What if u don't have a reed valve
@@brianhawkins866 you would absolutely need to use a pulse that is routed to the crank.
are minarelli engines rlly that good had for 3 months china doll and it runs but smthing broke in the exhaust no power at all but found for 190 dolars minarelli 6HP with built pwk carb do u think its worth and will last maybe not forever but for many years than china engines?
@@thewaffle3945 minarellis are amazing, but will only give you MANY more issues if you are un-skilled and you have a tight budget. Sure, you can buy a minarelli and a crappy exhaust for around $200, but those engines are not built correctly. A minarelli ABSOLUTELY REQUIRES a balanced crankshaft, properly honed and cleaned cylinder, port matched transfers, and the ring gap and squish gap need to be set. If any of these things are left unchecked, it can be catastrophic to the engine. The cheap minarelli engines on eBay or other sites do none of these (some claim they have "balanced cranks" but in fact do NOT) and is why a lot of those cheap minarelli engines are shredding themselves. Afternits all said and done, you are looking at over $300 for just the engine stuff. Not only do you need to do ALL THAT, but you need to deal with MUCH more maintenance, reliability issues, and you also NEED to upgrade a BUNCH of stuff on your bike as well. With that being said, I instead HIGHLY recommend getting an Avenger 85. Has a LOT more power, more torque than a minarelli, and a LOT more reliable and simpler/easier to maintain. Cheaper too. smolikperformance.com/products/avenger85-engine Can get the kit here: hybridpowerbikes.com/products/avenger-85-kit
@@a.m.bgarage.everydayprojec9665 might go with the avenger seen the upgrade vid and stock one goes also 40mph but with good upgrades it can hit 60mph

I can’t wait to see it rip it’s probably going to launch pretty good with the stretch frame and raked front end then lil 80 motors rip
@@Mac181 thanks. I can't wait either. It should definitely launch well. It's an kx85 top end with a kx100 bottom end, so it has right around 26hp and a 6speed Trans. The dirtbike was fast, but considering this bike is half the weight, it should be fun. Lol
Good find man, I’m a small engine mechanic and that’s a solid machine. Good engine too!
@@truthwithtrevor1141 absolutely. Of course it was DISGUSTINGLY dirty and needed to replace the fuel pump, but it cleaned up well and I should get a good $800. Thanks for watching.
RADICAL
I've had that one and I now own the Aiyima amp that looks exactly the same but sounds a lot louder than the Fosi
@@Steve0885 cool. I actually might be needing another Amp, so I'll check it out. Thanks
😂 my god
@@BuildBreakFixlol. I guess that's why there should be breather caps on these things.
I have mixed opinions, no offense. However, you know what you're talking about, and I respect that, still insightful at the very least.
@@ZenWook thanks for watching and the support means a lot. If you don't understand or have any other questions, feel free to ask.
Needs adjusting!! Say it with me children
Premature cumbustion
That is pretty cool
Thanks I think so too. Should be MUCH cooler once I get it on the road. lol
Cool 😎
That’s a 1960 to 1964
Cool. Good to see someone who knows about these old saws. I dont collect them or anything, I just work on them and the owner told me it was a 70's. lol
Doing as an adult what we all wanted to do as kids.
lol. I am still pretty much a kid, but I know what you mean. lol
My very first porting job was on a FL250. I loved that bouncy fucker!
Thats dope. I actually was gonna do some port work on this beauty but decided not to. lol.
@@a.m.bgarage.everydayprojec9665 Oh do it! These engines really leave a lot on the table, and some simple mild porting really wakes them up!
Plus its a simple design with nothing fancy, so easy to port and very rewarding!
@@ManiacRacing I already have everything back together and I really dont want to take it COMPLETELY back apart. lol. I would, but the customer is focused on restoration and it looking good for it to be a shop ornament, not so much for him to ride it. lol. I just haven't posted anything, and dont really have any video of the painting process or the assembly process because my phone camera broke and my GoPro crapped out on me. lol.
