channel.
I agree with you, these channels are getting the younger people into music from our past & I'm diggin it! Jay & Amber are the ones I watch the most. 💕
Glenn regretted this.
Not only is Smuggler's Blues a great song, but it also gives a glimpse into the booming drug scene of the 80s. You can't go wrong with Glenn Frey. He was a pretty good actor too.
As many have said Glenn was a founding member and lead vocalist of The Eagles..RIP 🙏🏼 can you please react to “New Kid In Town” by The Eagles, it’s one my favorites and it’s vocally led by Glenn.
Yes!
That IS a good one!
Awesome suggestion. They could do the entire Hotel California record and it would be great.
You're probably already aware of this, but for the sake of those less familiar with UA-cam, the Eagles and copyright strikes against reaction channels, I'll go ahead and elaborate.
The big problem with reaction channels doing Eagles songs is that they are notorious for causing channels to have copyright "strikes" issued against them. If a channel gets "three strikes" against them it's taken down by UA-cam. As such, extreme caution is recommended with Eagles songs.
I seriously don't understand it. It makes no sense to me that these artists don't want people to hear their music.
If there is so much concern about other people making money off of playing their records, why do they allow them to be played on the radio? Radio stations don't pay money to record labels in order to play records. In fact record labels send radio stations free copies of the records so that they will play them. Or at least they used to. Sice there are still hundreds of AM & FM stations playing new, contemporary music I'd be surprised if it's not still common practice.
So it makes no sense to me that just because now it's UA-cam the record labels don't want anybody playing their songs, introducing an entirely new generation to their music.
The Eagles get blocked
Pretty Please...
Both Glen Fry and Don Henley had records of their own, but they are most famous for their joint group “The Eagles”.
RIP to my favorite Eagle!!!! He was so handsome! Great band!!!!!!
Glenn Frey and Kenny Loggins owned the 80's soundtrack scene.
Kenny Loggins has some great soundtrack songs
You saw Glenn Frey playing the acoustic guitar in the “Hotel California” video. He was a member of Eagles, one of the best bands in history. Before forming Eagles, he and Don Henley and Bernie Leadon were Linda Ronstadt’s backup band. Please react to more of Linda’s amazing forty year catalogue. Maybe on Female Friday? 🌺✌️
The Robs don't actually care about our music. This is a scam.
Wow! A little cynical are we?! 🤷🏻♀️
I have noticed little to no reaction to comments.
I Agree With You 100 % About Linda Ronstadt !!
@@grigoriorifiel I don't think they read or answer comments unless you are a patreon member.
R.I.P. Glenn. Thanks for the music November 6, 1948 - January 18, 2016
This song is a burst of sunshine
The Beverly Hills Cop soundtrack was great. Other notables songs from it are Neutron Dance by The Pointer Sisters, and Stir It Up and New Attitude by Patti LaBelle. You definitely should watch this movie. Here's hoping you never fall for a banana in the tailpipe.
😆😆😆
Oh my gosh - that was a good soundtrack. Also liked “Axel F”.
Omg, banana in the tailpipe. Lol.
@@tashakomaroff2982 🍌🍌🍌🍌
that was a cool album full of hits , the first maverick movie came out that year with a good compilation album too
Glenn Frye is just one of the Eagles who did excellent on his own. Check out the rest of the Eagles solo work. Don Henley did amazing songs.
Absolutely. Henley had awesome solo work, especially 'End of the Innocence', 'Dirty Laundry', and 'Boys of Summer'. (His country/ bluegrass album 'Cass County' is really good, too.)
@@matthewlee6168 and New York minute
"Life's Been Good" by Joe Walsh needs added to your list of Eagle's alumni.
I almost forgot I will not go quietly with back up vocals by Mr Axl Rose
It's spelled Frey.
Glenn Frey co-founder of the Eagles!!
Three members of the Eagles did solo projects, Glenn Frey, Don Henley, and Joe Walsh.
Don Felder - Heavy Metal
Glenn had Multiple hits! THE SMUGGLERS BLUES and YOU BELONG TO THE CITY are two Must hears!!! They Are FIRE!
This was on the soundtrack for Beverly Hills Cop, which was a big hit movie for Eddie Murphy. There are 3 Beverly Hills Cop movies, this was from the first. Glen Frey was a member of the Eagles, went solo, then rejoined the band. At one point they all said they'd get back together when hell froze, and then years later went on tour and called the show, Hell Freezes Over!
