On the 100 horse Massey Ferguson I had an easy off loader. On or off in about 4 minutes. Worked like a charm. It came with a bucket and a single spike attachment. It was a good auction buy and I sold it for more than I paid for it. Talking in the late 80's. I really like your videos.
The scale involved with farming in the U.S. is hard to imagine for those of us in Ireland. I love these videos as it gives me the chance to learn about how other folk farm. Keep up the good work
@@briansonne814 and in England but would love to do a season in U.S. I think What you do is pretty awesome. I spent 2 years in New Zealand and loved it. I was able to use a T9 ideal Combine that was cool.
10:00 I take the loader off when I go mowing, when I’m done I put it back on to fill the feed mixer, it takes like 4minutes max in total to take it off and put it back on
The people that ask those questions are probably playing Farming Sim and just press the Q to detach the front loader :) But it's good to educate people.
Rocks are a winter cover crop because every spring more rocks show up that grew under the snow all winter long, don’t even need to plant them. That’s why I leave the bucket on so I can fill it when mowing.
do what make sense to your farm. let the others do what ever they want to do. I love your channel like living my old farm life through you guys. Blessing's Herby
I even leave the bucket on when I’m brush hogging. I can pick up a loader bucket full of rocks in no time in south central Missouri while I’m cutting brush/weeds.
Love the rant about taking off the loader. I have never actually taken mine off, but if the dirt bucket is on, I will take it off before mowing or raking to improve visibility.
Cole...them dang rock fairies were really busy having a laugh or three. Back in my lad days any time I broke anything on a rock in the field, Grandpap John would yell 'stop pissing off them rock fairies.' That response was much better then most others...if you follow my drift. As to your college friend...he's out spending money trying to impress and you be busy making money. Great video. Stay safe - be well - many blessings.
I gave you guys a shut out on one on welkor farms a few days ago. I think they would enjoy you as well as their avid viewers of which i am one and am also an avid viewer of you guys as of the last few weeks when i discover your channel! I think you will be one of the big ones! Absolutely love your channel and will try and keep getting the word out about you. Thanks for the videos!
Actually your viewers aren’t all farmers. I enjoy your videos and I live in Florida. Love the videos. Keep up the drone work and I appreciate how much effort you put in your job with your dad and your editing in your videos! I watch every ad! Also I’m a medical marijuana patient and your videos are perfect to get medicated to 🥱
I am just glad to know that I am not the only one that picks up rocks every time through the pasture. Spent much of my childhood doing it so I guess it stuck
Another kick ass video, no matter what you and pops are doing its always entertaining. The other Cole needs to watch and learn from this channel. Only thing I was disappointed in was there were no jokes or words of wisdom from pops . 🤣Maybe in the next one. Keep it up, the content is top notch !!
Great to see that you and your Dad have a lot of respect for each other, I have seen too many farming sons believe that Dad is a silly old fool and that they know better. This usually ends in a clearing sale
Good looking alfalfa. Can’t be taking the loader off and on all the time. No need of it. Jeff is like myself and takes up a lot of room On a tractor. We need more Jeff in the videos. The bit of him beating that thistle was hilarious. God bless y’all
Maybe those are meteorites your finding🤔not rock's 😁 Have you ever found any crop circles in your Korn?😂 awesome video, take video when you eat your shrum🍄👍
I’ve got a 600 head cattle ranch and 400 acre citrus grove in Myakka City Fl we do things completely different we don’t do to much with hay . We do have a guy who comes in and bales our hay on halves . We fence off our woods and let them have that during the winter because when it frost it stays on top of the trees we call it a hammock . Anyway I love you guys operation and you have some very nice looking cattle .
My loader tractor (7520) is also my raking tractor and I take it off for field work. Easy on and easy off and better visibility without it on. Just personal preference I think?
I hadn't said anything about it (yet). But thx for the graphite. It keeps my earholes from bleedin. Also I'd tie a 5 gal bucket or to on the tongue or rake for rock collection. Cab glass is spensive.
I have a jd 4235 I use for raking , baling and moving round bales. I have had this JD for 10 years and have never taken the loader arms off the tractor.
Awesome videos. As regards to taking the loader on and off we do it all the time as it only takes 2 minutes but then i guess its smaller farms here in the uk so less space to move around
A lot of people do remove the loader daily doing hay work here , I never take mine off as like you I use the bailer tractor with the loader on to shift bales as soon as it’s bailed
