That scene between Marcus and Simon was subtly chilling. Looking back now on all of the earlier Marcus scenes, even his introduction as a character is potentially questionable. From the get-go, the way he just wandered, uninvited, into Simon's bedroom in the first episode seemed off-putting to me. Simon thinks he is alone, but instead he is being observed by someone he doesn't know, without his knowledge, in his private space. It doesn't feel like a stretch to wonder if he deliberately engineered an excuse to come into the house by giving Sara a ride. Or, even worse, if he deliberately cultivated a friendship with Sara as a way of getting closer to Simon. I think of him & Simon in the cloakroom in S1, where he said he wouldn't make that denial. He's playing with Felice's hair exactly the same way Simon played with his. The positions are the same (Wille in Simon's place, )Felice in Wille's). I think maybe part of him is trying to get that moment back. That closeness, before the t*ts went stratospheric.

Absolutely - ALL the 🚩🚩🚩 for Marcus’ behavior in this episode. It was downright icky and manipulative. E3 was the episode where characters and viewers felt quite defeated. Things will start looking up! Can’t wait to see you react to the rest of the season.
The Queen doesn't have any siblings and she only had one cousin, August's dead father, that's why August is the only relative left from the Royal bloodline. The Queen told Wilhelm at Erik's funeral dinner that he and his children are the only heirs to the throne now, she never saw August as an option.
when did she say augusts father was her cousin..and not his mother? when did she say specifically she had no younger sisters? she might have some/ they may or may not have children but for a variety of reasons they have been ruled out..they miht be homosexual/ drug addicts..as their issue could be also.
August's dad is the royal with the land to his name. The Queen told August that she and his father were always very close. If August's mother was the royal she would be in line for the throne before him.
I’m also kind of suspending disbelief because don’t most monarchy’s require you produce an “heir and a spare” so how did the Queen end up an only child? Did she have a sibling that passed away too before having kids? If August’s dad is her first cousin (which makes August Wille’s 2nd cousin) then the queen’s father (the royal line) had a sibling who was August’s dad’s dad. But August is also an only child and Wille has no 1st cousins? I don’t know if the Swedish Royal family is required to have at least 2 kids to ensure the line continues. There seem to be a lot of only children in this Royal family
@@discogareth will admit I’m thinking deeply about it (can’t help it my moms a genealogist so family lines are something I have grown up on) but I know the “heir and spare” thing had been real. It’s to ensure the line continues. I do not know however if all monarchies abide by it or it’s an unwritten rule or it’s been modernized or not relevant to some royal family’s etc. I’m just theorizing and breaking it down a bit out of pure interest. It doesn’t matter and you need to “suspend disbelief” for lots of shows but it’s interesting to talk about.
Wille is trying to recreate the moment he had with Simon after loosing his brother, just as Simon tried with Marcus when getting him to watch a horror movie. They both try to see if it's the person or not. Which is so sweet in a way. On the other hand, I really adore Felice and Wille together as friends.
PMS = Premenstrual Syndrome. It is symptoms due to hormonal changes but also chemical changes in the brain before their period each month. So both physically and emotional, affecting their mood and also body physically too so things like bloating pain, headaches, soreness, depression (because affecting serotonin ), food cravings and heighten appetite , loss of appetite, digestive problems, anxiety, fatigue, sleeping problems etc etc. Can be severe or mild and often 1-2 weeks.
16:16 I’ve been gaslighted, and didn’t realise it was happening until after the relationship was over. It’s extremely subtle, non-aggressive, & done in a way where you are constantly left second-guessing & doubting yourself. So I’m not surprised that 16-17 year old Simon didn’t become fully alert 🚨 to Marcus doing it.
This ep is chaotic as heck. Its so nerve racking. Its literally an episodes full of red flags. Your reactions were spot on, I love you guys and can't wait for you to see the rest of series.
Okay, it's a whole month later but note that this scene with Wille and Felice is Wille trying to reenact the feeling of the moment with Simon after the football pitch.
