Thank you for articulating how problematic Marcus' behavior in this episode is! I've been screaming the same things since the episode came out. People kept taking about how perfect Marcus is and I was like NO! That was so manipulative. Plus, he totally ignored what Simon wanted. So many red flags. Wilhelm isn't perfect. Simon isn't perfect, and Marcus sure as hell isn't either.
I may hate Marcus more than I hate August. Because everyone gets how terrible August is. But too many people defend Marcus!

@julia kanes The thing that infuriates me more than words can express is that Marcus then proceeds to tell his family, Simon's family, and most of Bjärstad that he and Simon are fully a couple (which completely goes expressly against Simon's wishes). I'm sure that Marcus is a good person and friend, but he is a BAD partner. When I think about it, Marcus meets some of the qualifications for an emotionally abusive partner. Maybe he has Borderline Personality Disorder. There is definitely some overlap in some of his behavior and BPD symptoms. I hope season 3 doesn't go with that though. I'd HATE that. I honestly worry about his true motives with Simon all along though. Regardless, as season 2 has gone on and on, I've started to hate Marcus. If he and Simon (or even a character I like) get together, I'm going to be MAD. Simon needs to tell someone how Marcus treated him. I hope Simon starts seeing Dr. Boris when the the media stess shit storm inevitably hits the fan. Dr. Boris could explain to Simon how not okay Marcus' behavior was and Simon could get get healthier views/expectations of romantic relationships after the turmoil of his parents', his and Wilhelm's initial one, and his and his and Marcus' "relationship". I know, TLDR, but both my parents escaped abusive marriages, so I've been going off on the red flags of this shit so people will stop finding the behavior and people like Marcus romantic.

Id like to point out that he was talking about Marcus in that scene with Rosh and Ayub…also he said “jag fattar inte varför jag kan inte bli kär i honom” or something similar which they translated in English to “I don’t get why I can’t be in love with him” but the word “kär” doesn’t really mean love in that sense. It’s more like “to have strong romantic feelings” so he’s basically saying he does t understand why he can’t feel something for Marcus like he does for Wille

I love how they implied here, or well made it pretty clear, that Eric wasn't doing all that good with his role either. That he struggled too with the pressure. That it's not just Wille feeling pressured as much but his brother just had a lot of struggles too although being raised into it. I think it changed a lot for Wille to know that.
I so agree. And I really hope that when we get season 3 they will allow us to get a better understanding of Eric's emotional state. I just get the feeling they are setting the scene for us to learn more about Eric and I am not ready because I believe there are probably going to be even more secrets revealed. Or I could be completely wrong. LOL

Yeaah! In the flashback scene is episode 2 (season 2) were Jan-Olof and Malin came to take Wille away and the snow globe break, Erik also said "At least you don‘t have to be Crown Prince" which at least implies that he didn‘t enjoy this role either:(
One thing I will say about Marcus, once you see a red flag, if you rewatch l, you will start seeing others. Like him going into Simon’s room uninvited, him forcing Simon to sing karaoke. He’s very pushy.

@@RaineInChaos I’ve actually thought his primary interest in Simon was the idea that he was taking him form a prince. I don’t know that that is why he went into his bedroom but you may be on to something. I mean, it’s not like his family just started leasing the land to Hillerska but he doesn’t seem to have a friendship with Sara prior to the release of the video. Maybe he befriended her to get close to Simon.
And while I think the red flags are kind of subtle if you don’t know what to look for, I think he would probably end up being very controlling and abusive. I just really can’t stand him.

I liked him (against my will haha) up until that point, but I really don't know how so many people seem to still like him after that. Marcus truly gaslighted Simon. He completely dismissed everything Simon was saying and just ignored his boundaries. Like wtf?! Red flag! I think Marcus definitely manipulated Simon into keeping their relationship going because Simon is so confused right now and in a vulnerable place.
Sara and August threw me off during this episode too! I think this show is so good at showing us intimate moments that we were tricked into feeling for them ☺️.
I think that Felice and Wilhem scene is one of those mistakes friends make when they're feeling lonely. Hopefully, they're mature enough to talk it out and get past it.

