@@mikemiller3303 I actually have talked with the owner and operator of California Motorbikes and he says that properly balanced cranks are in the works. I was one of the very first who got my hands on their budget minarelli engine and got in touch with them and voiced my opinion on what needed to change. To my surprise, they listened and made quite a few improvements before their second shipment. I'm really impressed with their professionalism and willingness to listen to input from others. BikeBerry wouldn't give a crap. Lol

I bought a basic BikeBerry kit for my fist build a couple of years ago. I was attracted to the "entire kit" aspect. I then went on to build a 4 stroke Honda GX140 powered motorized bicycle, a couple of mini bikes, another 4 or 5 scooters and mopeds, etc. For what I was doing at the time, I was happy with my experience.

I bought from BB because I thought they would provide better support than other dealers. They are difficult to deal with returns. I received a bad chain tensioner they reluctantly replaced. I have a couple thousand miles on the 80cc angle fire. Maybe I'm lucky. They're prices are a bit high on many parts. The poo poo pipe is appropriately named.

I'm not at all worried about offending anyone when I say Bikeberry sucks ass, and preys on inexperienced builders and racerbois. NOTHING they sell works as advertised, and if you have problems, they will LIE and stall and generally treat you like shit until you go away. I tried to order from them 3 times when I first got started building engines.....first order was for an engine. It blew up in instantly due to piston being installed backwards and snagged a ring. They refused to replace, claiming I must have done it myself. Second time I ordered some smalls like a clutch shaft and a few odds & ends. They sent a totally unrelated random pile of hardware, with literally NOTHING I had ordered. Again refused to honor the sale despite me sending them pictures of the box taken as I opened it. Third and LAST time, I tried to order a billet head for a GT5 SkyHawk. They sent me a clutch cover and ONCE AGAIN, refused to honor the sale despite repeated emails and documentation. And as a cherry on top, the clutch cover was so warped it cracked when I tried to use it. Fuck Bikeberry.

IS Bikeberry a "Chinese" company & I only ask b/c a lot of Chinese Motorcycles are knock-off's from other well
known manufacturers. This is going on in all sectors of goods you might purchase but tell me where you can
buy high quality engine parts for these? peace

      @a.m.bgarage.everydayprojec9665  3 місяці тому +1

I don't know where BikeBerry originates, or who runs the website, but yes, they sell Chinese parts. I don't want to say all, but the MAJORITY of motorized bike engines and other parts (including performance parts, etc) come from China. But that doesn't mean they are all bad. Companies like California motorbikes and CDH Power still sell Chinese parts, but they have a high quality standard. BikeBerry on the other hand just throws quality out the window.
Sites like California Motorbikes and CDH Power offer good quality products for reasonable pricing. However, like with anything, make sure you know what to look for before you jump right in. Other sites, such as Smolik Performance and RDManu offer SUPER high quality parts that have been EXPERTLY designed and crafted here in the states. You will need to pay a premium, but MAN is it worth it and the guys are super kind, so if you have any issue, they'll make it right.

See, I didn't know BB's prices were close to the good parts pricing BUT ; That's their whole deal, they are pricing like
that just under the highest prices but acting like they've got the quality at a slightly less cost? That's by design that
they're doing this. I only just figured that out & I wouldn't have put it together had you not pointed out their throw
away trash parts but they're acting like their parts are the same as the more costly stuff & they're acting like they
are giving you the higher quality but at a reduced rate from those others? They are not & that's a bad deal for all
the newbies just wanting to get started, like me? I remember seeing their stores but I decided not to build & had
even looked at a 4 cycle Honda friction drive motor instead b/c all the parts looked sketchy to me. I do appreciate
your time & now I know what BB's doing to people, I'm normally one who doesn't like going after a store b/c it
kinda makes one look bad but if they're overpricing crap parts & not providing service either, F#@K Em' !!

@@matthewfredrickmfkrz1934 I've seen people motorize the 26in bmx bikes (images.app.goo.gl/xqrRwiRHMXGSxCr98). You could probably use this bike (a.co/d/fQSkPL9), slap on a big ol Menace 85 engine kit (smolikperformance.com/collections/frontpage/products/menace85-ss-kit?variant=46264295456955), and use Gemini pitbike rotor rear wheel (gemini-bicycle-products.myshopify.com/products/26-right-side-pitbike-rotor-rear-wheel).
If you actually plan on somewhat still using it as a BMX bike, you'll want a light, yet very torquie and powerful engine and there really isn't ANY engine on the market that can compete with the Menace.
The bike and frame itself should hold up to the power just fine. Though, I reccomended replacing the wheel to a Gemini pitbike brake wheel so you can properly mount the sprocket while still having brakes. With the Gemini wheel, you get a VERY solid sprocket mount, but it relocates the disc brakes to the other side of the wheel.
In total, the build will run you about $1,500. ($350 bike + $450 engine kit + $350 wheel + other odds and ends). You could get the price down a bit, but that's the price for a sick, purpose built bike

Stuff like ordering $100 worth of parts and receiving a completely different order containing only a few bolts without any remorse, etc.
While it's not the end of the world, it's something I see a lot of new builders falling for and wanted to educate people.
