2001 Mustang Key Programming: XTOOL D8 or Forscan For PC !?!??!

This is a short video attempting to use the XTOOL D8 to program keys for a Ford Mustang. Unfortunately, the XTOOL would not communicate with the car and I ended up using Forscan to program the keys.

Would the car spin over before the new keys were programmed? I have code p1260 with no crank situation.

depends on the car. for example , i programmed keys for a 2003 Ford Expedition the other day. In the process, I inserted a non-programmed transponder key that set a code that prevented the starter engagement. Once I cleared that code, the vehicle started.

Turned out the harness was unplugged from the transmission.
