Just for you Ranger guys Who own a 520c or 521c that I know of. There is a good void space between your consul and front storage locker. You can save some space in your storage locker by placing your AT module there. You’ll need to remove the shelf side panel. (2 screws in each corner top.) Then remove the black plastic back panel. Plenty of room to mount the AT module. Good access to the cockpit buss bar or your A-1, A-2. & A-3 dash switches. also your wire tube is right there to run wires from the bow. Mount the AT module to cockpit wall (lights up) using 4 Machine screws with washer and Aircraft nuts, placing the washer/aircraft nut on the inside of the mount.
Replacing the black plastic panel with 3 - 1/2 drill bit ventilation holes... placed where you can see the light on the module through those holes (good Luck with lining those up.) Don’t forget to run a extra #12 yellow wire to the bow for any fix Navico will come out with in the future.
Someone should do a video on this.

Great video, but the product needs to be available for us to buy! You have a rebate of $200 that expires at the end of March but we can't even buy it.. The offer should be extended if there's an issue with availability at Lowrance.
We are producing as we "speak". As per the rebate, as long as you have ordered within the promotion time, you will be entitled to the rebate.
Just ordered from BPS yesterday. They’ve been coming in sporadically. Where can I find the rebate?

Could you put in a water tight box? Or would it over heat??

Does it matter what side of the transducer faces the trolling motor shaft or no?
I’ve been waiting 2 1/2 months for my order and I ordered it from 3 different companies! I really want to try it on the ice but our lakes in central Minnesota are getting dicy with the melting. It better be here by fishing opener!

Jacob - I have 2013 Ranger Z522, I am going to take the (4) 2013 12" Lowrance heads off and install new FFS and Active Target 2 on the boat. I am in the Houston area, who would you recommend for installation of the system? I would like it to be professional and well done.

A year later. How do you like it? What modes do you use the most?
Lawrance does not want you to use cable ties since it can damage the inner cables. You should use electrical tape and get rid of the cable ties. Besides that great video.

I have a min Kota Ulterra trolling motor with spot lock what pieces do I need to connect it to my active target trans Duser and also it came with a remote control Bass Pro. Shop didn’t hook my foot control to the main Kota trolling motor I was wondering can I use both if they hook up the foot control i’ve been back and forth to bass pro shop for two months now and it keeps giving me the runaround so maybe you can help me and point me in the right direction please respond
How do you calibrate the direction indicator on the graph for the active target 2 transducer.

Do you ever mount the transducer on the gunnel 3/4 of the way back on a 16 foot tiller rather than on the trolling motor?
Wish more fishermen would demo the HDS7.
Some annoying things.
Slow processor is noticeably annoying on button delays about every 4th press.
SPOTLIGHT, after being disabled in menu, re-enables itself on next start up.
Also on multiple chart set up, the top 2 text OPTIONS under SONAR are;
SONAR/AFT DEPTH
SONAR /DEPTH .
If I set up SONAR/DEPTH on first combo chart, then it is no longer available on other combo chart. Only SONAR/AFT DEPTH can be set to appear on multiple combo charts.
Not sure what the difference is between them.

How is it with overheating transducer when its up from the water and still on?
I see that the Ethernet cable included in the kit is black. Is the common gray Ethernet cable compatible? If so, I have a spare gray cable in place already that I could connect. If the black cable is a "crossover" cable that's different, I need to know. Update: It appears Jason connects the gray Ethernet cable that is common with Lowrance systems. I'm not sure why the kit has a black cable.
So I just installed mine having some issues. The power light on black box blinks red green?
If you want to install a Livesight transducer with AT, do you recommend installing the LS above or below the AT transducer? Thanks.
We would recommend to install the AT on top.
If the trolling motor is flipped the other way, so the prop is out, then is it OK for the transducer to be just the opposite of what’s in this video?

