A great list indeed, here are a couple more that might fit on the list too, though some will really chew up your time, you have been warned... : Dragon's Dogma Dark Arisen, No Man Sky, Terraria, Minecraft, Dragon Quest Builders 2, Red Dead Redemption, Final Fantasy XII The Zodiac Age, SubNautica + SubNautica Below Zero, Dying Light Platinum Edition, Monster Hunter Stories 2, Nier Automata. Last time I checked, I must have sunk like a couple thousand hours into these games... which come to think of it, is quite scary...
My one playthrough of tears of the Kingdom clocks in at over 220 hours. I made sure to do pretty much everything possible that I discovered. That means dozens of side quests. All of the light Roots and shrines.
Because half of that content is DLC, which isn’t factored into this list, and base game story isn’t all that long. The numbers they use for the list are a mean of average, non-completionist playthroughs of the base game, which according to their data source is 57 hours for Rise. The shortest game on this list is 90. Factoring in Sunbreak would bring Rise’s average to 141-ish hours, meaning it probably would be in top 5 of this list.
I played some of these games. They are much longer than those hours. For example I highly doubt that you can finish dragon quest under 90 hours in normal difficulty. I skipped most of the side quests and my time was way more longer than that. That 3rd act was completely unnecessary. For totk I did all dungeons, side quests apart from few like taking photo of everything, all shrines. I opened entire map. I did not even try to collect all korok seeds. I don't know whether I completed all armor sets, and schemas or not. It took 290 hours. For XC2 and XC3, they are around 160-180 hours. For XC2 I did not do most of the side quests. Just did some blade quests. For XC3 I did almost all side quests. Persona 5 Royal 180 hours, Witcher 3 Wild Hunt wilt all dlcs 200+ hours. Those hours given in the video are quite conservative tbh.
You're right. I finished Dragon Quest XI yesterday, just under the 120h mark. I did absolutely nothing in Chronopolis and still had secondary quests to do. I decided it was enough for me. I finished Persona 5R earlier this year at 170h (I missed the added chapter... Oups..). I just started playing Mario RPG today. Finaly a shorter game ! lol
Fire Emblem Three Houses 3 routes is 271+ hours. 4 routes is probably 300+ hours Rune Factory 4, just 1 playthrough is 150+ hours. I love it so much more than Stardew Valley or Harvest Moon or Story of Seasons
You really should do a video solely on long switch games. I’ve got 7,000+ hours on the Switch version of Ark Survival Evolved. I have friends with 10,000+…
I rarely hear people talk about Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen. It's a massive game, has Dark Souls kinda atmosphere. Has all the elements of an RPG and has one of the best gameplay mechanics imo. You could easily sink 80+ hours when completing the base game and it's DLC. 100+ hours when you're a completionist. 9/10 game for me.
@thelegacyofgaming2928 X is indeed a masterpiece, but so is 1, 2, Torna, 3, Future Redeemed. As for X not getting as much attention, it is simply due to being locked to the Wii U, and released before but not that far away from Zelda (Although it actually do certain things better than BOTW). But I do believe X will get a remake on Nintendo Switch sucessor next year, and with that, all the credit it deserves.
@thelegacyofgaming2928 Honestly I really dislike the combat in X and it makes some very questionable decisions design wise - looking at you Beagflea squashes and the final boss - but it's still pretty good. The music is brilliant too
Currently playing Apollo Justice now! I picked the perfect year to become a huge Ace Attorney fan lol. Started with The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles, then the OG trilogy and now Apollo Justice :)
I remember streaming a playthrough of XC3 on my Twitch channel once, and I'd played almost 12 hours straight due to exploring, fighting Super bosses, and gathering new hero while drinking Red Bull 😂😂😂.
These long games are a main reason my backlog is so large. I’ve been playing Breath of the Wild since last December and I still haven’t finished. I might take a break when I finally finish and play some shorter games, then I’ll probably try out one of these.
I just finished the marathon that was the Xenoblade trilogy and their DLC’s. Far out that took up my life far longer than it should’ve. Onto pikmin at the moment …but lord Xenoblade requires a lot of your time. I got Xenoblade X…but I need a break lol one day I’ll get around to playing that one.