@@a.m.bgarage.everydayprojec9665 Well, keep it in mind if you ever yank the topend gain
Dayum 🤣🤣 brother I've never seen one flood that bad. Maybe Stihl needs to start putting tank vents back on the saws again. Don't let them sit in the rain either though. It can rust the crank bearings and destroy the whole saw. After that they slowly grind apart and destroy the engine the more it runs. I've worked on em my whole life, have seen just about everything
Yeah. Ive never had any issues, but then again, the heat index has been over 105 everyday this week. lol I completely agree with the rain. But what do you expect when you let a piece of machinery exposed to the bare elements. lol. Thanks for watching.
Those are gold! I cook mine to this too 😅😂
❤🦁
lol

Moterbike Mike here, Dude you inspire me to want to build one myself. I already have a frame I was going to put an average on but when I seen your video about a month ago I started looking for a kx85 on market place. Good luck I can't wait to see it finished. Peace out bro
Im honored. Its been a very fun project, but im bummed it will be a while longer before its actually driveable, much less DONE (you probably know how it is). The engine mount was actually really easy to make (as long as you have a welder) and I wouldn't say you are limited to the KX85 engine. You could probably do the same with a YZ, RM, or Cr engine as well. If you are gonna go with the KX engine, note that the Kx80, Kx85, and Kx100 share pretty much the same bottom end and cylinder cast. The dimensions between the three are IDENTICAL and the only difference is the cylinder bore (stroke is the same) and I believe the clutches are a tad different. So if you are gonna use the KX platform, go with a Kx100, since its IDENTICAL in shape and size, but should give you almost 30hp instead of the KX85's 26 or so.
I think he loves you too
lol. I would say so.
Continue greetings from Saudi Arabia
WOW! Thats cool. Thanks for watching.
WOW, looks like they gave you the parts from the bottom of the barrel. I just watched another video of a Minarelli unboxing from California Motorbikes and everything was perfect. Hope it turned out well.
Yeah. This was the first of first to order this engine and just like anything, it takes a bit of time to iron out things. The quality now is pretty dang good, but their machine work on these first engines were not that great. lol. Thanks for watching.
I love your vid
Aww. Thank you. Thanks for watching.
I have the exact same bike and I hit 38mph on it.
Cool. It really depends on gearing and whatnot, but this bike could do about that as well. Not too shabby for a combined $200 bike
that doesn’t have oiling problems?
Not at all. I did a complete rebuild after over 100 hours on the engine. So far, no scoring, literally no noticeable wear on the con rod bearings, even running almost straight ethanol, there's no visible wear on the piston and the heads looked clean AF.
How do you address the cnc shorty intake problem of canting the carburetor downhill? Every bike I put a shorty on has the carb facing downhill causing float movement issues.
Huh. I live in the foothills of the Appalachian mountains and go up some SERIOUS hills and have never noticed an issue with the shorty intake. If you are having a problem, you'll have the same problem with the stock intake.
Luckily, I live near Miami. Went to MZ Miami and picked up an MZ65, scratch and dent deal for $40. Haven't mounted it yet, still working out the degree wheel/ porting side of things.
NICE! That should be a KILLER setup once you get everything figured out.
I recommend trashing the cheap gas lines and buying a thicker hose mine just leaked all my gas out over night
Yes. It is recommended to all builders to use high quality fuel line. Even the cheaper "fuel line" shrinks and gets SUPER brittle.
Awesome info to put out there. I someday plan on having something setup. I still think the stuff has much to improve on. And hands down videos like this is helping these setups get there. Great Job!
It’s not designed to be a vertical engine omg I can’t believe it’s running like that 😂🎉
lol. You won't believe how many people say that. You are correct, but due to multiple conditions and the design of the engine crankcase, you are able to simply add a bit of oil (24oz instead of 16oz when mounted horizontally). With over 100 hours on this engine and knowing MANY with MUCH more use on theirs, I've never seen any premature wear, much less due to improper lubrication. Thanks for watching
@@a.m.bgarage.everydayprojec9665 dude that’s wild I mean if it works can’t hate on it! Just something you don’t see learn something knew everyday appreciate the knowledge could be useful in a weird space.🫡
These are epic heck yeah.