There are about to be four! I’m not sure why Hollywood has to mess with a good thing; didn’t they learn their lesson with Cats? 😂
And the Hell Freezes Over tour was 14 years after the band split because during the concert they said that they "took a 14 year vacation" lol
He was co-founder of The Eagles. Don Henley (the drummer) was the other one. Both of them were in Linda Ronstadt's band before going on their own.
I think they called themselves The Stone Ponies at the time.
Glenn Frey You belong to the City is another good one. Good saxophone in it... he was member of the best group of all times! The Eagles !!!
This is one of the founding members of the Eagles. But you’re actually right in saying Miami Vice. Frey did “Smuggler’s Blues” for that. Which is also a fantastic song. It tells a really great story.
"YOU BELONG TO THE CITY" by Glenn Frey is another great one!
Definitely do a reaction video to Beverly Hills Cop if you can! 👍👍👍
"You belong to the city" has the BEST saxophone!! ❤️ua-cam.com/video/8TToLgW7zuc/v-deo.html
If you want great sax from beginning to end you need to do "You Belong To The City".
Totally agree!!👍👍👍
Yep' it's 80's. Released in 1984. he had a bunch of good songs in his solo career away from the Eagles.
You Belong to the City and Smugglers Blues are a couple more.
Glenn passed away in 2016 at 67.
Both good songs. “You Belong to the City” is a song The Rob Squad would absolutely love…. I’d rank it alongside Gerry Rafferty’s Baker Street (which they already reacted to)
For some reason, I just have a hard time accepting that he's dead. It doesn't seem possible - I mean, look how young he was in that video, and that was only a couple minutes ago...
My fav Eagles, Glenn Frey. Love and miss him. Keep sleeping in eternal peace Glenn.
Glen is easy on the eyes here, too!!!
Glenn Frey was a founding member of the Eagles, was with them for 50 years until his passing a few years ago
"You belong to the city" is another great song by Glenn Frey
Glenn Frey was underrated - this was his biggest solo hit - he had others too - and as mentioned a founding member of The Eagles. While he is no longer with us sadly his music will continue. Lucky enough to see The Eagles in their first reunion tour. You'll enjoy BEVERLY HILLS COP too
Glenn Fry...what a great career...from playing backup for Linda Ronstandt.... to living below Jackson Browne's apartment and learning to write music by listening to him....to being one of the core members in The Eagles....with a signature voice and great song catalogue... gone much too soon!
What a fun movie. (1984) And this song rocked!! Fry's music include so many classics! 'Take it easy', Peaceful, easy feelin'. He founded the Eagles.
Glenn, as I'm sure others will tell you, was a guitarist and vocalist for The Eagles. Beverly Hills Cop (and its two sequels) were 80s movies starring Eddie Murphy. The first one is a CLASSIC. You should definitely watch it. It is a crime drama, so there are some serious moments, but Eddie brings his comedic style for plenty of classic lines and scenes. (Arnold was in "Kindergarten Cop", another great one.) He also had a song called "Smuggler's Blues" which was featured in a Miami Vice episode that HE GUEST-STARRED in. He also did "You Belong To the City" for the Miami Vice soundtrack. (FYI - Phil Collins was also in an episode of that show.) His other biggest hits were "The One You Love", "True Love", and "Sexy GIrl." Sadly, Glenn passed away in 2016 (five years ago almost to the day) from pneumonia. But his legacy will live on forever. The BHC soundtrack had a few other bangers - "Neutron Dance" by The Pointer Sisters; "New Attitude" and "Stir It Up" by Patti LaBelle; and "Axel F" by Harold Faltermeyer (great instrumental).
GF took some heat for having so much "movie music" & "tv tunes" in his background. His reply of "if I wasn't good at it I wouldn't do it" shut up the haters. His work in the Eagles speaks for itself...
So back in the 80s the way the music videos worked, that are FEATURED in a movie (it was a way to promote the movie) was to show small half second clips from the movie while the singer
lip-synched through the video. It was a BRILLIANT marketing campaign and it really got you pumped about the movie. YOU had this beautiful and excited moment when you HEARD the song in the movie while you are watching it. So sad they stopped doing that. It is one of the reasons that movies do not make as much money anymore. But no one wants to talk about those issues:)
Back in the 80’s there was this cool cop show called Miami Vice it was soooo cool that it even had its own sound track album the first and only tv series to have that! Glen Fry’s Smugglers Blues was on there .
He was also in it.
