Crowded Kuala Lumpur, food and Vipassana. Vlog from Malaysia

- I am solo travelling in Asia. Malaysia is my second country after Sri Lanka. I've been only in Kuala Lumpur but it was immense difference after calm and peaceful paddy fields in my village. I like to be in more calm and rural places with nature and good food, but sometimes is good to kick your ass and see the reality of this world.
If you like my videos you can watch more vlogs:
Kazakh food and what I’ve learned
• Kazakh food and what I...

if you like calmer side of Malaysia, try east coast Malaysia but now is Monsoon season so that part is hit by flood. If you like nature, look at east Malaysia, Sabah and Sarawak

That is why there are a lot of air-conditioned malls throughout South East Asia. We are trying to escape the heat and humidity
@@dharmaosman184 I mean that’s good, helps with heat. In Kazakhstan, for example in Astana, there are a lot of shopping malls, because during winter sometimes it’s -40 and very windy, it’s impossible to walk outside. So it’s a good option to save your body from being frozen. I was just thinking how we are, as people created society, where the main attractions are shopping and eating. Why not meditation cells, just kidding 😃, but could be yeah?!
@TheDiaryofTheSage The meditation cells are cool, I have seen your display of the Vipassana. However I am just wondering. Can it work in -40? For the tropics, at high humidity and +40 degrees, the mind can be conditioned to ignore. But at -40? This is an honest question out of curiosity. I have only been in temperate countries just a few times for work but never experience -40. What do you think?
@ I think yes. Because you know they heat the buildings so intense and so hot inside, and it feels so cosy, right place to meditation 😁
@@TheDiaryofTheSage Ok thanks. I guess so. You are in Sri Langka now?
@ yes
I tried 10-days Vipassana in Malaysia last year.
At first you might not feel much difference. After a while, you will realise the teachings start to relate to the events that you may encounter. At least that's how I went through.
@@jarrettyew I practice 1.5 year, and while my life changed after this practice. And that is why I keep attending courses, serve and try to sustain my practice. But I have some low moments now, questioning is it my path or not. I still have a practice in my life but not much as it used to be. How it with you? Do you practice two times in a day one hour?
@@TheDiaryofTheSageSome day you will have to stop wandering and establish roots. All Practice, including this Practice, will become meaningful when you establish roots.
Love your storytelling skills. I hope to see more videos from you.
@TheDiaryofTheSage So far I didn't spend too much in the sitting practice. I was only able to do it in the centre but couldn't do it when at home. Since the idea is about finding the way that works for ourselves, I ended up talking long walks (which I did in the centre too) and observe the breathing which kinda work well for me.
Not sure about you, but the vibrations observed sometimes can be intimidating like it signifies nothingness. When you're present at the moment, every path that you choose is always the right one. It's the temporary discomfort that makes you second guess yourself.
I was hitting my rock bottom too early this year and questioned myself a lot. But now I look back and realise those events are necessary connect the dots. As Goenka mentioned it's futile without direct experience.
If you want to count the result, you should also account the struggles that comes with it. It's the yin and yang to find the balance and equanimity.
@@almas806 thank you so much ❤️🙏🏼
@@jarrettyew wow thank you for your words, right exactly at the time when I needed. When I started practice vipassana, I knew that it is not my path, but I really appreciate this knowledge and that period of life it was on time. After my first course, I was sitting 2 hours in a day three months, and really saw the big results in my brain. But that period was very calm, I used to live in the village with little communications and other stuff. I was guessing is it applicable for me when I will move to the big city again? Can I sustain it? Of course it always depends on our commitment. But in my case I started to see that it is not my path, and I need to let go. Again detachment 🙏🏼

Sri Langka is not hot and humid?
@@fuadarif4056 Yes the same I guess, but I don’t walk here much. Maybe only early morning or late evening on the beach. I’m the cities it’s more easy to walk, not in the villages in Sri Lanka
Sri lanka surrounded by ocean humidity is even higher....I was there for 2 weeks
@ ah really? I don’t really know exactly. But for me in general it seemed that KL was hotter. I think because of the glass buildings and the light that reflected from it, also a lot of people and cars, and air cannot move freely.
Being in KL (for few days) and never try SATAY is a crime...
😎
@@Dixgn644 OMG I will try next time 🙈🤭
If you like to feel relax and calm in Malaysia go visit the village in Malaysia....❤👍 Malaysia rank 10 most safest country in the world....
@@zanzillahsaruji9966which villages will you recommend me? ☺️
what's that Vipassana?
@@afifi-my vipassana it’s meditation from Buddhist philosophy, that helps to recognize the true nature of attachment and impermanence, develop equanimity for every event that we have. So there are a lot of dharma centers around the world established by S.N.Goenka. Who spread the knowledge about this meditation. They provide 10,20,45,60 days vipassana retreats, where you are doing nothing except meditation. No talking, reading, writing. Its really helps to ground down and self reflect. But of course not the easiest technique, because meditating 10 hours is harsh.
It’s not a religious organization, and I’m not a Buddhist. But this is the very good tool for raising the level of consciousness 🙏🏼
You can't compare KL a capital city to a village in Sri Lanka you haven't even been to a Malaysian village. You tried fancy japanese restaurants not even Malaysian of course its gonna be expensive everything it has to import will cost more. You refused to try the local street food all the street food in Malaysia are vetted and requires license to operate but you cant say that for a lot other countries. Its very safe and cheap but you missed out on that. You chose mall foods and fancy places who got their food license from the same government officials . KL has more green than any other capital cities of the world. It has balance and real Malaysian people do cook every day but they have affordable options to eat out if needed to at local food places. At the end of the day its a city. A fair comparison would be Colombo in Sri Lanka city to city but village to village.
kuala dhaka malondesh 😂😂😂
@@mr3111 I’m not comparing village with KL:) I said that it was big shift after village to go such a big city. In the video I say also that I had long trip by LRT and saw more green places and calm life, and my friend she is Malaysian and she shared with me a lot about life. That is why I want to go back to Malaysian again and travel🤭. But if to compare with Colombo, KL is more developed and bigger. About food, I had different options on the streets too. Cheap stuff also, but to be honest I’m not ready to try all the street food varieties as I said in the video. Even it’s cheap. Because I had IBD many years and don’t want to trigger my gut:)
