Northern Rio Minho Local Forest Management Committee, CSO Coalition for Forests, Jamaica

The Northern Rio Minho Local Forest Management Committee (NRMLFMC) focuses on sustainable farming and agriculture initiatives in the upper Rio Minho. The organisation links with schools, government agencies and other civil society organisations (CSOs) in the Rio Minho community to work on initiatives which address the issues of climate change, environmental conservation and food security. Through the CSO Coalition for Forests, the NRMLFMC seeks to add its voice to allied organisations lobbying for more government resources to continue the already wide-ranging work being done by CSOs in similar communities to expand agro-based livelihood opportunities, access to education and economic development.
