Bored men sitting around with nothing to do after putting in a hard day's labor tend to resort to destructive behavior. Fights would break out, some may go stir crazy and look to escape, etc. Mike knew they needed recreational distractions. It's not compassion so much as common sense and enlightened self-interest.

Showmakers understand, what companies don't. As Mike said, you don't just keep your working people alive, they need to be provided with a life of their own. Even when a lot of money is on the table, it doesn't keep you sane if you would be doing nothing but work for months on end without any fun and change between work hours. I could easily see myself in such a closed community for a while, if I got everything needed to keep myself entertained. Although one crucial element might be missing - I love to go biking, long tours. But for a lucrative job, I think I could keep this down for a while. =)
In New York State having 2 double wide trailers in a warehouse, living like that would be a dream. Just open the garage door in the winter get enough speed to go in the warehouse or leave the warehouse. Don't have to shovel snow or use snow blower or plow. Just need a awd or 4wd, V6 or V8 engine.
Would it not have been a good idea to truck these people, every couple months, to a beach in California for a week's time, for some real vacations and not just a night out at a local bar? Much better operational security and much better vacation too. Could have prevented the Zeigler incident

It's not so much that he cares, but that's he practical about what the workers will need. Fail to attend to those needs and it will cause problems, jeopardizing the project. Bored men sitting around with nothing to do after putting in a hard day's labor tend to resort to destructive behavior. Fights would break out, some may go stir crazy and look to escape, etc. Mike knew they needed recreational distractions. It's not compassion so much as common sense and enlightened self-interest.
The construction of Cajun-kickassland was definitely one of my favorite moments in the show, vravo bince!
This was the Walter Fring that Mike Bukowski became moment
Heartbreaking to know that Mike's visionary plan to include a biergarten and home theater system did not, in fact, prevent the Germans from climbing the walls 😢
The way they explain how they built the lab would work very well if they ever make a Batman show to explain how the Batcave came to be. Switch out Mike for Alfred and Gus for Bruce.
It wasn't a fake village, it was a comfortable secure place to house the workers
Mike explains to Gus how to be a human locked in isolation working nonstop
1:28
knowing Mike and his trustworthy/careful nature we can assume he did indeed make the list and subsequently checked it twice
subtle, but this is the moment Mike Ehrmentraut becomes Santa Claus
Los House of Germanos
Lovv how "Gus" respects "Mike". Good writing, great acting.
This is the moment the Warehouse had a Fake Village
it wasn't a fake village, it was simply a secure and comfortable housing quarters
Imagine if this was Walt’s hideout instead of the little shack in New Hampshire
When you think about it, after all that work, the lab didn't pump out product all that long, relatively speaking.
Man I even loved Tyrus in this show. Every actor has such a powerful presence in this show.
What construction worker hits the treadmill after a 10 hour day?
Showmakers understand, what companies don't. As Mike said, you don't just keep your working people alive, they need to be provided with a life of their own. Even when a lot of money is on the table, it doesn't keep you sane if you would be doing nothing but work for months on end without any fun and change between work hours.
I could easily see myself in such a closed community for a while, if I got everything needed to keep myself entertained. Although one crucial element might be missing - I love to go biking, long tours. But for a lucrative job, I think I could keep this down for a while. =)
Seeomg this kind of thing in "Control" now makes more sense.
How is wholesale different from consumer?
Because it'll be easier to replace wholesale than consumer.
All you had to do is blow it up,
Now we understand what Mike meant and how much this Lab meant to him.
A short hand for the show was "Process". The show covered the process of doing anything. What most shows skip, this show showed us in grave detail.
Those two work super well together
Why is the audio muffled?
For me, this was definitely where Season 4 started to pick up! Beforehand, it was probably one of the slower seasons of the show
Lol, I wasn't expecting to see you here
@@Theshyguy67 Yeah I'm a huge fan of Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul lol!
Good times, memories. Cheers for that.
This place looked like a minecraft village generated in a superflat world
i love the Tyrus character
Would it not have been a good idea to truck these people, every couple months, to a beach in California for a week's time, for some real vacations and not just a night out at a local bar? Much better operational security and much better vacation too. Could have prevented the Zeigler incident
I’ll be sure to tell the writers before they write the rest of the season lol
@@MegaZeta act quick before so that ziegler doesnt have to die!
Didn’t they just get done saying they’d be doing 10 hours of hard labor a day? And he starts with treadmills?
For 10 months Europeans starved off of nookie. Mike should've taken some precautions regarding that too
Well, he did take them to a strip club.
they had each other, its their own fault really
I commented that Mike took them to a "club" but UA-cam deleted it
Mike probably would've ordered them some Real Dolls.
@@MobKnowledge "these guys are going to tear right through consumer grade"
tyrus going to costco getting 6 treadmills 500 lbs of weights basketball pool tables ect ,
Mike going all out for the good stuff! 😁
lol i just noticed he asked for wholesale treadmills instead of consumer ones… wholesale IS consumer. i think the script writer meant commercial
What infection was Tyrus talking about?
Hector's
@TrashcanTrounbadour it's about hector
This reminds me so much of Higgs Village from Old World Blues
Imagine a real construction project where Mike was the project manager and Werner was the construction manager. It would come in under budget and in programme.
Tyrus has to be very intelligent to remember everything Mike listed, Gus only hires the best of the best
I could absolutely live here
imagine ur body hurting like hell after 8 hours on ur feet doing hard labour and thinking the guys have the strength or even will to go on a treadmill....these are construction workers not space station crew that require their daily exercise.
German construction workers. The cultural difference does make an impact - Germans can work for a long time and still find joy in exercising. Mike had the right ideas across the board.
No I think thats just a you problem, the concept of exercise is beyond you.
They're German construction workers so they'll need there prayer rugs, turbans & halal food 🤠
@@costilla1212 unfunny
The best motivation is to show WW2 films on bombed out cities, and tell them if they don’t work hard, their ancestors will not forgive them
Gus is like "uhh idk" but at least he listened
I love this show!
"These guys will tear right through consumer grade", what did he mean by this 😂
they invented liminal spaces with this one
oh
oh
Keep doing this! This is what America needs!
Tyrus must have a damn good memory, id forget mikes list in a heartbeat lol
This was the moment Walter white planned his next chemistry lesson with his students (probably)
best relationship in the shows
Am I the only person thinking this set up is pretty cool, like I’d live willingly in the finished product
Werner zeigler "HAD TO RUIN IT ALL WITH HIS WIFE AND HIS LOYALTY" 🤣
Mike has an oddly soothing voice.
This is how batman got his bat cave built!
I'm not sure which show was better. I like the characters, situations, and scenery of this show more, but I also would not have watched it were it not for Breaking Bad.
Man i know its different situations imagine they didn't provide a little of this entertainment for jesse and walt, it would've been cool to see jesse and walt getting at it in games
