@linksgarage1985, I also love your DRZ400 videos and have also subscirbed. When do you think you'll do a clean air mod and video of it on the bike? I get some oil in my airbox from wheelies and have been looking forward to a clean install for this modification. With your awesome attention to detail, I know you would do it right no doubt.
Loving your vids bro. I love your thought process, and your attention to detail. New sub and will be watching more of your vids as I'll be a new DRZ400SM owner soon. Take care and keep up the awesome work. Rick
My question is this, what happens when you wash the motorcycle with high pressure water? The cut allows the entry of more air to the engine but also of water easily. I love your videos. Regards.
Does that even do anything? I’ve ridden with my friend with the air box door off. We have the same bike, same weight and everything. Didn’t notice anything when we raced. I guessing you have to do all 3 together?
After you do exhaust, and fuel, more air is needed. Yes. It’s best to run all 3. So to answer your question. Yes. It does. In conjunction with a rejet and exhaust. If you don’t do the other 2, it will run 2 lean. And you could potentially lose power. Thanks for watching!
Hey man did you have to readjust the mixture on the carb after removing the charcoal canister? Took it off mine last night, and now the bike idles really rough and sputters out. I primed the carb and it ran a bit better, but as soon as i switch the petcock to "ON" it starts to idle rough and if i give it gas, it backfires super loud! Not sure what happened, I did exactly as the walkthrough says, remove canister, cap the bottom of the carb, and guide the tank relief hose down to the bottom of the bike. Didn't touch anything else. So not sure what the issue is, or if you had a similar problem when removing yours.
My bike didn’t have a charcoal canister. That’s only California and Canada bikes I think. I did remove the pair valve. And yes. If you are opening up air box, you need an exhaust and to rejet the carb to make it run right.
@@linksgarage1985 I assumed it had to do with emissions, so it makes sense, even though I'm in AZ, but the bike is probably originally from Cali. Bike is already re-jetted with a JD kit and has a MRD exhaust. I ended up figuring out that the vacuum line was disconnected from the petcock after i removed the tank. Bike's running fine now. Love your build! Gonna do the PAIR valve and a Raptor petcock next. 👍
Just wondering I have the 2009 Suzuki DRZ and I was concerned about water going into my airbox , I often ride in raining conditions . Is this something that I should be concerned about
.......I'm going to do the 3 X 3 and rejet. I am not going to the expense of buying a new exhaust....just don't care to spend that much, etc. My bike is stock right now and I'm pretty happy with it's performance as is. Going to do minor mods only. 2023 S model....
@@linksgarage1985 I did the 3X3 mod and the JD jet kit. Its bogging a lot, to the point where it will stall itself. I followed the directions perfectly, im not too sure what is wrong with it.

Thank you! I may do that!

Negative. It’s on top.
Did you by chance do a before and after mpg?
I didn’t. Sorry about that.
Which jet kit does a person use after this? I looked but did not see
Here’s a video. Good luck! ua-cam.com/video/GknR8d5DDmM/v-deo.htmlsi=fYeQlulvnTbUaPV6
Do you need to re jet with this mod?
A jet is recommended. I have a video in that as well if you are interested. Thanks for watching I appreciate it!
are you able to do just the exhaust and not run with the re jetting kit and 3x3 box mod.
You can. But it might not run great
@@linksgarage1985 alright do you know if drilling the fuel screw plug out and the 3x3 box mod void the bikes warranty by chance

Guys does it make any sense to make 3 by 3 air box with stock exhaust?
Not really. I’d just remove snorkel.

@rickthompson1422 have you done the exhaust yet? 😂 it seems like the 3x3, a rejet and an exhaust are usually all done together.
If you do this does it then need to be jetted?
I’d recommend it. If not, it’ll be pretty lean.

does this work on S version too ?
Yes
I took just my snorkel out and my bike died. Had to push it a mile back home. It would run, but eventually died with any throttle
You left the same filter?
No. K&N
