This is very nice. If you guys do strings again. Please show some love to viola. I don't see a lot of solo viola libraries.
please release BARBARIAN VIOLA and VIOLIN with the same ENGINE! Waiting....
Coming soon :)
@@GlynLloyd thanks!!
@@GlynLloyd WOW thanks for the update!!!!! Can't wait.... :D

Great job, wonderful sounds and good legato ! Thanx....
Thanks a lot Jason! :)
This is my ideal cello! Brilliantly done David. A must have!
Awesome!
Sounds really good
Thanks!
Sounds great!
Amazing! Bravo!
Amazing! Picking up now!
Thanks Joe!
Nice.
Very cinematic cello
hi this sounds really good...is there a way to turn off the key switches if needed? thanks
Thanks! If you don't want to use the key switches you also have a folder available with each individual articulation.
@@DavidFornerSamples thats great to know thank you...
Is there a user manual anywhere? I cant find it, you mention the offset knob but you never showed it, also , is there a track delay for the different legato?
Sorry but there is no manual. When you press the info button, the delay for each group of articulations appears. The legato has 220 ms of delay but you can reduce it down to 80 with the offset knob.
@@DavidFornerSamples awesome David thank you, one more question, some users mentioned that some legato notes have a "double attack" instead of sounding just one note you get a ta taaa, are you aware of this and is this going to be fixed with the upcoming update? Kind regards.
@@HOBBITSODYSSEY Yes, I'm working on it for the update that will probably come out this week
@@DavidFornerSamples Thank you, I am just waiting on a video with the fast legato on the lowest register, I can tell it works well in the mids and highs. I like the tone.
Fabulous sounds!! Can vibrato & expression /dynamics be controlled through external sliders? (I have the same question for the violin.) Thanks!
Yes, you can control the instrument with external sliders. The dynamics are assigned by default to CC1 but you can change it to the CC you want by clicking on the settings part as shown at the end of the video. The vibrato is not controllable on this instrument.
@@DavidFornerSamples Thank you so much for letting me know so swiftly. Ah, if only vibrato was controllable! Increasing vibrato with the dynamics adds so much realism and punch to stringed instruments. If I can make a feature request, this would definitely be it. Nonetheless you’ve achieved some remarkable sounds with this. I especially love the ferocity of the rapid notes blazing through a piece which I heard on another video, digging into the strings with such raw guts and power. I think I may be purchasing your cello on the basis of that alone. But this video had a lot of exciting sounds to it as well. Thanks again for getting back to me!
Can someone please tell me where those chords at 16:21 come from? They sound really familiar.
Hi !
Verry good intrument. It's strange because at home, I have the impression that the sound has less proximity than in your demo.
I don't know how it was recorded, but it would be cool to have an option with a mixer to have the possibility of a "dry" sound with less echo from the room.
Thanks, the sound of the examples in the video does not have any external effects added, so it is exactly the same as the one you get when you buy it. If you would like to get a drier sound you can turn off the reverb.
@@DavidFornerSamples Ok, thx.
Hello, can you change the speed of vibrato and for the tremolo??
The vibrato speed is not controllable on this instrument. Depending on what type of legato you choose, the vibrato is slightly more intense. The instrument also has sustains without vibrato. The tremolo speed cannot be changed.
At 17:54, is there a separate software used for the pad like sound? I really enjoy the flow of emotions.
That sound is a mix of two pads from El Dorado legato ambient guitar and bowed guitar. It is made with the pads sust. ambient and dist. flutes and adding some reverb to them.
Can this library get more range with higher notes. Because a real cello player can play a little bit higher than the range these notes go to. The Bohemian solo cello rang goes much higher in the range, as in violin range. It has 61 notes you can use. But the notes sound thicker as thoes high notes would sound thicker because a cello has a thicker Fuller sound then a violin does. Can you add an update to make the note range go in the high territory range please. The bohemian cello has 61 notes that you can use. I have heard a live player, that has played up in the 40-61 note range form a live orchestra on UA-cam. Is this someone that can be achieved. Your cello player will have to record those higher notes. Will it be also possible to have a portamento key switch. As the bohemian cello has a portamento key switch, where if pressed all the notes will play a portamento when you transition from a note to another note. Even if its 1 note up it will play a portamento transition. For all notes the same. But if you dont use that key switch then only when you play a note then jump to the 5th note or the 6th note up or the 7th note up form the one you just played. Then it will use portamento transitions. Then if you just play 1 note up at a time with out using portamento key switch. The notes will play with out portamento untill you jump form 5 or 6 or 7 notes up to trigger portamento. Thank you for a wonderful library still. It will just be nice to see these things implemented in an update that's all.