I know, right. lol. And itll be even cooler after im done with it.
80's kid dream 😊
Heck yeah. Its my dream too. I want to ride this thing SO BADLY. lol
does that muffler shoot hot 🥵 exhaust at your right leg?
Lol. It doesn't get too terribly hot.
What kind of sprocket is that?
Just a cheap $10 44t sprocket I got off Amazon. It mounts directly to the disc brake rotor mounts on the wheel and is SUPER sturdy.
Beautiful that's my gold
lol. Thanks for watching
Get a 1976 Mikuni, jets at 35 and 75. Has metal floaters, I love those things. Thanks for sharing.
Yeah. The older mikuni's were DOPE! Thanks for watching
Hmm interesting
#1 timing hands down. Have to grind the keyway to change the timming. From the factory, the timing is on the ragged edge of being so advanced that they won't even run. And the crankcase weight is an absolute joke. It's like four times too heavy. These are not good engines for the most part. Also, most people are gearing them for way too much top end and they don't even do anything.
I agree. Ignition timing is definitely a good mod, but I didn't want to include that because I dont know much about it personally. Not to mention, my minarelli, as well as many others' engines run BEASTLY with the stock timing, so I see no real reason to change it.
@a.m.bgarage.everydayprojec9665 I guess i can't speak on all the engines timing now that i think about it. My experience is with the cheapest black ones from 4 or 5 years ago. Maybe there's a lot of variation.
i made fried rice, and marinara sauce with deep fried catfish last night. it was terrible. catfish was good af but rice just dont work with marinara very well lol
lol.
Emulsion tubes for 2t and 4t are different
Yes. I wasnt gonna get into emulsion tubes in this video cause that is out of most people's element and while emulsion tube tuning does help, its not really needed for most applications.
Great now try zaza
I have no clue what that is. lol.
Lol
Are you stalking me? This video is only two days old? And this is exactly what i needed right now
lol. Thanks for watching
That’s cool I been wanting to build one up
They do look cool, but MAN are they a pain to ride and maintain. lol. Thanks for watching.
Ty bro! Everyone is asking about a video about that carb! Ur the bomb
Thanks for watching.
Seeing join pay buttons more and more these days on smaller channels new trend?
I honestly try to make my channel as informative and beneficial as possible without needing to pay anything. Im not doing UA-cam to get paid, but to help people and show off my latest projects. But when I was signing up to get my channel monetized, it made it seem like I needed to setup a membership page. I'm actually looking into deleting it, cause I dont want to appear like a sell out. lol. I want to make known that this hobby does not at all revolve around money, but time, skills, and experience (you know this very well) and when it comes down to it, I dont want anybody to pay for my knowledge and experience. lol
Hey guys, My carburetor is leaking gas from the cover area which i think is called a float. Its the NT carburetor with the red cover. I checked my donut it has no holes and it wasn't stuck. Any advice?
Make sure the carburetor is not at too much of an angle and is virtually horizontal. If this doesnt fix your issue, make sure your float needle is installed correctly and seals properly. If these dont solve your issue, try bending the little tab for the float's needle upwards a bit, so it shuts off the fuel flow sooner.
@@a.m.bgarage.everydayprojec9665 My carburetor is on a good angle, how can I check if my needle is installed correctly and seals properly? Which tab it it the one that the donut pushes up against? If so how do I bend it up? Sorry I can usually fix any problem w my bike but when it comes to carburetors....It doesn't look good for me. Thanks! Let me know
@@ayyanahmad4602 Im actually planning on filming a video on this because Ive been asked this question, so look out for that (probably tonight).
@@a.m.bgarage.everydayprojec9665 Ight man ill be waiting on that. I also have a video of my problem as well. Thanks!
