- In today's vlog we collect our car hire and head off for a road trip to the Grand Canyon. We hired our car through Alamo, the below sites are where I check for car hire prices, I always book a free cancellation option as I re check and book when the prices are cheaper:

We visited the west rim of the Grand Canyon, this is closest point of the canyon to drive to from Vegas, it took 2.5 hours and you can pre book tickets but we paid on arrival.

I’m so surprised Daniel was able to get as close as he did, he used to be so afraid of heights! It was amazing to see though, so stunning!!

What a wonderful Vlog that was. Great to see people getting out and exploring the wonderful scenery that is just outside of Vegas.
Although I have flown across the pond to Vegas more times than I can remember (2003 was the first visit) there is always more to see. Really looking forward to getting back in December and visiting old favs and places we have never yet been to including FB, Durango, Brew dog bar and ole Red etc.
Red Rock resort is still our all time No1 place to stay but in December we are fully comped at Delano and Cosmo so couldn't turn that down.
Looking for ward to part 4 of this great Vegas adventure. 👍👍

Oh amazing! The rooms at Cosmo look really good, definitely wouldn’t turn that down!
Part 4 goes live tomorrow and it’s a mini vlog, we didn’t film much as it was my birthday. Part 5 is a good one to watch, that goes up Sunday and we start our drive to California and do a few cool things along the way!
Skip the counter option from Alamo is a great time saver also the ability to rebook when the price drops.

Happy Birthday! The girl who was crushing on you should at least have given you some free food or souvenirs. That’s cheap for a rental car; they’ve been expensive since the Covid lockdown. If you want huge, in Texas, there’s a freeway with 16 lanes…in each direction. Yep, 32 lanes. Crazy, even by American standards. Hate the ac in hotel rooms. I always get sick. I find 74 degrees is a good temp, as it keeps the room cool, not cold. Looking forward to your road-trip to LA.

I’ve managed to find some good car hire deals, it’s not easy though you have to be on the look out for them!
We really want to visit Texas, there are so many places we would like to visit, a big road trip is on the cards in the next couple of years!
I’ll bare that tip in mind about hotel AC, I always feel stuffy from the AC!
@@kimberlys_journey The next time you hire a car in the US, and you do not pick it up directly from the airport upon your arrival, check to see if the agency will deliver the car to, and pick it up from, your hotel for free. You don’t get to choose the car, but it is a great convenience. Also, some will pick you up to take you to the car rental location, as well as drop you off after you return the car, for free. The Disney car rental location will pick you up and drop you off for free, but I see where so many don’t know this, so unnecessarily pay for Ubers and Lyfts to get there. The rental companies don’t always freely share this info. When in Texas, and you want top notch bbq, expect to wait in line for 3 - 4 hours. BTW, a drink is never a good thing to accept from your admirers. You obviously don’t watch enough H’wood movies!

Haha, to be honest I watch a lot of movies, I was just kidding about the drink.. although in that heat I defo wouldn't have turned down a free Powerade lol

Thanks for watching! So we booked with Alamo, I tend to book something with free cancellation and keep checking to see if the price comes down! I also Google or look around for discount codes! The Dibb (an online forum) has a car hire thread and people often post about deals in there, so I check every now and then to see if anything shows up there! Xx
