I agree, I will never be into electric and hybrid cars. All these will be is more junkyard or garbage landfill space after the or within the 1st year buying this car. But at least the Fisker is one of my favorite modern designs and the interior is beautiful, but that is it. 😂😂

@CB They should have put it TTV6 and then have a separate hybrid model that way it's more appealing and it's easier to keep emissions in check

this ain't the same as a pruis. a prius is propelled by the electric motor and the gas engine, but these fiskers use the engine strictly as a generater. its not connected to the wheels whatsoever.

I love the Fisker Karma. One of the best modern vehicle designs and the interior is beautiful. But this was a waste of money to spend on a hybrid. This is why getting hybrids and electric cars are a waste of an investment.

Seeing a Fisker Karma is quite the treat. Specially one that has obviously been driven a lot. I'm surprised it hasn't caught on fire yet. Also, the engine in these cars only kicks in when the battery is about to die to charge it. It does not power the car whatsoever. And it's just a small 4 cylinder.

So u kno…. The inside of the muffler rattles when the motor kicks in. That’s y it was taken off because it can be taken off n replaced with straight pipe
the engine is not actually connected to the wheels at all. the engine spins a generator which charges the batteries and the batteries power the electric motors and turn the wheels. so the engine is like a generator.
Goodness me! thats the loudest exhaust I think I've ever heard in my life. Speakers wont do is justice but how did you go about this without earmuffs?

A kid at my school drives one every day 😂 still confused as to the designing of the car
He had to put it in sport mode via the left paddle and give it immediate gas i. D to get tbe engine to turn on. It will always be in electric only in reverse.
To get the GAS side to kick in... U put ur foot on the brake.. THen give it some gas at the same time.... and it will turn on the gas engine. just dont take ur foot off the brake. got to do GAS and brake..and idle it up slowly.. til the engine kicks in.
Interesting so they run the exhaust like the SLR exiting after the front tires... but dumped rather than side pipes. Learn something new everyday.

The Fisker Karma is actually a hybrid sedan.
given it's got a GM sourced generator - it might work if you pop the hood - you'd at least hear it idle. otherwise put it in Sport mode and the ICE engine will turn on while driving.
if it's quiet like this, then why it has a muffler ?? Muffler removed, still super quiet !!
Pretty sure there will be moments the engine will engage and make noise. Just needs the right scenarios. I assume highway driving is one way

It’s wild the engine isn’t connected to the wheels all the engine does is generate electricity for the battery pack and the electric motor and the solar roof helps keep the 12v battery charged so u can use the ac and heat

Smart man. This car deserves more than being just another crappy and landfill electric or hybrid vehicle. The Fisker Karma has always interested me, but I never would buy one unless it is only petrol or diesel.
😅The engine is only to charge the batteries. It's just a generator. If you want it to kick in, you have to deplete the batteries

The Ecotec isn't connected to the wheels at all, it's used as a "range extender", or a generator. Interesting concept, poor execution.
