I've never seen a Blacktastic run before, but I wanted to say that I absolutely loved his energy and charisma, and the chemistry he had with his commentator and the host, and the audience as well! A very enjoyable run to watch, thank you :)
Completely agreed. Bobby's runs are always such a delight - they hit that perfect cross-section of humor, technical explanation, gameplay, and just inspiring energy. I try to catch any runs he does for each GDQ
I've had a lot of fun watching his GDQ channel runs. I recommend going back in the catalogue to watch the Super Boss Bros videos with him and Big Jon. Especially fun if you like game shows or just some wacky games in general.
The entire interaction from 25:50 to 26:15 had me rolling, that had some of the most "Patty" vibes I've seen in a GDQ, the confident "no" after being asked if he heard the guy in the crowd had me absolutely cracking up. Love this guy's presentation, and the most intense "Time" call too was a great laugh. Would love to see more of him in future GDQ's.
Lil info on Sega Channel: One time activation fee that covers the rental of the device $25 Reoccurring monthly payment: $15 Required Landline phone connection (everyone had one anyway Sega Channel was an incredibly good value, only overshadowed by the relative age of the console's technology. $100 would get you five months of 50 rotating games of which you'd probably have 150 or so different ones, plus exclusives like Alien Soldier and previews of things like Comix Zone; cool contests; instructions for each game; hints and codes; up to date news feeds
Great run! I really like how the backgrounds to all these stages look - especially the Wily levels, on the NES they had such putrid colors and were rather boring looking, but here they’ve got much more personality.
I always said "Bubble Lead" as in the element lead, until I played this game in Japanese. It's spelled "Babburu Ri-do," so intended to be read as "leader." It kind of makes sense, given that it leads out in front of you on the ground. So yeah, I let the Japanese determine my pronunciations. :)
I also presumed the Plumbum-related pronunciation. It's a heavy bubble that falls to the ground and Mega Man's color scheme is grey. Interesting to hear the Japanese name, oddly not something I had thought to look up.
when i played this game for the first time quick man was so easy for me since i used the time freeze power and it did half his health then i just dodged him and shot him with the lemons
Look the stream didn't get really blurry now, the waterfall's fine, ooh yeah, ooh yeah! It's crazy because I thought the only Mega Man for the Sega was the BS Rockman romport.
Runner introduction starts at 1:29

Seriously, this was some of the best runner/couch banter I've seen

Fantastic run Blacktastic
- Signed, the guy that ran this game the last time it was at a GDQ
Really enjoyed the Wily Tower run years ago, Siege! Compliment means a lot coming from you
Love Blacktastic's energy here

MegaMan was a big part of my childhood and I always love to see it! His energy was great and what a fun run!
Great run, great attitude, great energy, and even better a game I'm not familiar with!
Great run! I love how charismatic both commentators are!

This run was fun and Blacktastic is entertaining and his enthusiasm is unmatched.
Good run. Even at my peak 20 years ago I couldn't pull off most of those shenanigans.
Blacktastic is fantastically charismatic and ATE up the stage, great run, great performance

It's cool that even Megamind showed up to watch this speedrun. And to shout "Hydrocity" from the gallery.
"Bubble LEED" vs "Bubble LED"
The Japanese was バブルリード (bubble LEED), but I have no idea what they really meant by that.
It's a bubble that leads the other bubbles?
Bubble lead probably
Always figured Lead (Pb), cause they're heavy and don't float
@@Enjamb_ment Mega Man is also grey, further pushing the association.
really wish we could've see the megaman 3 run as well, but that phase 2 skip was pretty worth. Great run by an awesome runner
The very first video game I have a clear memory of playing is Mega Man 2, on the classic NES, at my grandparents house.
This was so damn cool to see.
Blacktastic is one of the best runners to watch, regardless of game. Can't wait for him to come back and get that Bloodstained run in!
Digging this runner and this game! Only seen the previous run. Haven't gone to play this yet, even though I've picked up a copy.
Awesome run and commentary. Never forget: people love Dragon Ball.
18:48 As a fan of the FGC, this made me smile
this version is so pretty! and Bobby's energy is great. what an entertaining run!
that's amazing, great run
as a non native speaker, I'm happy to see the that the "how to say bubble lead" is a thing
god the robot master fight music is so fantastic
What a great runner.
That was awesome!! :)

I much prefer the NES background and visuals for those games. The Mega Drive versions look way too busy.
Mega Man's animations are also horrendous and he doesn't feel as smooth to control as in the NES/Wii games.
I think saga version looks prettier but controls just a little worse over all a great remake though
24:06 - DOS Mega Man disagrees. ;)
Why does Bubble Man need a mask to breathe but Mega Man doesn’t?
I love Iggy's enthusiasm.
34:39 The giggles
Wait, the platforms in Bubbleman stage do not fall off????????????????

Which version of this game is this and what was the hardware used to run it?
And now the game is on NSO
This game is now on Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack.
Just in time.
when i played this game for the first time quick man was so easy for me since i used the time freeze power and it did half his health then i just dodged him and shot him with the lemons
YO WAIT IT BEGAN ALREADY??

Coincidentally, about the time of this run Wily Wars was placed on the admittedly overpriced Switch Online service with Expansion Pack
