Ricky, I think I can speak for all of us when I say you’d be doing us an injustice by not building this on the channel. You can even do a father son build again! Get your son involved!

I would love to see the AE86 be built from the ground up on the main channel and two tone color it kinda like the initial d car(doesnt have to be exact obviously) it would look fantastic you guys always do such a great job on every car and nobody really touches older cars nowadays

Would LOVE to see this built on the channel! Throtl would do amazing things with the car. You guys already do a lot of themed builds, especially for F&F. But if you guys started doing other builds, like turning this into Takumi's AE86 from Initial D, would catch a lot of attention! Turn it into a drift machine with the 4AG-E 2.0L... Build it Bunta-Spec! Would make an AMAZING addition to the Throtl Fleet! I know Micky would probably get excited by the idea of building a car like that~ Maybe even do a RHD conversion on the car to make it USDM/JDM? There's so many options! This is just my opinion, but would LOVE to see the garage get their paws on this one! Love the AE86!
Mira! Finish the Miata and then all hands on deck on the 86. That's such a special car, I feel like sticking to its roots and going original engine is only fair. Modifying a timeless classic would feel like an injustice to it
The new Corolla GR motor would be nice too. I’d assume it would be a bit pricey, but more than enough power for that chassis. Finding a wrecked one to swap over into the 86.

Ricky, an NA silvertop 4AGE with ITBs from an AE110 would be a great engine to throw in. Reliable, sounds amazing, has the ability to go up in power, revs to the moon, all the good stuff. I think having a more “normal” car would be a great choice compared to the rotary madness.

What I love about Rickey, is his default engine pick being the 13B. I can always count on him to choose a 13b as an initial engine to put in his vehicles, even if he does not put it in, in the end. I like that about him😊

Yes!!! Build a 7age! I’m currently in the process of doing it. 7afe block with the 4age head. Longer stroke. Would be a great build on the channel for sure.

HELL YA!!! I love all the throtl content, but I sometimes feel like some of the more cars us “common folk “ have don’t really ever get seen on the channel.. lol for example…. Some TL’s, scions, just cars like that, be nice to see some like OEM + things done

It would be awesome to see you build the Corolla on the channel. I love the idea of making it a nice daily car. It’s really neat to see the brand new cars and one off parts or prototype parts used on the channel but would be awesome to see something maybe a little more reasonable (financially) to most of the viewers you have. I was hoping the $300 300zx was going to be that build but you’ve taken that thing and are making it a super nice show car. Love the content though! Have a nice day.

I would love to see a ricky styles build on the AE86. Maybe you and or quinn can rebuild the 4AGE motor, those sound sooo good! maybe a little ITB action? Beams and k20/24 would be easier and more powerful but i really love the original motor. Wouldnt blame you either way. 13B would be cool but i think for Daily duty and reliability the 4 cylinder would be better. Maybe you and your Son could do a little father son build on it!

That 86 deserves to be brought back on the road. I would love to see the full build from start to finish. Go Beams or the stock 1600cc, you said it yourself you already have too many rotaries, and you want to use it as a daily anyway.

Totally want to see the AE86 build on the channel. As for engines let the miata keep the rotary, and as good as the beams is and sounds loads of UA-camrs are doing that or have done that recently. I’d love to see a fully built 1600 motor. But whatever you decide it’s gonna be awesome 🚗💨
Boricua over here, I remember my brother having an '81 liftback Corolla in the late '80's. 1.8 Twin Cam with Makuni ITB's it is the only way to go with that AE86

Yes, this is an amazing project, you should do a father son build. I can see a kind of resto mod original looking car with all the modern components to make it a really fun car to drive and a beauty on the road

Do the build, and I would love to watch. Keep the 4 age motor it will be the best. If you can turbo that motor, it will run strong. That is my thoughts on the idea, but all ideas aside, you do you we as the followers we will watch and support your idea. 👍👍

I stumbled across throtl for the Z32 build but would definitely continue watching/subscribing for an AE86 build.
Saw a panda style 2JZ swap years ago but the guy didn't like it, no traction till 3rd lol
I'd personally like to see a modern day drive train for a daily driver setup.
Considering that car is rear wheel drive, the engine that will be fun to be put in this car is the 3TC. The 3TC can be bored to a 2 liter that will scream. Put a dirt track killer in the engine bay.

I think that would be a dope ass build!!! A supercharged BEAMS would be different, I know Blitz has a kit for that engine.
Initial D Ricky stick with the 1.6L na and fit the AE101 20V cylinder head running throttle boddies

You should put the 1st gen MR2 supercharged, 4AGZE, into it!! It's a quick, drop in, and clean install!!

Yes do it on the channel so I can pick some ideas for my hatch and coupe.
If you were planning on rebuilding or getting a new bottom end for the 4age, I would recommend that you get a 7afe bottom end. The 4age head bolts to it and the whole thing bolts straight in to an 86. Just because the 7afe's are cheaper and you'd get a little better torque.
definitely build thev HACHI ROKU! If your going to daily drive it, Cant beat that Toyota reliability. Go for the 4AGE, BEAMS 3SGE or the 2ZZGE. they can be used with the J160 Altezza gearbox, Or a W58

Way cool video I miss the home garage . It was only a couple of times before I seen it. Anyways yes 86 field would be cool I would put hurts motor in it and then in the Miata I would definitely put the rotary because you don't really have to trip on gas mileage because it's a race car. And it has the wow factor. Ricky styles for life!!!!!!!

mix parts from 4agze, 7afe and 20 valve 4age then have a boosted 1800cc (supercharged or turbo) 👌🏼
Do a beams or a k swap in it if you want it reliable and with some power. That’s a dream car right there.
4AGE 1600 n 7AGE 2000 is iconic really even Drift king love them it also easy to maintenance. yes please

The Rolla would be nice to see built, I enjoy the older car builds rather than newer stuff. The beams of you can get it relatively cheaply would seem to make sense, by the time you build the 1600 and allow for some project creep you could be at similar $ with a less potent engine. Was also thinking 2uz after seeing Sarah n tuned's celica project, but kinda like the idea of a high revving 4 cylinder.
Ricky the best na motor swap for this car is a 4age 20v black top. Itbs more hp then stock and so fun. And if your building it go to battle garage or mrp ltd in new Zealand barry manon us awesome and specializes in 4age stuff and 86 stuff. Swap is super easy just need to convert wiring. Which battle garage had a halech wire harness set up for blacktop 20v 86 conversion. I being the owner of 3 ae92 coupe 88 corolla gts. I have 20v st and friend had ²0v blacktop. This is the way to go for na daily fun. And the itb scream is amazing

Hey Ricky you should buy a 7afe bottom end and then slap on the 16valve 4age head on it and then deck the head a bit, port and polish it.

3rz will almost bolt directly in there that will be a totaly different build very strong engine an they don't mind boost plus its a 2.7 liter. Australians are doing a ton with that engine

I've always wanted to build a 20v 4G with individual throttle bodies. Maybe a SR20 easy to get parts and still give you good power.
would love to see what the flavor you did with a AE86, wonder if a modern toyota V6 would fit in it. or a newer 86 drive train in it.
you should also think about dropping a 4agze which is a supercharged version that will drop right in or a 5 valve silver or black top
Look, this AE86 is in similar conditions to the 300ZX, the process of restore that nissan has been taking long time but people still there, watching it, 'cause that what throtl is about, people love that PROJECTS. So, If the throtl team would build up that AE86, whatever it will be the engine, bodykit, hp, etc, people definitely will love it ❤.
