  • The hardware store is a great place to find pattern making tools for gel printing! The dryer vent duct work makes wonderful thin lines on a print. Blog post at bit.ly/2zjS0BD

You can find me designing stencils for StencilGirl Products, teaching in person and online workshops and sharing the message of O.O.P.S. here on UA-cam and on the blog, aColorfulJourney.com
What does O.O.P.S. stand for? It stands for Outstanding Opportunities Presenting Suddenly.
Those “failures” and “mistakes” that we so harshly criticized ourselves about actually became true gifts as soon as you start saying O.O.P.S. Try saying Oops in an angry tone. It makes it even more silly!
I just can’t take myself seriously when I say Oops which is just what I needed to play. I began to play, to have fun, and to embrace all of my “mistakes”.

This is brilliant, and I even have a big hunk of dryer vent in the garage that the installers messed up. I knew I would find a use for it!

Guess I'll be hitting the hardware store tomorrow! My niece is coming to visit this weekend. She's crafty, so I'm going to show her the Joy's of gel printing!

Carolyn- I enjoy your videos so much! I’m addicted to gelli, and I can’t believe I missed something this cool to use on it!! You can bet I’m off to the hardware store in the morning.... lol! Your reminders that art is play has helped me so much on my journey. Just a few weeks ago I was experimenting with some distress ink pads on my plate, and did NOT get the desired results. Disgusted, I set the tags aside until inspiration for my OOPS arrived, and they turned out in the end to be some of my most favorite pieces I’ve done. Now if I could replicate it! Lol!! Thanks for keeping it fun 😁

Great! Now I have to go buy some dryer vent! LOL Loved this technique. By the way, here’s a challenge for you. How about figuring out how to make your own version of that fabulous purple color? Looks like it could be fun!

I had often wondered why there was seldom purple in your ‘rainbow’ pieces!!

You can order direct from Plaza Arts...shipping was a bite but if you spend enough it is free. I had to have it too! www.plazaart.com/paint/acrylic-paints-mediums/plaza-acrylics-mediums/plaza-studio-acrylic-neon

I have a Plaza Arts store that I go to every now and then and they have not had the same color in the tube with the same name- for over 6 months- it is like the formula changed :(