Keep explaining/teaching what you do on the farm- that is most likely why so many watch them! I watch Cole the Cornstar, 10th Generation dairyman, Saskdutchkid and Sonne Farms to learn about farming; all them have different techniques and needs, I don' think you need to apologize for the way you do things!
thankyou I realize that some things can slip through the cracks here and not all get done to everyones approval. But our priority is to our livestocks and getting our crops taken care of in a timely fashion.
great video cole were the heck did all of those rocks come from suprised that there was no damage done to the machines and good thing you spotted all those rocks
Our loader has an accumulator on it. Makes the ride a lot smoother so it is not coming off soon ;) Might take the bucket with you next time to throw the stones in it.
if you put a bucket on the front while you rake, you can put the rocks in there instead of keeping them in the cab. the additional weight out front might reduce the boucies
I didn't notice the bucket on the front. I'm not a farmer. But when I heard the question that was asked about it, I wondered too. I didn't associate the bucket with those big pickemup bars. But I have seen you use them on many videos. You do this stuff as a part of your life and livelihood, so it is natural to you. You should be happy people ask "dumb" questions. It shows their interest. I am glad you dont mention names of the people who ask. it could stop them from watching because they might get embarrassed. That's all I got to say about that...
I hear ya on not taking off the loader I Bale with a loader tractor then turn around n pick em up with the same tractor, I usually just lift my arms up when I'm baling so I can see the swath better
The look on your face every time you go over one of those huge bumps/holes in the field is priceless. Too bad all those rocks you picked up aren’t worth any money.
About your question you got in taking the Loader On & Off, those are people that just do not understand the complete operations of what happens during all the different parts of what is needed during Haying season.
If you see one of my tractors with the loader off, you know it's broke down. Lol, I use them to much to go thru that too. Great video and stay safe out there
First thing, Congrats to ur family for the baby girl on the way, and Brain those grandbabies are the best thing ever. As for the loader deal, in my case that would just give me an excuse for when another tractor showed up on the farm, haha, have great day and be safe, thanks for another great video
You should switch the the forks on the loader to a bucket when you're raking like that so you have somewhere to put your rock friends unless you like keeping them in the cab lol
Our loader is on and off in literally a minute it has a fast-coupling mechanism on it. So thats maybe why the guy asked why you aren't taking the loader off👍
Its still not done in a minute both of my big tractors have the quick hydros release and you still have to put the bucket on for weight we have a big spear on for hayseason that takes time next put the 🦵 down and unhook the pins then release it from the hydros only to come back a day or two later to put it back on then take the bucket off put the 🦵 back up and put the spears back on 1200 acres 3 times a year that is an absolute waste of time either way you try it
I think the large holes are badgers digging up gophers . Dig em up eat them go to next colony. They are fiesty . 3rd Alfalfa cut looks great come winter the cattles will be happy.
Yes it is excessive to take the loader off. My husband at the age of 70 fitted a new loader, the loader manufacturer was so impressed they included his one man achievement in their advertising blurb. It was nothing like building with lego bricks getting that fitted.
It is certainly a waste of time taking the loader off the front. My dad never took the loader off their tractor.
We don't even have that style of loader on the tractor in question
@@SonneFarms I don't think he means it takes Tine to take off he means that you will only put back on soon after because picking bales up
Neither do we take front loader off we wanted a loader Tractor so why take it off!

Thank you! You too!

I instantly thought the same thing! Lol
In fairness, most newer loaders can be taken off in a couple of minutes.
@@andyrooiam that is true, I believe that is an older 740 loader, however, which can be a pain. and its super simple/easy to take off just the bucket.
Work smarter not harder.

Keep doing what works for Sonne Farms. Thanks for another great video 😊
Now imagine a whole field, with nothing but those rocks. Welcome to New England.
The Dakotas were a boulder field when our ancestors homesteaded. Rocks were the only thing guaranteed to come up.
At least you have those beautiful stone walls everywhere because of that.
Rocks are a winter cover crop because every spring more rocks show up that grew under the snow all winter long, don’t even need to plant them. That’s why I leave the bucket on so I can fill it when mowing.
