This Is how Infiniti's commercial for these cars should have been! Amazing work guys. Can't wait to get back into one of these again and pickup another exhaust system
Thought this was an Intro to a Motor Trend video then realized the music choice was too good. lol excellent work gents down at Fast Intentions, any word if you plan to offer Colder air intakes down the line? Stillen kinda dropped the ball so many are looking for an alternative.
Thanks for the kind words and positive feedback. We have an upgraded Heat Exchanger in the works. Hoping to have that released around late Dec. early Jan 2018. As for the CAI, nothing in the works at this time.
I first met Danny in 2005 when he made a non-resonated exhaust kit for my B6 S4. The car sounded absolutely insane! I got pulled over by the police twice while driving not to get a ticket, but to ask me where I got the exhaust because they wanted one for their s4’s.. they expanded from a dive garage in Northridge to a state-of-the-art facility in Simi Valley.. congrats to their success. I’ve moved on to a f80 m3, but unfortunately they don’t make a system for my car. I went with AWE. But I still look to see what you guys are up to. Keep up the good work🤙🏾
Honestly these cars need to be completely straight piped, they are very, very quiet. Even some videos where I've haeard custom straight piped ones they barely even get close to the sound of the GTR. In the future I want a Q50RS hopefully by then Armytrix makes a Exhaust for these cars.
I am getting a catalytic converter error code after installing mine... I plan on flashing the ECU soon with a custom tune. I was told that will disable the stupid CEL.. Did you have that issue? or seen it?
Yes, our system fits all versions of the Q50 VR30DDTT. Learn more at the link attached: www.fastintentions.com/product_info.php/cPath/41_50_169_171/products_id/289
If you don't find your answer... the difference would probably come down to the engine itself (obviously), but if not that the actual turbos used and any differences in flow (intake, intake manifold etc.). You also need to factor in your drivetrain- are you looking at an AWD or RWD model etc.
Bisterk Ding I actually found the answer. So with the non RS you will get more gains because there are no turbo sensors unlike the RS has them to keep turbos in check (which I'm sure tuners can mess with). The RS will plateau out, the 3.0tt however will gain more power....not much though but will be super unreliable plus unlike the RS the 3.0tt doesn't have heat exchangers which aids in the RS 400hp boost it has.
Honestly if I was a RS 400 owner trying to see real gains I'd probably drop the factory turbos anyway. Also one huge factor for somebody who really wants to work on the car would be that the RS has a higher displacement engine (I believe).
True. You are right. I want to do more research to see if that motor can handle the extra boost like it's VR38 counterpart. I will miss the old VQ37 but the new VR30 has so much potential
Nearly everyone I've talked to with the JB4 kit actually ended up just snagging a tune after a few months and preferred the tune, if your on the Q50 forums a good number of people just made the jump so a good time to ask them.
97thRanger The few people I've spoken with who owned a JB4 kit ended up selling them and going with tunes from people at ECUTek. The JB4 Kit is a physical device used to trick the system into allowing for more fuel/air into the engine and turbos thus creating more boost/power base on a select parameters, and while the JB4 allos for much greater control over something like the JB1 it's not actually a true tune is a software level by-pass which provides a much massive degree of control over the system. If you want to really push the VR30 motor to it's limits a tune from someone like ECUTek is the way to go, if you just want your car to be more responsive around town and really give you a kick at WOT without going to crazy the JB4 kit is great.
BigHeadClan thanks because I own a q50 my self and most deffently would like to tune it but don’t wasn’t to spend $$$ so if I get BMS jb1/4 idk which one is the one for Q50 and put it to like 6+ boost u think I would be fine
97thRanger - No problem both the JB1 and JB4 are for the Q50 the JB4 is an add-on that allows for more precise control (which you need to go past 3PSI), if you have a RS400 though I don't recommend going past +2/ +3 PSI anyhow as the stock turbo's are pretty small and a few people have blow their engines up already. lol Stillen did a really good write up on the Q50's engine/turbos and what type of tuning overhead they have, I'd recommend giving that a read before you dive headfirst into any of this.
jnagime, If you are asking if a tune is required with our exhaust, it depends on which combination you run: 1) Cat-back only: No tune required 2) Cat-back + Lower Dowpipes: No tune required 3) Cat-back + Full Downpipes with cats: No tune required 4) Cat-back + Full Downpipes without cats: A tune is required Feel free to reach out by email: info@fastintentions.com, or by telephone: (805) 522-3278 and we can help get you set up with what you need. Fast Intentions so basically you can run the whole catback system with downpipes without a tune as long as it has the cats still in, but if you run catback, downpipes and no cats youll need a tune? Is that because no cats causes a different afr mixture?
I am getting wet just thinking about getting an AWD Q50/Q60. Question for you: How is it that one does not need a tune with a turbo-back? I am in a Subaru and every darn thing that changes on the car needs a tune. I have a special love for Infiniti as I had a 2004 and a 2005 G35 coupe 6MT and later a 2012 G35S 6MT sedan.