I think I'm close to 300 hours on Xeno 3? Truly one of my favorite games of all time, and I've been gaming since the NES. I'm trying to not touch it for a decade so that when I return to it, it feels as fresh as it can be.
Getting an S rank on every game mode of Tetris Effect Connected is a good chunk of hours, and online multiplayer is infinite fun. It's all connected!

88 hours of Disgaea 5 sounds like you've got plenty to do beyond that. I love the game, currently on 140hr and still playing it. Most of my team at around level 1,000.
Galleria the Moon society is sooooo good. I bought the physical when it launched and I absolutely love this game. (Come to think of it I have physical copies of almost all of these games.) I’m still on my first play through of Galleria but it’s definitely a banger.
I was kinda waiting to see No Man's Sky mentioned at the end. Not sure how long people stick with that game, but I'm definitely well beyond 100h, counting ps4, pc and recently the Switch. Good list, though. Will definitely save some of those suggestions.
I didn't feel comfortable with praying to statues even though it's just a game so I only played for 60 hours. I did a glitch to get the master sword. I got the hyrule shield by sneaking sneaking around avoiding most of the enemies, a lot of tutorials. I only had half the hearts or maybe less than people had in end game
I was unemployed when TOTK came out and for the first couple days my online friends saw the number of hours and were intrigued "is it that good?", 2 weeks in my friends were concerned "did u sleep?"😂😂 I mean I played till I drop repeatedly so yea it's good😂😂
SnowRunner: been playing it since mid-June for an hour and a half daily average playtime, sometimes 3-4 hours, maybe 4 days I took time off. I’m still in the first region (Michigan) and have advanced it 80%. But there’s many more regions… I dunno… 15 total with DLC (3 base game)… and I’ve yet to cross the 7% GLOBAL progress bar (I’ve got all the DLCs), plus there more DLCs coming and and there’s two other spin-offs and a successor has been announced (RoadWork)…. and, and, and … phew! Look it up and enjoy! Don’t get me started with No Man’s Sky….
How is the Apollo justice trilogy so long? I adore the series, but I never thought the games were all that long. Also, every mention of Divinity Original Sin 2 should be accompanied with the fact that it's one of the few switch games that supports cross save with PC.
Surprised Fire Emblem Three Houses isn't on the list. To get all the story you have to play it 4 times! I'm on my 3rd play through and don't even want to look at how many hours I've put in 😅
Was thinking, “Omg how is Hades not on this list that game is AMAZING” and then realized that game probably takes way less time to complete for most people 😂 I played it for about 120 hours somehow though - there is so much content (especially if it takes a while to get good at combat like me I guess lol). But they included P5R which is my absolute fav, so can’t complain
I'd personally argue that civ6 is incompletable especially with all of the dlc added. Also that seems low number for Skyrim.... Most players have easily added in well over 200 and are still playing it
I was real dissapointed to find out that Trails of cold steel 3&4 bundle pack was ps5 exclusive. If collections get a pass that one would have rocketed up the list. For the other collection on there with the ace attorney games, I end up playing those like reading a bedtime book. It's not several hour gaming sessions on weekends but more an hour or so before bed every night for 3 months until I get to the "certainly this must be the end" and accidentally play until 4 in the morning.

Last time I checked, I must have sunk like a couple thousand hours into these games... which come to think of it, is quite scary...
I'm glad that you put twoTrails on this list. Now I can die happy XD
My one playthrough of tears of the Kingdom clocks in at over 220 hours.
I made sure to do pretty much everything possible that I discovered. That means dozens of side quests. All of the light Roots and shrines.
appreciate the xenoblade bgm
Why no Monster Hunter Rise? Its easily got the 2nd most content on the switch.
Ok the end of that was genuinely funny 😂
4 routes is probably 300+ hours
Rune Factory 4, just 1 playthrough is 150+ hours. I love it so much more than Stardew Valley or Harvest Moon or Story of Seasons
You really should do a video solely on long switch games. I’ve got 7,000+ hours on the Switch version of Ark Survival Evolved. I have friends with 10,000+…
I can't blame you, I play it regularly on PC and it just hits so nicely
I rarely hear people talk about Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen. It's a massive game, has Dark Souls kinda atmosphere. Has all the elements of an RPG and has one of the best gameplay mechanics imo. You could easily sink 80+ hours when completing the base game and it's DLC. 100+ hours when you're a completionist. 9/10 game for me.
