I have to say these are some of the most important exercises you need to know ever! Best thing is they are easy! Take parts of each workout and try it out. You make it as easy or difficult as you want. Take it at your own pace! I'm happy to make this available for all of you who need to take there articulations to the next step in your development.
The Flute Channel Hi, you gave out really vital information, but could you show more examples on Laggato with the Da-Da-Da-Da, since I would want to get better on that
Thank you Emily. This helps me add some variety to my practice sessions so they don't become boring. I hope you and your family are well and safe during this pandemic.
Thank you so much!!! Your videos have been super helpful🥺 I stopped playing the flute for around 2 years, and I’ve gotten a little bit rusty. But thanks to your video tutorials, I’m getting better little by little each day 😌 thank you so much for making these videos! I hope you’re doing good during quarantine. Stay safe!! 💗
This was super helpful. Thank you! These videos with practice advice are particularly welcome these days for those of us amateur players who are stuck at home with extra time on our hands...so we can practice more!
Hi Amelie, thank you for this video! :) I am practicing these exercises but am not sure when to use the different tonguing techniques in pieces. (is there a hard or fast rule or can one just rely on your own feeling here? Can you please explain this perhaps in a later video?
Hello, I am Francisco from Cali Colombia, Thank you very much for your tutorials, I am learning a lot with them, you are a great teacher, my sound and interpretation changes with each clip, I think I finally found a teacher who I understand very clearly everything even though I don't speak english, (this is a google translation) hahaha gracias
As always, I follow your videos with great joy! In this case I find it very difficult with TA, as a young man I started studying the trumpet, which I left after a year for work reasons, but I was left with the instinct to push the tongue towards the lips. The trumpet has a mouthpiece, so the technique is totally different. I have recently tried to study the transverse flute, I find these exercises fabulous but very difficult for me! I have been following you for about 2 years, you are the teacher I have always wanted, a shame about my age and distance ... But I am content to follow your teachings and valuable advice. Thanks for everything you do. A big kiss
My pleasure Mauro! glad to be of help! There will plenty more videos and budget friendly options coming up to be able to learn more and have fun in the TFC community that I'm excited to share with people like you! Happy practicing and all the best!
Hi Amelie, An ardent admirer of your work this side. I have a question, please answer whenever possible. Could the first caprice of Paganini be played by using slurred tounging?
Hello nice video as usual!! Thank you! Could you do a video about the high register? And I want to notice that : I'm French and I didn't find any french UA-cam channel for flute. And I really easily understand your videos even if I'm not really a master in English!
Is it wrong to use the 'ha' syllable? I can't get a clear sound using the tongue, but I'm trying to train my tongue. Also, everytime I use my tongue my mouth gets filled with saliva. Is this normal and is there a way stop it?
I actually used to do the “ha” style back when I first started playing and it isn’t the best technique to use if you want a clear sound. Not to mention certain music requires faster tonguing and using the “ha” style will make you quickly run out of breath. And yes! It’s normal for you to form saliva while tonguing! I had the same problem and would always revert back to the “ha” style because I thought I wouldn’t get it, but if you keep practicing it’ll become easier!
I still dont get .. while tonguing where should be the tongue and how to blow ? I tried this and i canot do anything ..Can you explain me better please ...i have a flute and i love to learn from the best as you are .thx a lot
Of course! Mixing and alternating and be creative with the exercises can help immensely! I hope to make another one with mixing articulations with some of the most common ones.
Hello Emily, I hope you’re having a great day! This isn’t related to the video, but I was wondering if you could help me understand if something is wrong with my flute. I’ve had it for about 6 years now and it’s been fine, but somewhere between my transition from 8th grade to 9th grade my flute started having problems. I’ve had these problems since then, I’m now in eleventh grade. The problems occur above the staff and tone issues in the lower resgister. When I first got my flute, I was able to play a high note with decent tone but, when I take it out of the case now and try to start off with chromatics and Major Scale Arpeggios, all I get is air without any sound when it comes to the high notes. The tone also sounds very bad in comparison to my earlier years. It stays like this for a while and eventually my high notes come out and my tone is a lot clearer than before as if there was nothing wrong in the first place. It’s gotten worse to where I’ve gone an entire class period without playing high notes and it’s very frustrating when I’m trying to practice concert and TMEA region music. If you could give me some insight on if this problem or if I just need a new flute, I’d really appreciate it because it has made my interest in playing go down.
You probably should get your flute repaired or adjusted, because it seems that you have maybe some wind coming out from maybe tiny holes between the keys and the flute holes...

Amelie: (Casually does it in 100 bpm)

Very nice

I have other tonguing video you should check out. It might help out. Happy practicing!
Thanks for this helpfull video! But the hard part still be when all tonguing are mixed, because of the form of the music...
Of course! Mixing and alternating and be creative with the exercises can help immensely! I hope to make another one with mixing articulations with some of the most common ones.
Hi
Which metronome you use?
Seiko Metronome!
Hello, this is a question about tonguing on the flute, I tend to tongue like t t t t, but should I be tonguing with a d?
Learn both. D d d d and t t t t offer different types of articulation for different purposes.
@@flutechannel thanks!
