This brings back a lot of memories. My parents and I went to the movie theaters damn near every weekend. We would go to the Beltway Plaza mall in Greenbelt, MD. Then have some pizza at the 3 Brothers spot inside the mall, every once in a while my father would take me to the arcade spot while my mom went shopping and then we would go to the movies. When I watch this intro I think of so many movies I’ve watched. Scream, From Dust Till Dawn, The 5th Element, Blade, Halloween H2O, Deep Rising, The Negotiator. So many
My family went to see The Phantom Menace when I was three years old. I only remember certain things about the experience. Darth Maul getting cut in half, and this theater opening... One of my first memories.
This trailer will always have a special place in my childhood memories. My parents, sister, and I saw this trailer before "Bicentennial Man" (very underrated movie and RIP Robin Williams and Lynn Thigpen) in January 2000 at the old AMC Crown Center 6 in Kansas City. I was in 5th Grade in the midst of preparing for "Wordmasters," a nationwide vocabulary and analogy contest. One of the words I had to learn was "staff," which can mean a musical scale. During this trailer, my mom asked me something to the effect of "What is that thing which has the notes on it?", to which I replied "A staff!"
I remember this, most people probably remember the mascot jumping out of a soda container but I remember this much more, right around when General Cinemas closed in the town I grew up it reopened as an AMC theater "but in 2009 they closed it now it's a Roxy Cinema" Update it's an abandoned building now.
I went to AMC Studio 30 to see The Princess Diaries (2001) which had the 1996-2002 AMC Theatres Feature Presentation bumper shown intact It will literally be my #1 movie of 2020 because it is marketed to girls
So this is the legendary "Clip the Conductor" trailer I have only read about. This is my first time seeing it, and it's a lot less surreal than I imagined.
The Grinch was probably the first movie I ever saw only at AMC when I was 4 at Universal CityWalk in Orlando (now a Cinemark) during our family trip back in late-2000. I think I've actually seen this FP trailer before that movie, but I was probably tired that I fell asleep for a bit (even during and after the previews preceding with the FP trailer) after all the walking and holding hands with a parent lol
1996 is the correct date for when this was first used. I specifically remember seeing this at the former AMC Metro North Plaza before "Space Jam" and "101 Dalmatians", both were released in late 1996.
This is where I'm gonna put here on my Now: 100 Hits: Movies playlist when the official ad comes out! 😃😀😄😆 Think of it as a movie theater-inspired opening act.

I think the AMC feature presentation is amazing!
Me too and I think the AMC theaters should use this again
It’s abandoned now…
When our local General Cinema first became an AMC, they used this Feature Presentation intro.

Well the AMC theaters should use the word there's a difference after saying "don't text or call anyone" and "don't ruin the movie".
Well the AMC theatres should use that part in 0:27 again.
