Not heard it called a mech here in uk for about 20 year's call them a Derailleur nowadays, one thing though never bent a rear mech hanger in 30 yrs of riding lol that sounds to weird now
Until the screw in the plastic pivot quits holding. I have one, and it’s horrible. Just bought the Abbey. All metal.
For someone like me that has a built in hanger on my frame I have no choice but to buy one of these or pay a shop to adjust it. I found one on amazon for 30 bucks to try.
Let me know how that amazon one works.
I think a derailleur hanger alignment tool is a bit overkill for the home mechanic as it's cheaper and easier to simply replace the derailleur hanger.

@@MikeMassey-fi5of It's not hard to keep them in stock when you only own one or two bikes. I always carry a spare derailleur hanger with me when I ride.
You’re not entirely wrong. But I’m always surprised by how easily and how frequently our hangers are bent. The hassle of finding a replacement is often superseded by 10 minutes with the alignment tool.
I’ve also had new hangers bent. Also OP your B gap was off because there was no sag. Remember FS needs the B gap set at sag.
