- It's common advice to hear that everything should be in done in moderation - but author Michael Easter takes a look at why that can be hard to do in his new book, "Scarcity Brain." Easter studies what's called the "scarcity loop," which drives us to repeat behaviors and is an evolutionary development humans have had since the beginning of time. Michelle Miller has more.

I haven't read Scarcity Brain yet, but his last book The Comfort Crisis, is one of the best books I've ever read. The title is maybe a bit misleading whereas the subtitle, "Embrace Discomfort to Regain Your Wild, Happy, Healthy Self," really captures the essence of the book. It's more about solutions than problems.
Really insightful book!
Fascinating! It seems impossible to get away from all these external distractions though.
Being aware is a 1st step
Great segment. Thanks 🇲🇦
There is a potential drawback in "things in moderation" is a disorder where we ration what we eat and how much calories, etc and people become too focused on the calculation. But again it is better than overdoing stuff
