Honest opinion, I didn’t love the rooms. The overall resort was ok, but the rooms were very dated and the bathroom was quite grubby, our shower kept flooding & leaking. It wasn’t an awful hotel, but it wouldn’t be a first choice to stay there again. If it was a really good price, then yes I would. But honestly I think you can better for a similar price or slightly more!

It was AWFUL! When she came up to me I wanted the ground to swallow me lol! Also, editing this vlog back, I could quite clearly see the rip, it was bad. How Daniel didn’t notice I’ll never know 🤣

Yes lol, we did film every day. Im debating uploading two a week though, when I get time to edit that many! As I work full time so it’s hard trying to fit everything in! We also might put two days together in one vlog near the end of the trip, as some days we didn’t film as much!

No we weren’t able to get an upgrade on the Disney tickets, they said it’s to do with the special pricing deal we already get and the system doesn’t allow them to upgrade the UK tickets. As DVC members you do have access to the sorcerer annual pass, which is something we might get before our next trip! Xx

@kimberlys_journey thank you. I asked a cast member on the app if I could upgrade a 14 day UK ticket (specifically mentioned it would be a UK ticket) and he said yes. I asked because I'd seen mixed experiences so if he is wrong that's pretty poor of Disney to be giving out wrong information on the app). I'm so excited to see your first DVC stay next year. We've been looking at renting points too for next year so would love to see a vlog on that and DVC buying too xx

@@jenzb145yeah I’ve heard a lot of stories like that tbh, I genuinely think some of the cast members don’t know. Like for instance when we softened up to DVC, once it had all gone through, in the Disney app it showed that me and Daniel could upgrade our tickets, when we clicked through to try and complete it, it wouldn’t let the transaction go through. So I think that’s why Disney cast members get it wrong, it looks like it’s possible but when you try to finalise the transaction it doesn’t let you 😢. Renting points through Dave’s DVC rentals was so easy, it was just like completing a transaction for regular hotel booking, it was so easy. They deal with speaking to the owners on your behalf, so there isn’t anything for you to do! It was so straight forward! When we do our stay next year I’ll show more of the DVC side of things ❤ xx

Personally we chose to buy direct so that we could make use of the benefits, discounts and DVC events as we are considering getting the Disney annual pass too. We also want to use our points on a Disney cruise down the line, which I’m pretty certain you can’t do with resale points. If I were to buy more points in the future to top up our balance then I would probably look at resale at that time as we wouldn’t need as many points and I know you don’t get the Disney benefits unless you buy a minimum of 150. And the restrictions didn’t put us off no, as we (touch wood) don’t plan on selling, we’re very much hoping to be old and grey still visiting Disney. Is DVC something you’re considering?

@ we have bought resale at Riveria. We also knew the restrictions but love the riviera and are happy to stay there each time. If something changes we will sell the contract, as we only paid $94.50 per point, and purchase at a different resort that doesn’t have restrictions. We would only be able to go once a year so the discounts dont make up for the higher cost per point when buying direct. When you upgraded your universal tickets, did anyone mention epic universe to you? We may upgrade on next years trip but not sure what an annual pass will look like going forward?

@@PeterGreener-Jacklin oh that's amazing, Riviera is such a lovely resort and yeah that makes sense. For us we try to go a couple times of year and we would like to take my parents on a cruise and to Hawaii, so we want to use our points for that also. They didn't mention Epic no, as annual pass holders we did have the option when Epic tickets went live to purchase just a 1 day ticket, but it opens 2 days before we come home in May and the tickets were sold out when I checked and we haven't booked our September trip yet. At the moment I dont think there are any mentions about whether they will be adding Epic to the annual passes.

@ universal 2026 tickets will be 4 park tickets and allow you to go to epic however much you like. Be Interesting when it comes to your renewal next year, with you having half your annual pass in 2025 and half in 2026? Btw, top tip. Using DVC points is unbelievable bad value. Instead, rent some points out and use the funds to book a cruise direct. Far cheaper way of doing it.