The quality of the writing and, indeed, all of the production values of this series never cease to astound me. It took me a while to realize the really interesting parallel of Sara, who has Asperger's and therefore a narrowed version of understanding of her world and how it works and Wille who doesn't have any of that kind of limitation but still because of the stricture of his privilege and his upbringing has just as narrow an image of HIS world as Sara does of hers. In his zeal to get revenge on August, Wille is pretty much oblivious to the clues around him as to what is going on (as you will see) and just kind of tramples over everything in his path. Many people compare Young Royals to other series (and many of them are really good) but this is light-years beyond all of them.
I absolutely agree with you that this series is in a league of its own. I am amazed that this was the first acting job for so many of the cast members.
Alex calling Hillerska "Hillschacka" gives me life hahaha, please never correct it 😂❤ I love that you saw the gaslighting right away because not everyone does, but that scene just gets harder and harder to watch each time because it makes me so damn angry. Nothing is harder to watch than that last scene though....
I think Wilhelm opened up to the therapist this time because he found out Eric went to him too. Even after death Eric is still like his role model so if Eric did something then that means it’s okay for Wilhelm to do it too.
Simon- I’m not ready for a relationship Marcus- You’re not like your dad🤓 BFFR But also Malte is so cute which makes the scenes with Marcus and Sara so complicated because they look so cute while doing stupid things lol
Your faces during the Marcus talk with Simon was priceless. You both knew immediately that he was being manipulative. I also saw it that way and knew he was bad for him and kind of scary. I’ve seen guys like him that turn toxic in a relationship and become abusive. RUN Simon!
Not Marcus saying he's sure Simon doesn't want to destroy something so wonderful. Like dude chill, you've met like five days ago, watched one movie together and had one semi-date lol. He's a 🚩 for sure. Guys, can't wait for your reaction to ep. 4, my favourite from both seasons. 💜
16:26 you guys have the best facial expressions when reacting to this show 😂. Such a skeezy conversation from Marcus: bringing up the sextape and his dad, which has nothing to do with what Simon’s saying to him.
25:48 The conversation between the two of you is the same as what my thought process was! “Aww, I love their friendship! Wait. Are they going to…? No, they’re just good friends. OMG, no. They can’t!” Thank goodness for what’s his face for interrupting.
You guys nailed this reaction, hitting upon all the key points. Very perceptive comments regarding Marcus, Willie’s state of mind, and his kiss with Felice at the end. Outstanding! Looking forward to your reaction to the second half of the season! 👊👊
PMS : PreMenstrual Syndrome : For many women, these symptoms are regularly very painful and difficult to bear, and for some women they even prevent them from doing anything. 😉 #Firstinformativecomment 😂
Thanks, God, you get Marcus manipulative behavior... This EP was painful to watch but so good. Edvin acting is something else... The scene with the therapist... Broke me... It's such an important moment. Wille getting in touch with the pain of seeing Simon with Marcus... I've seen a lot of judgment towards Wille. At the end of the day I guess is easier to us to relate to Simon's reality and feelings... But we have no clue how it is to grow up as a royal, as a back up, especially if this makes no sense to you. Anyways, I dont think this show is about us picking a side but being able to see and relate to the human aspect in each character... And to have a broader look at their circumstances. That's what I love about YR. It's not about perfection, right or wrong, but being human in it's fully meaning.
You're such a great, hilarious and on point reacting duo to a story worth watching. 3rd final season announced yesterday by Netflix Nordic as well as by the actors Edvin and Omar. Don't forget to see them both tonight (Dec 15th) at Jimmy Fallon's Tonight Show.
Female anatomy education time. PMS means pre menstrual symtoms. Its basically symptoms that happen during ovulation or right before you get your period. It ranges in what it can include from person to person. Everyones different and some people dont even get it. It can include a wide variety of things from being emotional to having hot/cold flashes. Its not talk about alot and theres not much known in education during schools about it.
So glad you said that about Marcus. What he was saying was not okay. And August this ep was so much better and I also a. It bad for him too. This whole ep had me on edge!!
