I too love these little diamonds in the rough or the specifics. I have the BBC library and spitfire .. and their solo instruments don’t really have an easy way for this emotive legato. I LOVE how this sounds as a close and slow.. the close and fast also has a near sound deafening realism.. it’s blowing my mind haha. Love your videos for I can see it in your body how these sounds hit you. This is one of the best cello VST’s I heard… I definitely am adding this to my cart ;)

Hi!
Im loving this library but one thing i think that im missing is the ability to slowly fade out the instruments dynamics. I feel like if i do a long slow line that i want to fade out at the end of a bar, i need to program in an actual reduction in volume, which sounds artificial. Even if i move the mod wheel all the way down the instrument is still playing very loud and with a lot of dynamics. Any suggestions from you simon? Or any of you others out here in the comment section 🤓

I am not familiar with the Cremona Quartet sound, but I have to say Sonixinema captured something very beautiful here.

My lord.... when I saw this I was like 'right.. yet another awful sounding solo cello', then you started playing and I could not believe my ears.... I don't know how they did it, but they found the holy grail of legato scripting for solo strings. Too bad they stopped at legato. This could have been the best solo cello on the market by a long shot (possibly only rivalled by Bohemian Cello). When you started playing arpeggios however, then it kind of fell apart. I guess they did not record many (if any) round robins for it. On the other hand their contemporary cello just sounds, to my ear, like any other solo cello out there: somewhat fake. However, their walkthrough does not sound nearly half as bad.
Yes, I think they stumbled across something really special. If I am hearing them correctly, I would say that this approach will be coming to more of their products in the future and may also be implemented to provide possible updates the some of their existing lineup which would be amazing.
For me I look at this as a type of proof of concept, and they knocked it right out of the park. I am very excited to see what is ahead for them.

Do you find yourself actually using this in your pieces?
Luis, I would say I haven’t yet. 🤓 I find myself a little woefully behind on keeping up with producing my own arrangements which I tend to be frustrated about.
One could be so busy building homes for others that they find their own dwelling sometimes falling into disrepair.
My aim for his year and beyond is to remedy that.
I would indeed find myself using this when it called for it as it has possibly one of the most expressive legato implementations.