@@lowrance I spent over an hour on the phone with one of your guys and it’s still not working right. When looking at the Active Target screen, why is the lake bottom running up at around a 45° angle instead of flat?
Is this still as good being used at sea cause all I can find is freshwater, look forward to Honest answer?
Yes, the ActiveTarget is a great transducer also for salt water. Indeed, water conditions and salinity can slightly decrease the depth reached.
Just got my AT and Elite FS7 but connecting the yellow wires still does not wake up the module. Connecting yellow to red works but I'd prefer to have the FS unit control the AT module. Also did the latest software update on the FS unit but no change. Has anyone else had this problem?

my active target was working fine then, my screen is black like there is no back light

I was under the impression you don't need the module if you are connecting to a network that has at least 1 HDS Live unit? Is that the case?
You will need the ActiveTarget module in order to use the ActiveTarget transducer.

Yes, you can run the ActiveTarget module on 12v dc or 24v dc.
I currently have a 3D Structure scan box mounted with an Ethernet cable going from that box to my HDS 12 live on the bow. This box also Ethernet cabled to an HDS 9 Gen 3 on the dash. When hooking up my AT Box, can I run the Ethernet cable from that box into the third open Ethernet port on my 3D Structure Scan Box and feed the signal back through to Both Units?
You may indeed use the ethernet port of your 3D structurescan module, but keep in mind the HDS Gen3 is not compatible with the ActiveTarget, so you will get no readings on the Gen3.
Hello, how much depth range active target sonar can reach on down view of course?

We'll advise you to have a search on UA-cam, and you'll find different videos on the subject. You might need to purchase a third party mount for it.

How does the 360 upgrade effect this? Seems it would be a cable issue
There will be no issue for the 360 feature.
I have the 20.3 with no active target???? How do I get it? About to take it back and get a GARMIN…
You will need to go to Settings > System > Advanced > Features and activate the ActiveTarget feature from there.
Can I mount the 3-1 transducer to the trolling motor?
Yes, you may mount the 3-1 to a trolling motor. You will need to purchase a third party mount.
I don’t want to see another video from Lowrance until the product is ready!! I ordered mine on DECEMBER 10 and still don’t have it. I ordered it from a reputable dealer and they keep telling me they are getting ZERO information from Lowrance on when they will get product. Horrible new product launch on Lowrance’s part!

I contact my reputable dealer (Russel Marine Products) often. They continually state that Lowrance is not supplying enough product to meet demand of their orders.
Here’s what I know:
1. Lowrance announced on 12/4/20 they have a product to compete with Garmin Livescope.
2. Myself, like many others, place a “pre-order “ to get item as soon as it’s available. I placed my order on 12/10/20.
3. It is now the end of March 2021 and Lowrance has not been able to supply my dealer product.

No, the ActiveTarget is not compatible with the Elite ti2. You will need to have an Elite FS, HDS Carbon or HDS Live.
What size wire should I run for power for the active target. This seems to be hard to find online?
Size of wire depends on the length of wire run, but typically 10-12awg works well for our units.
Will a Mercury VesselView mobile which works by bluetooth, connect to the HDS9 live unit?
The VesselView mobile will connect your mobile device with your Mercury engine via bluetooth. The connection will not use the HDS Live
Will the active target mount work on a Minn Kota Ultrex shaft?
Yes, the AT transducer comes with a trolling motor mount. We'd advise to put the bracket 8"-10" up from the motor housing.
Changing the transducer angle constantly to change the mode on the unit is a feature I DON'T LIKE! That's a big dealbreaker for me already. Maybe the next future unit when this is gone I'm in.
This is the technology used at the moment. Somewhere in the future you might be able to do it directly from the MFD.
Will the 3 in 1 nose cone, which is longer, interfere with or partially block, the signal from the Active Target transducer in down mode?

It doesn't interfere with the signal or performance of the ActiveTarget.

You guys need to have an actual expert on the phone. Every time I call for some kind of technical support. I get an elderly lady who knows nothing. Very frustrating when the person answering your phones knows less than me. Navico needs to have a technical support per company they own..... Especially when I have to pay full price for my units.

@@SlayerWalleye I’m still waiting. I called Russell Marine and they informed me that they are having trouble getting the units from Lowrance and all business are having the same issue
@@69Bowhunter it’s a bummer nobody can get them. They were supposed to have ramped up production after fixing a problem with the early units. Sure aren’t getting them out fast. Now I have been waiting 3 months.

Yes with electrical tape. It says in the manual no zip ties. They pinch the wire.