I'm glad you were alright after this episode, there's been quite a lot there😁 I think your laughter diffuses the drama, so maybe everyone should be watching this show with a friend 😁
Marcus can go!!! Bringing up daddy issues and shit…. He’s very manipulative, weather he does subconsciously or on purpose (which would be even worse of course) 🙄 Can’t stand him…. I ship “Wilmon” ♥️
Finally a reaction that calls out Marcus’ completely controlling behaviour- excellent work as always. The reveal of the line of succession is I think the weak point in the whole series as in reality the next in line would have been a well established public fact and not something the Queen could secretly choose.
Great, inciteful reaction guys. Your reaction to Marcus were 100% mine and seeing it again I just wanted to punch him in the face. It's interesting that Simon can be so frank with Wille and yet with Marcus he is almost afraid to speak his mind. Would be interested to hear why you think that is. Can't wait for the next ones. Episodes 4 and 5 are my favourites. They are a rollercoaster as well but at least we start turning the page.
Yes!!! Love love love you recognised Marcus is toxic. Practically had to do TED talk for some people to explain why he is. Lots of bombs dropped in this one too!!
Heyy I can probably answer the therapist question. So, in general, I suppose we expect therapists to be already queer friendly since we are trained to be non judgemental. The thing is, to be queer affirmative, you actually have to look at the world through a queer lens. In India, there are trainings available, where you essentially get trained to be aware of queer issues and multiple diverse queer experiences. That's how you get the certification.
I'm late to the party in watching Young Royals but living for these reactions. Thank goodness, I am not the only one who went....uh, wait a minute...known this guy for all of five seconds and he thinks he knows my relationship with my dad and how it's affected all my relationships?!? Simone just stood there, like, okay, sure, seems correct but my neck went all the way back into my chin for that one. Even that hug right after was gross to me. Maybe his sister is right at this point, in that he is often waaaaaaay to nice.
I felt like Simon chose the words "not ready for anything serious" just to be nice. Instead of "I don't want to date you, period". I mean, any decent person would catch the meaning and back off. That jerk...
Awesome video. I loved the recap from the previous episode, especially Sara’s plot line. Your reaction to the end twists was great. Such awesome faces!
My mum and I just finnished season 2 and the first thing she said was. Do u know if there is a season 3. And I said idk. Anyhows love ur reaction as always
Thanks for the reaction! Incredible as always 💛🌟 your reactions are by far one of my favorites on UA-cam The way I LAUGHED at the horse joke and the electric fence joke hahahaa I laughed so hard Also, I'm so happy you guys caught that kinda toxic behavior from Marcus! So pushy in a "polite" way. Simon said NO but he had to insist 🙄 I really don't like him! Also way out of way with his opinions about Simon's dad, like WHAT? I would never meet with him again EVER
Marcus is so good at grooming Simon I'm expecting Chris Hansen to show up any minute. I was in Simon's position once (minus Wilhelm). Fortunately, I didn't have to see this guy all the time like Simon does. Putting your foot down and refusing to show any vulnerability is the best way do deal with people like him. Exhaust his will to wear you down, however long it takes. Side not: If Sarah likes to smell like August, wouldn't Felice be able to tell?
I work in aged care and they have a few times in the past they have organised "lgbt training" I thought it was very well done and as one of the younger people among my colleagues at the time I was impressed with how willing to learn they were.
i honestly didn't see Marcus' gaslighting until my friend described those scenes to me from her point of view and I watched a bunch of reactions to the show but now that I've seen it I can't unsee it he's just so creepy and weird to Simon i'm so glad you guys caught onto that
No Marcus, no! Also I’ve finally caught up with you! I found your channel after Heartstopper and finally decided to watch Young Royals. Binged both seasons way too fast lol. Enjoying your insights so much!
Stateside, there are 60-credit hour programs for therapists to get certified as LGBTQ therapists. Just a rand0om fact… I'm also developing an appreciation for how the show has integrated the neurodivergent (Sara) into her own story. Functioning people on the spectrum can negotiate life, even as teens.
7:15 I took it to mean that the therapist has been to professional training and/or conferences regarding helping LGBTQ+ youth, being affirming and supportive, especially with trans youth and using their correct name/pronouns. It also meant to me that the therapist wasn't going to push him into conversion therapy. Sometimes it's just that they have experience helping people in the LGBTQ+ community, so they've learned about mental health issues that might come up (like anxiety or depression from being bullied).