@@oldmanghost219 #PolitcsOfContraband
@@oldmanghost219 indeed, the whole episode was "Smugglers Blues" and Glenn's character. 👍
Glenn definitely has other bangers as a solo artist, and he's a member of Eagles.
At the Eagles concert l attended last October, Glenn Frey's son stepped in for his late dad, and was terrific!
Around this time Huey Lewis and the news, were singing about "the Heart of Rock and Roll." If you haven't seen the first movie "Footloose," with Kevin Bacon, you have missed out on a lot of danceable music, so far.
My mum had 8 kids, she kept the radio on constantly, so there was always some kind of sound happening. Thus, when the older kids got back from school and the noise levels went up, the younger kids were not shocked awake and crying. It may work for you?
Smugglers Blues is another banger from Glenn Freys solo stuff. He was also one of the founding members of a little band you may have heard of. The Eagles.
You should definitely put the Beverly Hills Cop movies on your must watch list.
Okay, now you need to do a reaction to "Smuggler's Blues" also by Glenn Frey. They actually used it in an episode of the previously mentioned TV series "Miami Vice". Glenn is the special guest star.
Glenn was and still is the best. Never hD a bad song. Going back to the early 70s..
I miss Glenn Frey, was so happy to see him with the Eagles before his passing.
Once again, guys: Glenn Frey was a founding member of The Eagles (Hotel California) you've done Glenn SEVERAL times now! 😊
🌟He pops up and around like Joe Walsh!
Glenn Frey not only had this song as part of the Miami Vice soundtrack, but he also did his first acting gig on the series... > "Glenn Lewis Frey (November 6, 1948-January 18, 2016) was an American singer, songwriter, and actor. He made his acting debut as Jimmy Cole, who provides transport for smugglers (and loves his guitar) in the episode "Smuggler's Blues" of the series Miami Vice."😁👍
Glenn Lewis Frey (/fraɪ/; November 6, 1948 - January 18, 2016) was an American singer, songwriter, actor and founding member of the rock band Eagles. Frey was the co-lead singer and frontman for the Eagles, roles he came to share with fellow member Don Henley, with whom he wrote most of the Eagles' material. Frey played guitar and keyboards as well as singing lead vocals on songs such as "Take It Easy", "Peaceful Easy Feeling", "Tequila Sunrise", "Already Gone", "James Dean", "Lyin' Eyes", "New Kid in Town", and "Heartache Tonight".
During the hiatus of the Eagles from 1980 to 1994, Frey embarked on a successful solo career. He released his debut album, No Fun Aloud, in 1982 and went on to record Top 40 hits "The One You Love", "Smuggler's Blues", "Sexy Girl", "The Heat Is On", "You Belong to the City", "True Love", "Soul Searchin'" and "Livin' Right". As a member of the Eagles, Frey won six Grammy Awards and five American Music Awards. The Eagles were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1998, the first year they were nominated. Consolidating his solo recordings and those with the Eagles, Frey had 24 Top 40 singles on the Billboard Hot 100.
“You belong to the city” is a great song by glen fry…. With heavy saxophone.
❤️❤️❤️
Glenn Frey, From the Eagles. This is some of his solo stuff. This was the opening song for Beverly Hills Cop (Comedy), Eddie Murphy. Talk about being taken back in time. Oh course you think of Miami Vice because Glenn Frey also wrote songs used in Miami Vice and made guest appearances on it also. "Smugglers Blues" is another great song of his from this time. RIP Glenn Frey. Another movie to add into your need to review if you had 48 more hours a day. LOL You do more before 7 am then most do in an entire day. Thanks for todays, First of 3 Smiles.
Glenn was a lead on the Eagles with Don Henley. They went on to have successful solo careers while maintaining their group status with the Eagles. Glenn passed away recently to a surprise to all of his fans. Don sang a song with Stevie Nicks called “Leather and Lace”. Icon status, in the R&R Hall of Fame and back up originally to Linda Ronstadt. Cannot go wrong with any of the Eagles. Joe Walsh in the Eagles was part of the James Gang you have reacted to before. All connected to advancing rock in the 70’s and 80’s.
ICONIC 80s song...reviewed by two very honest and stinkin' cute people!!!!!!!!!!!!
other Glenn Frey songs: "part of me, part of you" (soundtrack from "thelma and louise")..."sexy girl"..."i did it for your love"..."the one you love"...and my favorite Frey song "lover's moon"
This song never fails to conjure a memory.
When it came out, I was living in a crappy, drafty old mobile. It had heat registers/vents in the floor, and my favorite winter spot was on a vent with a big shirt or a blanket to collect the heat.
