Yes, I now have a better idea of how to do the right tonguing. I can memorize the keys, but this is an even greater help in my quest to become a great flautist!
How did you memorise these keys? 😳. I thought that it would be like playing the clarinet, but sideways. But it feels like press up here, now down there, now up here - move this finger without moving the ones below it.... Did it take a very long time? 🤔
@@1Flyingfist No, not at all! I just needed a fingering chart and hours of practice to get it right. Still need to refine my tonguing, but I already have the keys down pat, and I'm also very close to being able to play all three octaves.
Good tips! I have found the muscles near my jaw are always sore when I do a lot of tonguing and I realize that I am using my tongue to force the air like you mentioned. I must be moving my jaw around too, so by using Ha Ha with support I think is going to really help me. This is the kind of knowledge that can take one to the next level of playing!
@@TheFlutePractice You're welcome. I play flute for three months now and I like your videos a lot. Very natural, down to earth. Question, are there more videos of you playing? Performing? I would like to see more of this, if it's ok to ask?
Tobias Herrmann no problem asking. I am working on getting some more recordings and uploading! There are 1 or 2 more videos if you search for my name Tatiana Thaele on UA-cam as well. Welcome to the flute world!
I was told that the single tonguing is a “pull” away from the back of the upper teeth, with the air ‘expelling’ with a constant force. So, instead of a forward bang, the tongue is releasing the already ‘pressurized’ airstream.
I can do it it’s just I tend to double tongue ,it’s really frustrating I can’t do a pretty and nice single tongue sound the piece I’m trying to play is called March of the Belgian paratroopers and like I can’t slur down to the tongue
Oh, no! I cannot do the right tounging! If I try it so, that it can be heard, my embochure goes away.... I am a beginner and I am very sad that I can not catch the right technique. :-(
Im still not sure where to put my tongue ive tried finding a visual xray kinda thing to see but i cant find and im always making that noise and im not sure if im doing it right and im in advanced band.
The misleading and risque title is click baiting, Tatiana! JUST KIDDING my friend lol! Very interesting that the nuances of fluting exercises a number of facial and thoracic muscles... great video.
I'm confused... When you do the "ha ha" sound, I thought the stomach should go in with each "ha", since it's an exhalation? Sorry, but I'm new to flute. I really love your videos 😊
I can do it right until I actually play, then its just air and not smooth and I cant get the notes to actually play. Edit: 1:40 same, except I cant make the noise
Best explanation 👌🏻

Great video and explanation. I am currently struggling with getting a clearer articulation. Thanks for the info; it is very helpful!
Your content is super clear. I bought a flute in curiosity. But don't know how to blow. After your video I got idea. 😁👍
Your videos get better and better 😃
Tobias Herrmann thank you! I appreciate that!

Instead of T T T, I tried Th Th Th and it worked.

I can do it right until I actually play, then its just air and not smooth and I cant get the notes to actually play.