Tyler, both cars in the video are RS400s. Both have the exact same mods; our Full Downpipes, CBE & Tune. In the event you wanted to compare the S300 to a RS400, you will see comparable numbers in TQ and about 15-20 less HP in power. The S300 heat soaks a lot faster than the RS400, which effectively lowers the consistency of numbers. That said, with an upgraded heat exchanger, the S300 can put down equal if not greater numbers than the RS400. Keep in mind that this info only applies with our Downpipes, CBE & Tune.
Fast Intentions, Awesome yeah I know the video was the rs400s but was very curious if the s300 was even majorly different from the rs400 but you answer the question on the dot so thank you
No worries at all. The main difference is that the S300 yields about 10psi from the factory, as where the RS400 is at about 15psi. Via breathing mods and tuning, we can get both cars virtually identical in PSI and performance numbers. About 17-18 psi though, these turbos are pushed past their threshold of efficiency. If you notice in the dyno graphs, the power goes with the boost and as it drops off in PSI it all goes with it! Clearly this car is begging for a larger hot side (turbo exhaust wheel) to allow this thing to really shine. That said, we are very happy with the numbers we are able to achieve through these mods, especially considering this is all done on CA 91 octane. 93 octane or even a little ethanol and we can safely bring in a little more low end/mid range to yield even higher numbers.
yeah i'm totally shocked on the power there making over the now old 3.7 power plant that i love but thank you for all the good info if i end up trading up for the new 3.0tt
Not shocking at all. It's forced induction vs. NA power plant. What's more shocking is that Nissan/Infiniti actually brought it to life! No worries on the info. We love sharing it with people who actually care to hear it. If you ever step into a 3.0tt or need anything for your existing 3.7L, please consider us. Thanks. - Tony
Any reason why your guy's cat back isn't available in California when it's only a cat back I can purchase any other cat back but why is this one illegal in California?
because if you are going to tune your car after your add-ons you'll be making the same power for both the basic 3.0 and RS. Both cars have the same exact engine except RS is tuned for more boost from factory.
No it wouldn't, the 3.7 is na while this motor is tt. An exhaust on an na motor does jack shit compared to a forced induction one. They do make an exhaust for the 3.7 but you need a retune if you want the 15+ hp it gives.

This looks very interesting! Any mod to raise the hp!
How is driveability with this? Looks like the power curve that in infinti intended and optimized all the components for has been bastardized somewhat.
Love your videos, and I just ordered your resonated CBE with sport mufflers and LDP! Can’t wait!

Cause turbos act as a muffler
A 3.0 l will never sound as good as a 3.8. If you want GTR sound, the 3.7VQ would be a better option.

lol maybe +10hp at most.
does the none 3.0t non red sport make the same power being that it's the same engine or is it different?
same engine, non red sport makes 300hp, Red Sport makes 400
No there both red sports