I’m absolutely in love with Omar’s voice. One little tidbit that blew me away was that when he performs the song in full for E4 and E5, he sang it there in the scene. The vocal wasn’t recorded in studio later…so when you hear how good he is in those scenes, that’s him for real. He’s so insanely talented as a singer and is incredible in Young Royals. He deserves all the success and opportunities that come to him!!!
Wille tries to recreate with Felice as Simon did with Marcus. And both have to realize it's not working.
Exactly, since they can't be together they try to recreate situations they had together with others (Simon/Marcus watching horror movie; Wille/Felice "I want you to hold me" comfort cuddles leading to more), to recreate the feeling, but it's not working for either of them.
You are right on the money about Marcus. Simon made it very clear that he didn't want anything serious anytime soon. Marcus wouldn't take no for an answer.
Yep, you called it. HUGE red flag! I could relate to your reaction. Thank you for calling out Marcus' emotional manipulation and gaslighting of Simon! Marcus discards Simon's feelings because HE wants the relationship. Even worse, he brings up and uses all Simon's deepest heartaches about Wilhelm, Simon's father, the effect on his mother to manipulate him into staying! It really made me SO angry and annoyed! It's also REALLY bothered me that so many people watching the show seem to miss how manipulative Marcus is and keep saying 'poor Marcus, look at the terrible way Simon is treating him/leading him on'. But Simon tried to be honest with Marcus and said he wasn't ready for a serious relationship and didn't know if he ever would be. Then Marcus rocks up to the rowing and deliberately kisses Simon and makes out that they're together in front of Wilhelm!!! He is NOT an innocent victim! Also, Simon is just not freely or truly himself with Marcus and rarely seems happy. I don't like it. I'm not a fan of Marcus or his relationship with Simon. Wilhelm and Simon will always be endgame for me. I LOVE them together! Seeing Wilhelm's heartache after seeing the kiss and believing Simon has moved on, looking at the photos of them happy together, his desolation as walked alone and listened to 'Lonely Ones' ... was heart-breaking! OMG I'm so emotionally invested in this show and in Wilhelm and Simon finding their way back to one another!

Omar does have the sweetest voice, that scene where he plays piano and sings to his teacher i HAD GOOSEBUMPSS. His voice is so soft and beautiful
I found the Wille/Felice scene pretty believable (esp for teenagers, and the situation and their emotional circumstances, history...) and have come to be really glad they got it out of their system. Like, they were for real at least once really Going There and testing it out, so in the end no doubt could linger about what they both want. Also thought Edvin and Nikita really pulled it off.
But yeah, at the beginning when it ~Went There I absolutely squeaked "oh no" for a second. Then just clung to my trust for the show and actors to carry me through, lol, and didn´t actually mind it, and knew it had its function when you just got through that Dark Mid-Season Ttunnel. (I´d binged almost non-stop through all the pain by that point and was probably kind of beyond resistance in an "it´s all pain" zen zone maybe, so that could also be a factor) But, yeah, multiple feelings all throughout this season? Hell yes. (I mean, they made me go "aww" at Sara/August at one point! this show pfft.) Quality Content.

OMG I just can't wait for Adams reaction to episode 4! So much stuff happens in that episode, including character growth! I'm also really happy that Wilhelm finally went to a therapist.👏So many people go to one and they don't even have the extra pressure of being a public figure, let alone being a 16 year old crown prince with a shit ton of expectations and trauma about his brother and the sex tape...
I really shipped Sara and August. August seems to care genuinely about her. And she's clearly not after reputation or any of his assets which is completely new to August. I mean, he's not even getting a lot of affection of whatever from his Mom. So having someone to talk to, to like him, while at his lowest, it seemed to do him good. August seems so much more at ease, even defends Simon after the lost match, rightly so stating its been for nothing. He even puts down his pills and I really hated the royal backup shit for him, as its this moment the whole pressure comes back to him. He never learned he can get love and acknowledge without this status and now he's falling right back into it.

