@@eggbert191 IMO MDT stocks/chassis can be very hit or miss. ACC and ACC Elites are great, LSS, ESS, TAC21 not so much. XRS is a decent KRG bravo competitor.

Drone footage was awesome
The GoPro footage is slick; I filmed the same way at a recent NRL22X match. (But then I realized I keep sticking my tongue out nervously when shooting under time haha).
That was a good clean on the tank trap; I’m still trying to get solid on those.
Have the mdt field stock. I love it for hunting. My only nit pick is I wish the mlok went back farther towards the magwell for tripod work.

I reckon it'd be great for matches to have a drone operator/s working at 800m plus stages through the match providing both definitive hit/miss calls in windy conditions at or when separate gunshots interfere with hearing a hit that doesn't make the target move much. Also great footage for those interested to buying a copy of their stages for analysis/ cool memories, which could help with funding future events or infrastructure improvements. I can see it chewing through batteries for big attendance matches tho so there's that. * edit to include distance.

Great video with terrific views from each camera. I like the description of a lighter rifle being able to see your heartbeat via the reticle. I completely agree a heavier rifle is easier to keep steady. As a hunter, how can I balance the carrying weight to the best shooting weight. Tripod? Just struggle to carry 14 pounds or could a carry extra weights in a pack to add prior to shooting if I have time?

I can definitely relate to it being weird shooting a lighter rifle in competition. I shot a 22-250 in a match a couple weekends ago, and that entire setup was incredibly light. It was a very odd experience compared to my MPA in 6.5 Creed, which weighs considerably more.
very nice. i got a sig cross last year and its pretty nice. wasnt super happy with the 16 in barrel performance though. currently building a 18in LMT in 308. want to start getting into some longer range stuff

Drone video on the 1st stage was cool, but can't do it yourself...
I have the field stock on my 6.5 CM, I like the stock much better than the Magpul hunter stock. The only issue I really have with it is that the Magpul magazines don't latch in like they should. I can only get the aics mags to work reliably in it which is a bit of a bummer.
I have both brands of mags in a Howa SA inlet field stock and I can get the magpul single stacks 10rnd to work but I did notice that there is significant play/ movement with them compared to the MDT AICS 10 rnd double stack poly mag.

Hallo Piet! Geniet jou videos baie. Ek wil hoor sal n .303 iets wees met wat jy sal "speel"? Ek besit een en hou baie van die .303, ongelukkig oorgekoop by familie lid en hy is sporty gemaak so loop is korter gesny wat ek glo jou afstand korter maak. Hoekom ek vra is, ek is baie nuuskierig om te weet tot watter afstand die .303 sal skiet en hoe akkuraat. Jy het die kennis en vermoë om ladings uit te werk en lang afstande te kan skiet. Weet nie of jy n .303 in jou collection het nie, hoop om van jou te hoor.

In die goeie ou dae het hulle Bisley(1000Yards) geskiet met .303 maar die PRS dissipline soek meer presisie op kleiner teikens. Lee-Enfield aksies nie juis gemaak vir super akkuraatheid nie. P14 aksies bied beter akkuraatheid. Piet sal natuurlik iets bou op die beter aksie en loop maar ek is nie seker of hy die tyd en/of geduld het om die beste uit n ou "warhorse" te kry nie. 🙂

New shooter here, why do you say “the only way it would be harder is if it were a .308”? I just bought a SAKO .308 for hunting purposes. Interested to know. Thanks!
.308 would be an okay hunting cartridge. Lots of people still like it. In the PRS (precision rifle series) .308 is considered tactical class with .223. Piet shoots open class. In open class 6mm based cartridges are the top of the game. 6mm dasher and 6mm BR being at the top. There are a few shooters heading to slightly heavier cartridges like .25 creedmoor and 6.5 creedmoor. .308 has more recoil these and doesn’t offer much of any advantages over the other calibers especially the further out in distance you go.
In PRS every at the moment is trending towards straight/match taper barrels and guns that weigh 21-24 lbs. The idea is that if they get a heavy gun and light recoil then they can get steady easier and see their shots under recoil better. They want to see all their shots either impact or miss to adjust.
By all means though go out and find a local 1 day match and try it. The people are nice and your shooting will improve drastically! People will even let you borrow gear. When you sign up just sign up for tac class. You will shoot with everyone else but if there are other tac class guys you will at least be scored in a category with others shooting similar category. If not you will still learn tons from the open guys.

Eye protection Brother, eye protection. You do a ton of shooting, don’t take chances with regards to safety. It’s just not worth it. If something happens and you’re not covered, it’s going to be real bad. I’m not trying to lecture you. Just be safe Pieter.
