The Malaysian Chineses’ ancestor left China for Malaysia before the Cultural Revolution, making our traditional culture intact and distinct. We still speak our Southern Chinese languages (Cantonese, Hokkien, Hakka, Teochew, Hainan, Fuzhou, Guangxi, Sankiang), and retain a lot of the old customs and culture.
The high pole lion dance, Lou sang, Bakuteh dish were invented in Malaysia. We too produce the most Chinese New Year songs, even more than China Hong Kong and Taiwan.

There is ONLY ONE WAY to keep anything alive. EAT, SPEAK, READ and USE it everyday.
This is a time honored method for any culture.

Nothing to be kept alive when Chinese culture is part of Malaysian culture.
