same! I think maybe our palate is too narow making it feel like our tongue is too big . I constantly have to remind myself to keep it in the right place
Same same. I sit with my head angled down a bit, not sure if that's why. I can do the tongue thing and shut my mouth but my teeth don't touch. If I try they judder.
Nothing is impossible my guy.. Takes time to get used to so don’t worry by the end of my first month it got better for me. Try looking up myofunctional therapy it will help alot with it.
if it's impossible for you, you could have a tongue tie! i'm doing myofunctional therapy and have pretty good grasp on this stuff, but will almost definitely need a tongue tie release to ever be able to do any of the exercises fully (with my entire tongue able to be on the roof of my mouth). If you have a tongue tie and/or bad tongue posture, you should get your palate/airways checked out. Most of us need palate expanders (like vivos DNA, AGGA, etc.) before getting any orthodontic work done. If you get orthodontics without widening your jaw, you'll probably just end up in way worse shape.
true but some ppl say this, even this speech therapist I went to with my toddler. She said only the tip :/ I do my entire tongue against the roof which is how it should be
dawg when i swallow and try to keep my tongue on the roof of my mouth theres still saliva in the front of my mouth and under my tongue so then i have to push my tongue against my teeth and suck against my lips to swallow (how i normally do it) literally what do i do how do i swallow normally it feels impossible to me and because of this my front teeth are getting pushed forwards
Keep the correct tongue posture at all times (not touching your teeth) and try to swallow the right way, if you can’t do it perfectly that’s fine but even taking steps to the right direction is good while it may feel awkward. With time your palate should expand and the correct swallow should come easier but what’s required is for you to keep the right posture and avoid the wrong swallow to the extend you can.
open bite is not caused by tongue pressure. some orthdontist did a nice video about it on youtube. basically you only pressure the teeth with swallowing about 960 seconds on average per day which is 960 seconds of force which is never enough to create open bites. if that was enough then you only had to wear braces 16 minutes a day which is crazy you need to wear them 20+ hours a day and to maintain eventually about 5-8 hours a day. basically open bites are caused by mouth breathing caused by various things like sinus issues, allergies, enlarged tonsils etc.
im trying to figure out what orthodontist i should chose. are orthodontic clinics that also provide myofuctional therapy better? because when applying braces they will not create end result that will interfere with correct tongue posture.
yo fix your malfunction first then see what is left, orthoidiots they dont care about malfunctions you just wear braces and then retainer but with retainer and your malfunction it is forces against forces which will cause new problems. try face former by dr. berndsen it is a 6-12months training programm and cost 30€. its only 30-40€ what is the price for braces? thousands! this device will fix your wrong basis functions, you will learn and train natural functions and your teeth and muscles and tongue! will work correctly and by that your problem will fix from alone because it adapts

Hi there! I’m an dental airway consultant and I could help give you some general information if you’re looking for orthodontic help. I’m sorry to hear you had such a bad experience.
Hi Lissa, We are going through the same with my daughter. Would love to chat further and see what’s going wrong with her treatment. Not sure why it says my husband’s name. I guess it’s his you tube account
@@markarzola2361 hi! I’d be happy to talk. Did your daughter have extractions? I had something very weird happen to my face, the ortho accidentally pulled all my teeth down, it caused vertical facial growth and my smile literally went down in my face, causing my face to be longer. I doubt that’s what’s happening with your daughter but if it’s related to extractions I know some info about that.
@@EllaArmstrong25 my daughter didn’t have extractions. My oldest daughter did have four teeth pulled and ended up with gummy smile, I told ortho I didn’t like her smile after all the treatment then I researched gummy smiles and decided to do tads to bring her smile up, so it won’t show her gums. But my youngest daughter her jaw has dropped and it looks disformed. She has a bad open bite that he is trying to fix. She is had the braces for 2 years now. The ortho suggested she needed to have jaw surgery in her adult years. She is only 13 now

The tongue posture they showed is completely wrong. The whole tongue should be glued to the roof of the mouth, not the tip.

Many people rest their tongue on the front teeth all day long, giving it more than enough time to open the bite over years.
My ortho said that this therapy will cost me 1950$ so I’m trying to learn on UA-cam for freeee
This video is amazing!
Tip.. stick out your tongue and press the tip against an object. When you stop, your tongue snaps back where it should sit automatically
at rest of tongue its exercise or its should sets all day ? doesn't should the tongue flat at west?
I can’t!!!! 😩 But I need to, so I can get these braces off!