Will anyone else in the comments here like to see a higher note range for this cello library??. Beautiful sounding cello 😍😊.
Great library. My one complaint is switching legato types immediately shuts off whatever note is playing. For my uses, fixing that would bring this from a B all the way to an A+
Thanks Alex, I'm working on an update that will be ready in the next few days, so I'll add what you say just for the legato, I just tried it and it's a nice improvement. The update will also improve some legato transitions.
The thing about stopping all the notes with the articulation changes is because the releases in this library are longer than usual so that the notes end in the most natural way possible (especially in the low notes that are the ones that resonate the most in the cello). If I don't make all the notes stop when the articulation is changed, the releases of the old notes will be mixed with the new notes. Ideally, you should change the articulation just as the notes of the new articulation are about to begin.
@@DavidFornerSamples Just downloaded the legato update, and it's perfect now! That made all the difference. Thank you for the quick update! 🙏
Can we EXPECT A SOLO VIOLIN lib with the same ENGINE and SCRIPT ???
It is an option, but nothing is decided yet.
@@DavidFornerSamples please consider!!! We need a FLUID Solo Violin Library! All libraries available currently are not good for FAST PLAYING!
Yes you can and it's out now - www.lootaudio.com/category/kontakt-instruments/David-Forner/lux-violin
just bought this a few days ago. The sound quality is amazing but the legato is nearly unplayable (even with the offset knob dialed all the way up - which makes it sound pretty bad) as it has a ridiculous delay on the legato transitions. This really needs to be fixed. I don't have any other virtual instruments that are this bad to play the core of the patch. Again, absolutely amazing sound quality - the best of all my sampled cellos - but the legato articulations are not fun to play at all.
Thanks for commenting Jacob, the use of delay/latency is key for the instrument to sound realistic since you have to let the legato transitions sound completely, in real life it takes the player a certain amount of time to change from one note to another. Eliminating this takes away all the musicality of any virtual instrument, which is why the use of delay is a standard in the sampling industry (there are famous libraries that use even more delay than this one).
The instrument has a maximum latency of 220ms which you can reduce with the offset knob and make it easier to play with the keyboard, having this option available I think is ideal since you give the user the option to choose how much latency they want, obviously the more you reduce it, less legato transition time you will hear and you will lose the naturalness of the performance that was captured in the sampling sessions.
If you don't want to use the offset knob you can also experience an improvement by lowering the buffer size in your audio card settings.
thanks for replying. Would you be able to increase the amount of offset or introduce adaptive legato speeds like in other libraries so that the legato samples match the playing speed (or both). It is really weird to play a patch with so much latency.
Creating a legato that changes the amount of latency depending on the speed of the performance would create much more confusion when quantizing the notes in the DAW. If you want less latency, leave the offset knob around half, this way you won't lose too much quality and you will have about 150ms of latency, a figure lower than many libraries on the market.
In any case, my recommendation is that you try to get used to the latency since technologically there is no possible solution to eliminate latency when playing in real time on the keyboard. It is impossible to predict the note you are going to play before you play it in order to compensate for the latency of the note change before it happens.

Thank you, at the moment there are no plans to extend the range of the cello. You can enlarge the range of the cello, both up and down, with the knobs available on the interface.
@@DavidFornerSamples thank you. can you control how fast or how slow the vibrato speed is like you can do in the Joshua bell violin? even if you add more range to the cello it won't make the vibrato sound to fast and artificial?
@@sambojoe4797The speed of the vibrato is not controllable. When extending the range from the user interface the vibrato remains quite natural given that this library does not have a very strong and exaggerated vibrato and that at most you can extend it up to a "b" in the high register.