Tbh I kind of liked August in that episode. Like what he said to Vincent after the rowing - protecting Simon and the tea that followed?! Yeah he made a BIG mistake last season, but I feel like he realised that as well and wants to get better, though no one (except for maybe Sarah) is giving him a chance. And that no one thought about him probably being next in line after Wille?! In season 1 they said he was Willes second cousin, so, with his dead father as the Queens cousin and no other sibilings of the Quen, he probably is the next in line of succession ... (right?)
Also Henry is slowly becoming one of my favourite side characters of this show! He seems to be a real friend for Wille, even though Wille does not seem to realise. And his reaction at the end when he walked into the room? I repeated that so many times and laughed every single time.
And for Felice and Wille - yeah I kind of prefer them as friends as well, but this felt really natural for me and not forced at all. They just needed the support and intimacy in that moment. And it showed that Wille might also be interested in women, just saying. Not that this information would change a lot as in my opinion he is destined to be with Simon 😄

I am with you about August. Everyone seems to love hating him, but for me he's not the worst character this season. There are two other's I disliked much more. Henry seemed nice until the next episode. The shit he pulled off (table scene) just isn't cool.

Marcus is a big fat ass red flag, definitely! I was so uncomfortable watching that entire scene, it gave me some big triggers, not a fan of that.
Also Sarah and August, I have trouble with that, I think they do really like each other, but they are not meant to be? Like, August has to became a hole different person so he could be great for Sarah, and Sarah should realize that, the way it is, is just another toxic relationship.
While and Felice, ugh! Not for me. I love their friendship and I totally get he was confused and hurt, but it is not fair with her. I rather them as friends, cause it works a lot better.

About Erik and the psychologist ... Nils said Erik talked to him and that´s probably true then, but Erik was not queer, he was straight (that is at least hinted) but he probably had lots of things to talk to a counsellor/psychologist about, peoples expectations, media pressure, parents demands and much more, but i think it was important for Wilhelm to hear that Erik also needed to talk to Boris.
About Wille and Felice ... well, maybe i´m a little disturbed ... 😆😁 but i quite liked their little kiss ... 🤩☺ I thought maybe they could find a "deeper understanding" or something ... 😏🤭😅 but OK, I get it ... I also really want "Wilmon" as endgame ... 😃 🏳🌈
The "cock blocker" is Henry, he is best friend with Walter. In season 1 Henry and Walter tried to talk to Wilhelm during dinner when Wilhelm told them they were allowed their own opinions ... and Henry talked in class about the high taxes that resulted in his father having it difficult to make their business profitable. Simon commented then about the huge financial support he got from EU ... (European union)... Henry is noble born since he is in the same brotherhood society as August, Vincent and Wilhelm, ("noble and first born male") so their business must be som huge manor with lots of land...🙄🤮🏰
Erik is more than likely straight since in the first episode the girls with Sara are gossiping about "Erik and that Only Fans girl" while they were going on about royal gossip.

I don't know if you're getting the lyrics for the song in the subtitles, but they should be there. Maybe in the other kind of subtitles (the CC ones?). Also, Simon's song is on Spotify with that name and there's a playlist for YR as well.

5:06 - you interpreted this scene wrong. Simon was telling his friends how he just doesn't feel it with MARCUS and that he doesn't know why he can't just have feelings with marcus. We're able to see here that simon can't replicate his feelings for wilhelm to marcus or try to move on emotionally.

I never thought Wilhelm could be bisexual. It was a surprise because I always imagined that he was strictly homosexual with difficulty accepting himself in the first season and that Simon had helped him overcome that difficulty with his own sexuality.

According to head writer Lisa Ambjörn he was always written as unlablled. His sexuality is not restricted to a gender.

Its called arcane (idk if you have heard of it) its an animated netflix show about the struggles between two fantasy cities one poor and one extremely rich and the conflicts and people who live in it. It is an absolutely fantastic show with so much emotion and so much real world issues its one of the most perfect shows ive ever seen (dont ignore it just because it is animated it is so so mature with such a well thought out story)
