X-Men: Evolution is an American animated television series based on the X-Men superhero team appearing in Marvel Comics. The series takes inspiration from the early issues of the source material and follows the X-Men as teenagers rather than adults, as they learn to control their developing mutant powers and face various threats. X-Men: Evolution ran for a total of four seasons comprising 52 episodes from November 4, 2000 to October 25, 2003 on Kids' WB, which made it the third longest-running Marvel Comics animated series at the time, behind Fox Kids' X-Men and Spider-Man. The series was aired on Disney XD from June 15, 2009, to December 30, 2011.

    David: Forgiveness
    Lucas: Resentment
    Ian: Neglect.
All three personalities seem to correlate to Legion's childhood, adolescence and adulthood and how his perception of his absent father evolved through the years.
It's too bad the show was cancelled before we got to see the resolution of this arc.

An AMAZING episode! It's a shame this season was so short and there wasn't a 5th season to continue this storyline.

I didn't even know that was Legion because he doesn't look anything like Legion he looks like David Bowie if he went to Hot Topic they should've at least gave him frosted tipped black hair they don't need to give him the stupid Wayne Static of the band Static X looking hair he has in the comics just give something that makes him look at all like Legion

For Professor Xavier, this is a Very emotional episode, Not only did he find out that he had a son that he never met, But that he's in danger and tried to help him only to find out that His efforts were in vain, He never got the chance to really know who his son was, And by the time you realized what had happened it was too late, Professor x is one of the most compassionate characters In General, So this must have been truly heartbreaking for him.

They had plans for Legion to reappear in season 5, but it unfortunately never happened.
This was 1 of the few Claremont characters to never appear in xmen tas. So ofcourse they jumped on the opportunity. It was also my first exposure to him in any medium.

It's nice having a reminder that Chuck is a good man. As soon as he hears he has a kid he didn't know about in trouble, he gets ready to go and help. It's also nice seeing his adoptive kids and friends there for him.

This is oddly the one episode I distinctly remember from this show.. and because of that I assumed it wasn't in the *last season* lol
It honestly was so freaky to me that David had multiple personalities that each had seemingly different levels of mastery of powers.. also.. not sure if he actually shifted his whole body or he just projected his appearance outwardly telepathically..

This is the only time Legion has ever been in an X-Men Cartoon.

I do agree that Cyclops and Jean could've held their ground a lot longer against Lucas/Legion based on how well they work as a team like last time when they are trying to enter the X mansion during the house party Deafcon 4. It is also based on how much powerful they become during the show's progress from season one to now

Can someone please explain to me what makes a mutant? Like how is it different from other superhero’s. Thanks!!

Mutants are born with a special thing in their DNA called, the "X-Gene". This is what gives them their powers.

Mutants are born with an X-gene and their powers generally manifest around puberty or trauma. Hope that helps😎

Innate superpower genetics as opposed to radiation, chemicals, super serum, study of magic, utilization of technological tools, peak mastery to the limits of what a normal human body can do in a select field, military training, etc.

If we separate Aliens, Maigc Users, badass normals and tech users, superhumans within the Marvel Universe typically can be divided into 3 groups Mutates, Mutants and Inhumans.
Mutates, such as Spider Man, are born normal humans and develop powers due to an event that bestows powers upon them.
Both Mutants and Inhumans are born with genetic markers that can be triggered to give them powers, however inhumans require contact with terrigin to trigger the change, whereas Mutants will naturally develop their powers at some point, usually during puberty.
I'm not fully sure but I think there is some grey area for children of Mutates such as Mayday Parker, I think she is a second generation Mutate instead of a Mutant but don't qoute me on that.
