General Cinema (2001-2002)

  • Quite the unexpected rarity. The final General Cinema policy trailer was screened at select GCC theaters one year after the company filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy. This was produced as the chain switched their beverage supplier to Coca-Cola, though reports online stated some GCCs were still screening the Pepsi-sponsored 1997 Candy Band trailer during this time period. In 2002, General Cinema went defunct and most of their complexes were absolved to AMC Theatres.
This was produced by Cinema Concepts and was downloaded from their website's Trailer Park. I do not own nor claim to own any of the material presented here. General Cinema Corporation is a trademark of JTE Multimedia, LLC.

It was General Cinema's last policy trailer before AMC Theatres swiped them. This was when Cellphones started becoming popular until Smartphones took over.

I don't live in USA, but I can feel how your favorite cinema went into demise and taken over by another company which changed it into something you can't relate to anymore.
I kept replaying the intro and policy trailer of my fav cinema, with a tiny hope it'd come back someday... Well maybe not.

the whole company shut down. it went Bankrupt. in the early 2000 ticket prices were like 4-6 dollars, but GCC wanted to charge twice that so people stopped going. I remember they started to build a GCC theater not to far from me but GCC went bankrupt and shutdown about midway through the construction. The site is now a Walmart, the only thing big enough to fit in that vacant spot.
