The hardware was never the problem. Plenty of other huge games run well on the Switch. GF is the one who didn't optimize their games. If they don't start doing that, then Gen 10 is going to run just as bad, if not worse on the Switch 2 no matter how powerful the console is
I think it's a mix of both, I really do. Other big games run better overall, but they still struggle in some instances ( BotW was a day 1 title and the Korok Forest lagged since then). I think it's likely we'll see a smoother gameplay in areas like that, but nothing grand. It's in the future that we'll really see how it changes things!
If people think previous Switch pokemon games would run better on the Switch 2, that is false. The issue is with the games. Not the original Switch. So the issues of Scarlet and Violet will still be there even if you play it on the Switch 2. So we won't see an improvement of the current pokemon games we have. But future games might have improvements since they be Switch 2 exclusive games. And hopefully the extra time does ZA and others some good.
The games in legacy mode will definitely run much better with both stable frame rate and resolution. But I pray to Arceus that we'll also see some kind of enchantments for a new console. There may not be and it would be extremely disappointing.
@notsoAceTrainer By "enhancments" I meant features like 60 FPS and better visuals. Of course the games would run better by themselves just from the sheer power and even this makes me super excited :D
Of course, but this is mostly about how a new, more powerful console could affect the games we have. But it's true that it needs to come from both parties!
Honestly I'm more concerned how it will effect my pocket because i really don't want to shell out over $400 in one year just to continue playing my favorite game series so i really hope i can still use my switch lite moving forward for future main series games

I probably will get it, try out Pokemon Violet on it, then return it if it doesn't run better than my overclocked Switch 1

But i have to wonder how it compares to a PS4 Pro or even the regular version

If the games have unlocked fps, they likely will run better. The other issues (glitches, etc) will remain.

I think we'll have them, not as like enhanced versions, but simply the games running better out of sheer power from the console

@@minislayer3241 GF has said they will never target 60 fps so suck it up i guess 😂
They should put all of their time into the next generation Pokemon games.

@ You make a good point.
hopefully Switch 2 will at least be more powerful than a PS3 🙃
Likely will be and likely will still have an incredible lineup!
Is shiny valuza the one you have nightmares about i would think that it was nidoran
I had so many nightmares about Shiny Nidoran that now I just call it sleeping 😂
Hahaha i can understand

I think you're probably safe with Z-A, though I really think that after that it's very likely they move on to the next one!