@@PeterGreener-JacklinI’ll do a video on it when we come to renew, see what the increases are with Epic! As that’s a good point regarding the 2025/2026 dates! And thank you that’s a great tip, or I might just have to convince Daniel we need to use the points ourselves and book a cruise on top 😂

You’re not wrong it has got very expensive, especially for families. My brother who came out there on this trip had a family of 5, so the price of everything for him was extortionate, hence the reason they haven’t been for 8 years. Where we don’t have kids we can be more flexible with dates/ where we stay to try and get some bargains. I will say though, we have still found some good flight prices over the years, but again we go out of school holidays so they always are cheaper!

My annual pass includes free express after 4pm, but we did a universal hotel at the end of the trip, royal pacific for 2 nights, so we made use of express on that part of the trip! Xx

Yeah of course, I do go over it in a little more detail in next weeks vlog, where we were meeting our friends and the meeting took so long we didn’t have as much time to go over it in this vlog. We financed our DVC contract, you have to pay a deposit which for us was around £3000 and then the finance agreement is for 10 years (you can pay it off anytime within the 10 years and not be penalised) our finance payments are around £400ish a month, so £200 each. Our DVC contract is for 36 years. And cost us $55,000. Renting points through Dave’s for 5 nights at poly cost us £2300, so if you add that up over 36 years, DVC works out a hell of a lot cheaper (for us) and we get 12-14 nights instead of 5

That’s the goal one day, get a villa over there

There are still some good prices out here, you just need to re check every now and then, I always book one that’s free cancellation and then I’ll just have a look online and re book when it’s cheaper! Usually the best pricing is like 6-8 weeks out

Travel home day is always so depressing isn’t it lol. @ it really is!! When the plane took off I was nearly in tears lol. Yes Orlando was in good shape luckily! Absolutely, we are planning the next trip to go in April/may 2026 as it has put us off. Bit like what you said in your vlog xx

Thank you for watching & aww I’m glad you managed to get to Iceland and use some of our recommendations. We loved Iceland, but had a nightmare end to the trip. We didn’t finish the vlogs because I was just crying & then by the time we got home I didn’t want to think about it anymore. Basically when we took the car back to Avis, they accused us of causing damage to the car (we hadn’t the damage was already on the car) but when we arrived it was a blizzard and stupidly I didn’t take any photo evidence as we just wanted to get in the car out of the snow. Anyway long story short, they wouldn’t let us leave the car terminal without paying £3000 in damages (the dent was smaller than a 50p piece) even if we had caused the damage I don’t understand where they got that price from. I tried disputing the charges but nothing happened AND when we got home a month later, they added another £1000 charge to my card, I was almost sick! But luckily, I managed to get that charged reversed from my bank! So yeah, I will never ever use Avis or Budget again for car hire even if they gave me the car for free 😂 x

We use the DJI Osmo pocket 3 & the mics are the DJI ones too, we previously used a Canon G7X mark ii but that died on us, I loved them both but do like how compact the DJI is, it’s nice and discreet!

Thank you for watching!! So MPC is for US citizens, visa holders and now ESTA holders too! So if you just download the app it asks you to input your trip / flight details and passport details! When you land in the US you have to submit a selfie and then you can use the MPC line. We used it in vegas too, and that airport at the time didn’t have a dedicated MPC line, but it still made our customs experience shorter, we were at the desk for like 2 mins. In Orlando they didn’t have it sign posted, but we asked one of the agents and he told us to use a different line as we had completed the MPC form ok the app!

Daniel is a really confident driver out there, I also drove once. It’s not that bad in our experience you just have to pay attention. I’ve found driving in the UK has got awful over the years, their roads are just bigger

Personally we like Alamo, purely because we have always had really good customer service from them. I always book the pay later option, as you don’t pay a deposit and I book it pretty much once the trip is booked and keep re checking the price, as it usually comes down. Our last 3 trips and the one next year we have had full size SUVS and when it’s two weeks we have always managed to get it for around £600, for 3 weeks we paid just over £900! I would advise to always just check car hire prices and re book it anytime it comes down xx

Aww thank you so much!! We flew home with Virgin, it took around 10 hours, we have no complaints so far, we’ve flown with them a few times over the past 2 years and have had no issues. We have a Virgin credit card so earn rewards and air miles, so at the moment they are our preferred airline