One night, I was sitting there, and MTV was on...this song came on at the same time as the furnace. IT. WAS. AWESOME.
This is one of Glen Frey solo projects he's is one of the front men for the group the Eagles.
Beverly Hills Cop........Eddie Murphy.......they were films, did 1,2 & 3 as I remember...........another 80s classic..........killing it guys
By the way, the sax player in the video is Candy Dulfer!
Glen Frey has plenty of bangers, both with The Eagles & on his own. This movie was a massive hit & made Eddie Murphy a superstar.
Glen Frey was a spectacular solo artist!
Glenn definitely had other bangers in the 80's, particularly "Partytown", "The Allnighter", and "Livin'Right". And JFTR, Glenn even guest-starred in an episode of 'Miami Vice', one named for a song he wrote... "Smuggler's Blues"! But his slower, more soulful tunes also will not be denied, particularly "The One You Love", "Soul Searchin'", and my favorite song EVER, also written for MV... "You Belong To The City".
Beverly Hills Cop was an Eddie Murphy movie. Great song by Glenn Frey. Listen to Smugglers Blues, that is another banger
Glen Frey was one of the founding members of the Eagles. He sadly passed away in 2016, but his son Deacon, now sings with the remaining Eagle band members and he sounds just as good as his dad! Check out more Glen Frey songs: You Belong To The City and Smuggler's Blues. He had a small part on the Miami Vice tv series in the 80s as I date myself. Blast from the past.
How in the world can you not know that Glenn Frey is a member of one of the greatest groups ever The Eagles.
This song was iconic for the mid-80s. So glad to see you reacting to it!
During the 80's the Eagles took a break and the three main members, Glen Fry, Joe Walsh and Don Henley did their own thing with solo careers. You touched Joe Walsh in the James Gang and on his own. You should listen to Don Henley with Boys of Summer.
Yes! Boys of Summer has a great vibe! I'm a big Henley fan.
You need two more Glenn Frey songs with beautiful sax: You Belong To The City and The One You Love
Glen Frey, the king of the 80s movie soundtracks.
This was one of the greatest action movies of all time!
Amber, as a few other people have mentioned, you would absolutely love "The One You Love". It is a beautiful slow song with gorgeous saxophone intro and solo. But I have to caution, there is a cover version out on youtube that fooled one other reactor that was unfamiliar with Glenn's songs. The genuine Glenn Frey video has Glenn standing, in a white suit with a red tie, holding a guitar, next to a sign that says "No Fun Aloud" (which was the title of his first solo album).
A solo Glen Frey classic that needs to be checked out is Smuggler's Blues which was used in Miami Vice. Miami Vice had an episode called Smuggler's Blues in which Glen Frey was a guest star.
Rest in peacefully in heavenly home Glenn Frey God bless you
RIP, thanks for sharing your talent.
The movie "Beverly Hills Cop" is super fun, you'll love it! This soundtrack is awesome, Neutron Dance, Axel F by Harold Faltermeyer, New Attitude, Stir It Up.
Glenn Frey is from the Eagles and that's a rabbit hole you definitely want to go down
His song and video " you belong to the city", are an absolute timepiece of 80s nostalgia. Especially with all the Miami Vice scenes mixed in
One of the marvelous Eagles, R.I.P Glenn...
I always loved his voice. Still do. RIP
You guys should do Glen's song "You belong to the city". You guys love the sax, so I know for sure you're gonna LOVE this song.
Glen Frey had several hits during his solo career.Smuggler's Blue.Part of Me, Part of You (Thelma And Louise soundtrack).
Love that song Part of me Part of You
"You Belong to the City" is my favorite Glenn Frey song, just above this one!!!
You belong to the city is still one of my favorite songs ever. Best saxophone ❤️
Glenn Frey of the Eagles accepted Linda Ronstadts music award because she was unable....The Eagles have ALWAYS given credit where credit is due...Linda was the single most important factor in the 4 members of the Eagles getting together...THANK YOU Linda!
Lord how many generations don't know Eddie and movie. Blows my mind how these youngins missed something so big.
I continue to be amazed at how LITTLE these people (that do the reaction videos) know about popular culture, that is not really that old.
I guess they are too self-absorbed in their own little worlds to experience all that is out there. It does give me some - minor - hope that they are trying........
