Hi there. Totally agree, I Tesla cheats on a lot of stuff. Boot capacity, using cameras instead of sensors (and dismissing the issues), removing stalks/screens and saying that the alternative is even better, asking you to pay almost 8K for something that in EU does not work at all...
On the other-side you have that great efficiency, the best info-entertainment system real one-pedal driving....
I have a 2016 model S and I am not sure what is going to be my next car. I do not mind too much having just one screen, but I would like to have sensors, a real front(hood) camera/360 camera, and a proper turning circle (Teslas are the worst cars maneuvering). My Model S with AP1 does not have the issues of new cars, why go backwards instead of improving existing systems. Lots of Chinese brands are moving from plain sensors to LiDAR systems; whilst Tesla is removing all for a tech that is not intended for that purpose. Even if with AI can manage to make it work it won't be as fast, reliable, accurate as a sensors or LiDAR. (and does not need internet connection or updates)
Scratching the new M3 and MY is really easy with Tesla vision (as many users report, as my neighbor's scratched Model Y bumper testifies)

Thank you for your insight! I feel the same way, it's refreshing to hear it from owners themselves. I also don't understand why Tesla is taking these steps or if it'll be worth it in the long run. I can't go to Tesla precisely because I'm a fan of technology. I need a balanced car and to me mediocrity in everything is more important than being the best in something and unusable (or downright dangerous) in other aspects.
I do wonder if Tesla will take some of this criticism to heart and improve or just go forward fast and furious.. again, personally I don't see this as a good long-term strategy. Of course they do have the most sold model in the world now, but to me it almost feels like hype at this point. And indeed I wonder if many owners will be returning to Tesla for their future models...

@@siasek yep, with the FSD it also seems that they are happy to gamble with people's lives in NA.
And I have some extra concerns with something very important. Batteries.
The Model Y made in Berlin uses BYD LFP batteries. The Model Y can charge up to 250kW in DC. But there is no BYD car with the latest LFP Blade tech that can charge over 150kW (Han/Seal) or the Atto3 only reaches 88kW. BYD has 8y guarantee in batteries, Tesla I believe is 7y.
Is Tesla gambling with the lifespan of the batteries? or BYD is playing safe with their own batteries... it bugs me greatly.
Anyhow, looking forward to having Zeekr or Xpeng here in Spain.

Yea honestly I'm quite surprised that there's not more of an outrage over these issues. They do seem dangerous and if my car did that to me I think I'd be raising hell.
I just looked into the battery thing and based on the info I found, the LFP battery only comes in the Standard Range and the Tesla Y with an LFP Battery has "only" 170 kW DC max. The Tesla Y LR with Panasonic battery has 250 kW DC max and with LG battery has 210 kW DC max

What a great review summing up the differences so clearly. As an EV6 owner the one thing that makes it very special is its appearance, a stunning original design. On a drive to Europe the speed of charging was excellent, just a short break for a coffee. The seats are very comfortable, the only minor issue is the heating as the controls are over complicated. Additionally the GTLS has a sunroof which is very nice when the sun shines!

Hi, I'm so glad you liked my review! The EV6 has excellent charging speed and looks really great! And I remember how comfortable the seats were when I went to check it out at the dealer. What do you mean about the heating? I set mine to 22 degrees in my car and basically never touch the automatic air conditioning again. 🙂

The last Model Y with acceptable driver controls, so be quick because there are no other models from Tesla available anymore . They cal it DECLUTTERING. The reality COST CUTTING. The benefit SHAREHOLDERS. Dumb as !.

The end of the tesla pr department was the red flag for me. Elon Musk doesn’t want to be inhibited from his endless blue sky ‘promises’. His missives are simply headline grabbers > over promising > under delivering.
My Model 3 can’t even be trusted to not speed whilst using AP anymore and the techs told me FSD is proving to be a challenge !!! No sh*t Sherlock!
His latest is that Tesla should be looked on as an energy company. I now read those tea leaves as meaning - oops …..maybe I should have treated the car as being important from a customer standpoint rather than a personal/shareholder wealth machine. Xcommunication awaits those who persist with unacceptable questions also.
    It’s sad.

It must be a weird feeling driving a car that sort of "does its own thing" isn't it? Have you experienced the phantom breaking at all? That has put me off the most I think based on discussions I've read

@@siasek phantom braking is totally unpredictable, although exit ramp cause an attack of ‘the vapours’ fairly regularly. I always drive with the foot on the go pedal in order to avoid brake testing the innocent following.

ugh, it makes me uneasy just imagining this. Seems like you always have to be on high alert while driving. I mean of course, you want to be alert while driving anything, but what you're saying just sounds like a low grade anxiety attack everytime you have to pull out into traffic. It seems insane to me that there's not more lashback!

@@siasek the CEO crudely uses his twitter ownership power to threaten journalists and UA-camrs who seem to think they have some sort of access to product news. Some of the very best from years ago have moved on since the ending of the pr department - sensing the end of any sort of answering or accountability ?.

oh, that's troubling. I don't follow it closely enough to know all that, but I guess it's really best to stick to user discussions and personal experiences when trying to decided on new products.