I love it that you realized Marcus issue.. i thought it was just me who got offended with what he said with Simon.. about Wilhelm, about his father and when he said "I know you dont want to destroy something this beautiful".. thats a glaring red flag 🚩🚩🚩

You didn’t disappoint. ❤ I disliked Markus from the first moment of his shouldering into Simon’s room uninvited in episode one, invading his personal space and hustling for a date seconds later, but this was the episode that confirmed his status as arch manipulator posing as a harmless teddy bear of a guy who would do anything for you. You will hate him even more next episode and I can’t wait to see Alex’s facial expressions.

when did she say augusts father was her cousin..and not his mother? when did she say specifically she had no younger sisters? she might have some/ they may or may not have children but for a variety of reasons they have been ruled out..they miht be homosexual/ drug addicts..as their issue could be also.
@@BroadwayBound009 you’re thinking far too deeply into this! ‘Heir and a spare’ is just a saying it’s not a ‘requirement’.
PMS = Premenstrual Syndrome.
Haha thank you, very embarrassing for Joshie
Thank you, thank you, thank you!! I’m so sick of seeing people defending Marcus’ gaslighting and emotionally abusing Simon.
I’m people ,love Marcus 💕
@@LanadelreysWife5 some people love Chris Brown too 🤷🏼♀️
16:16 I’ve been gaslighted, and didn’t realise it was happening until after the relationship was over.
We need episode 4! I keep checking back for it! Love you guys so much!!
“Are they going to get together?!”
“Noooo”
Me: 🫣😬😳🤣
and the next three episodes are just CRAZY. so much emotion.. can't wait to see your reaction to this
I'm glad i wasn't the only one shouting "JUUDAS JU-D-A-AS" after august made that comment
You are my favorite reactors! I think you’re right- Marcus is bad news!
Please Do The Next Few Episodes A Bit Quickly Please 🥺
They Are Fire 🔥🔥🔥🔥
I think Wilhelm opened up to the therapist this time because he found out Eric went to him too. Even after death Eric is still like his role model so if Eric did something then that means it’s okay for Wilhelm to do it too.
I’m not-so patiently waiting for the next episode
guys it’s been almost a month since you posted I MISS YOUR REACTIONS!!! :(
I love hearing your discussions. Super interesting.
Hope you guys are okay!
Simon- I’m not ready for a relationship
Marcus- You’re not like your dad🤓
BFFR
But also Malte is so cute which makes the scenes with Marcus and Sara so complicated because they look so cute while doing stupid things lol
Your faces during the Marcus talk with Simon was priceless. You both knew immediately that he was being manipulative. I also saw it that way and knew he was bad for him and kind of scary. I’ve seen guys like him that turn toxic in a relationship and become abusive. RUN Simon!
patiently waiting for your reaction to the rest of the episodes
Thank you both so much for always making my day so much better 💕 I love you😍
Not Marcus saying he's sure Simon doesn't want to destroy something so wonderful. Like dude chill, you've met like five days ago, watched one movie together and had one semi-date lol. He's a 🚩 for sure.
Guys, can't wait for your reaction to ep. 4, my favourite from both seasons. 💜
Oh This Episode was Filled With So Many WRONG CHOICES AND WRONG MOVES!!!!
Such A Tense Episode
Please I need you guys to continue with this hahaha I hope you guys are doing great 💛🌟
16:26 you guys have the best facial expressions when reacting to this show 😂.
Noted 😅 thank you
But watching them trying to work through this is the gayest thing I have ever seen. 🤣🤣
@@ahuggie haha that and the whole interaction from 28.45 on with the punching and stabbing tyres 😂 OML these guys crack me up
@@ahuggie It was funny!
I miss you guys. !! I'm in need of the next episode 😍
Yup, Marcus is a NO.
Looking forward to your reaction to the next episode!
Where’s the next episode???? I’ve been checking every day
Yes, me too! Hope you guys are both ok??