Played skyrim over 1000hrs in multiple playthroughs and multiple systems for more than a decade
You forgot Borderlands 3
Xenoblade 2 is simply a masterpiece. 3 is amazing, 1 laid the groundwork, but 2 is the true peak of the franchise. So so good
The 3 (the 4 of them, X too) are masterpieces, and the same goes for their expansions.
I honestly think X is the masterpiece of the franchise. Sadly it isn't anime enough for mass attention.
@@thelegacyofgaming2928 I've heard it's getting the remake treatment for the switch 2
The music is brilliant too
"It would be odd to discount 9s and 10s."
I love your sense of humour Alex.
Factorio definitely easily can go for hundreds of hours. I easily lost 3 days not realizing it. They should rename the game to Cracktorio.
I'd love to see the same concept but applied to the shortest games that are worth playing !
You should also put Trails into Reverie and Trails Through Daybreak
Holy carp that Grizzco light is amazing!!!
I was kinda waiting to see No Man's Sky mentioned at the end. Not sure how long people stick with that game, but I'm definitely well beyond 100h, counting ps4, pc and recently the Switch. Good list, though. Will definitely save some of those suggestions.
Glad to see Isaac getting some love.
My BOTW playtime is around 300 to 400 hours and TOTK is around 500
I didn't feel comfortable with praying to statues even though it's just a game so I only played for 60 hours. I did a glitch to get the master sword. I got the hyrule shield by sneaking sneaking around avoiding most of the enemies, a lot of tutorials. I only had half the hearts or maybe less than people had in end game
I still kept the game in my Switch though because of the environment, soundtrack, and the horse riding and the outfit and sound effects
I highly recommend getting The Binding of Isaac: Repentance it includes Rebirth, Afterbirth and Afterbirth+ expansions
You should do another video of 8+ ratings of games between 20 and 50 hours.
3 Houses is very big. Either they have it a 7 or below, or they only counted 1 route for timing, but is still like 60+ hours for 1 route
Luigi makes a lot of sense for the concept of this video
I was unemployed when TOTK came out and for the first couple days my online friends saw the number of hours and were intrigued "is it that good?", 2 weeks in my friends were concerned "did u sleep?"😂😂 I mean I played till I drop repeatedly so yea it's good😂😂
Whats the music in the beginning
I have 500 hours in Fire Emblem 3 Houses playing all 4 routes…some more than once…but that is just me personally. 😅
So glad that Gundam crossrays made the list haha
Xenoblade Chronicles X REPRESENT!!!
Easily my favorite game to this day. The hidden gem of the franchise, and (I think) still the biggest open world game to this day.
Dragons dogma, fire emblem three houses just to add on as these two are my absolute favs
I'm 232 hours into "Tactics Ogre: Reborn" and I'm tecnically at 80% of the game's story mode
How is the Apollo justice trilogy so long? I adore the series, but I never thought the games were all that long.
Also, every mention of Divinity Original Sin 2 should be accompanied with the fact that it's one of the few switch games that supports cross save with PC.
Each is about 30 hours of gameplay x 3 plus DLCS = > 90 hours. (Plus replaying them seeing all the hidden details and other dialogue is so fun!)
Surprised Fire Emblem Three Houses isn't on the list. To get all the story you have to play it 4 times! I'm on my 3rd play through and don't even want to look at how many hours I've put in 😅
Octopath Traveler 2 would have made a good spot here
Love this list!
Monster hunter feels intimidating for me due to how long to complete, especially if you only play when you're free
Thanks for the video. What a best video
Most players have easily added in well over 200 and are still playing it
God I wish we got that Twin Snakes boxart for NA\
I was real dissapointed to find out that Trails of cold steel 3&4 bundle pack was ps5 exclusive. If collections get a pass that one would have rocketed up the list.
For the other collection on there with the ace attorney games, I end up playing those like reading a bedtime book. It's not several hour gaming sessions on weekends but more an hour or so before bed every night for 3 months until I get to the "certainly this must be the end" and accidentally play until 4 in the morning.
Trails into Reverie seems longer to me than cold steel 3 and 4. Was it not reviewed? Is the endgame considered completionist instead of extra?