The fact that they mentioned movies like Norbert and Nutty Professor (which is a POOR remake of the Jerry Lewis film from the early 60's) indicates
that they have been spoon-fed some of the worst drivel in the past 30 years. I don't understand how some folks have been so sheltered from this media.
It shouldn't. The movie came out probably 10 years before they were born. While you and I remember it fondly, it doesn't really get talked about in pop culture anymore except amongst the older set when we're fondly reminiscing. There's no reason people Jay and Amber's age would know it or remember it. There's an entire generation that only knows Eddie Murphy as the guy from "Nutty Professor." Just like there's an entire generation of young people who are shocked to learn that Dr. Dre is a rapper and not just the guy who "invented" Beats headphones. But it's not like they're clueless. It's just that time passes and the younger generations have their own cultural touchstones that older folk know nothing about (and which the generations of kids that come later will also know nothing about).
Amber, you would love THE ONE YOU LOVE by Glenn, starts right off with horns!!! He did some acting also. He had a guest starring role on Miami Vice, the first season, the episode was called Smugglers Blues, which was inspired by Glenns song of the same name.
I love watching these young guys get down like we did
Beverly Hills cop had great music! Glenn Frey from the Eagles also, did music for Miami Vice.
Was waiting for this one. I always loved this vibe. 💕 Watch the movie. It’s classic. Beverly Hills Cop. Eddie Murphy and Judge Reinhold.
"The One You Love" is an absolute MASTERPIECE of an Amber type song!!! You'll love his mellow vocal, and the amazing sax!!! That one should definitely be next from Glenn Frey. 😊 Here is the video with the greatest audio quality: ua-cam.com/video/_z-I8OpCnv4/v-deo.html
Such a great song. My favorite of all of his solo songs. RIP.
I just love Jay and Amber. Every single day 😊
Love Glenn Fry! ❤💞💞🎈
With the passing of Ronnie Spector, out of respect to her, please do "Be My Baby" by the Ronettes for Female Friday.
Yes, please
Yes!! Been waiting for a reaction to this song and so happy you two brought it to us. Love this song, especially the sax. Thank you!
RIP Glenn Frey, I Loved him with the
Eagles, all around amazing musician! 💞💞
Love Glenn Frey. RIP. Great movie too.
As others have said, Glenn Frey (may he rest in peace) was a member of the Eagles. You might like a 1980s solo song by another member of the Eagles: "Boys of Summer" by drummer Don Henley.
Rest in Peace.. One of the truly great ones. Take It Easy, Mr. Fry.
I love running 🏃♂️ to beat of this song. It flows perfect with my stride! Love you guys! Keep up the great work! And take care of those kids!!😁
oh man I hadn't heard this song for so long! thanks for your reaction :)
I love your channel. You’re so real and really interested in learning. And you fill my heart with you kind words. Rock on and keep on doing exactly what you’re doing. Thank you for reminding me of songs I had forgotten. ♥️🙏🏼♥️
Rock In Peace Glen.
I jumped on this as soon as I saw it in my feed this morning and smiled the whole way through. I just want to say how much I enjoy your channel. I'm have a great time watching you discover some of my favorite music and thanks for giving me the opportunity to rediscover it myself. Smuggler's Blues would be a great follow up.
"Beverly Hills Cop " (1984) was Eddie Murphy's third hit movie after "48 Hrs"(1982) and "Trading Places"(1983). The soundtrack was amazing as well with hits like "Neutron Dance" by The Pointer Sisters, "Axel Foley's Theme" by Harold Faltmeyer and "Stir it up" by Patti Labelle. "Beverly Hills Cop " was the #1 movie of the year in 1984 at the box-office and cemented Eddie Murphy as a superstar. It was mix of comedy, drama, music and action.I am glad you both found out that it was a movie and not a tv show. It is considered a classic '80s movie.
Of all the musicians that I love, when Glenn Frey passed away it affected me the hardest. I cried and cried
I didn't hear this song for a long time but now i did it whas great. Thanx for this reaction video. Loved it 💝😍👍
"the one you love" great ballad by Glenn Frye
Love the way you guys relate to everyone! You’re viewpoints are always valid and to the point and you truly understand and appreciate all genres and eras of music. Try Billy Joel “Until the Night” ,…you’ll love the sax at the end!
Love you guys!!!
YAY!!! I suggested him when you guys did an Eagles song. RIP Glenn Frey. He left quite the catalog for us to enjoy. You Belong to the City and The One You Love are great songs from his solo career and ANY Eagles song.... you guys love harmonizing and him and Don Henley from the Eagles are amazing together.