Marcus can go!!! Bringing up daddy issues and shit…. He’s very manipulative, weather he does subconsciously or on purpose (which would be even worse of course) 🙄
Can’t stand him….
I ship “Wilmon” ♥️
this episode was the one where I really started to forgive and feel sorry for august
Is episode 4 reaction coming soon please? It’s a good one!
Finally a reaction that calls out Marcus’ completely controlling behaviour- excellent work as always. The reveal of the line of succession is I think the weak point in the whole series as in reality the next in line would have been a well established public fact and not something the Queen could secretly choose.
your face when Simon talked to Marcus 🤨 OMG I laughed so hard
I had fun watching you guys react to the episode.
Waiting for episode 4…..🤔🤔
Same I keep obsessively checking 😅
please sirs, episode 4, please
Finally! I just wanna see yours reactions 🥰🥰😍
Waiting! Waiting! Waiting!
For last 3 episodes 🤦♀️🤷♀️😬
Where is episode 4?? I need to seeee!
Sara used the info about August releasing the video to get her place as a border in the school. That’s why She hasn’t told Simon.
3:18 BEST SOUND EFFECT EVER OMGGGGGG
My mum and I just finnished season 2 and the first thing she said was. Do u know if there is a season 3. And I said idk.
Anyhows love ur reaction as always
Does the wait mean we will get reactions to episode 4 and 5 in bulk 👀👀👀🤞🤞🤞 xx
Oh no, this episode 😆
i just watch s2 e4 it just came out 5 hours ago but now we need the last two episodes
Thank you for the Marcus insights - I felt like he was no good, but I wasn't hearing anyone else say the same!
I love your reactions so so much. Lots of love from Germany 🇩🇪 ❤❤
You guys are so funny. I hurt from laughing so hard😂😂😂
Thanks for the reaction! Incredible as always 💛🌟 your reactions are by far one of my favorites on UA-cam
The way I LAUGHED at the horse joke and the electric fence joke hahahaa I laughed so hard
Also, I'm so happy you guys caught that kinda toxic behavior from Marcus! So pushy in a "polite" way. Simon said NO but he had to insist 🙄 I really don't like him! Also way out of way with his opinions about Simon's dad, like WHAT? I would never meet with him again EVER
me just waiting for them too see the ending...
Hope you are ok
Please, please give us the rest of the episodes from season 2❤ I need them!
I work in aged care and they have a few times in the past they have organised "lgbt training" I thought it was very well done and as one of the younger people among my colleagues at the time I was impressed with how willing to learn they were.
"Well, she's not a salesman" 😆
i honestly didn't see Marcus' gaslighting until my friend described those scenes to me from her point of view and I watched a bunch of reactions to the show but now that I've seen it I can't unsee it
he's just so creepy and weird to Simon i'm so glad you guys caught onto that
No Marcus, no! Also I’ve finally caught up with you! I found your channel after Heartstopper and finally decided to watch Young Royals. Binged both seasons way too fast lol. Enjoying your insights so much!
lmao pms stands for premenstrual symptoms. basically signs that your period is about to come like cramping, mood swings, etc.
Stateside, there are 60-credit hour programs for therapists to get certified as LGBTQ therapists. Just a rand0om fact…
I'm also developing an appreciation for how the show has integrated the neurodivergent (Sara) into her own story.
Sometimes it's just that they have experience helping people in the LGBTQ+ community, so they've learned about mental health issues that might come up (like anxiety or depression from being bullied).
we need the reaction for the next episode!!!
Here for the quality, well considered reactions… Meanwhile Josh: “I fucking said it”
😂😂
🤣🤣🤣
Someone on Tumblr did a breakdown of the possible family tree to make August really be the only option and it makes sense, in an effed up way.
Lol pms stands for premenstrual syndrome. I love you guys! I'm looking forward to your next video.
I love it that you realized Marcus issue.. i thought it was just me who got offended with what he said with Simon.. about Wilhelm, about his father and when he said "I know you dont want to destroy something this beautiful".. thats a glaring red flag 🚩🚩🚩
This is such a painful episode to watch that I could only re-watch it knowing that you guys would make me laugh.
I knew you both would recognize Marcus red flags. And yess you didm
