- Transferred from a feature presentation trailer I obtained while working at Mann's Kipling Place 6 Theaters. Fairly beat up, but still classic. It's been in my possession for over 20 years and now you're here watching it.

This was the soundtrack to my 1990s Mann movie going. Saw this at many Mann theaters I patronized. Including; Mann National, Mann Village, Mann Festival, Mann Bruin, Mann Plaza, Mann Westwood 4, Mann Criterion 6, Mann Chinese, Mann Del Amo 9, Mann Exchange 9 and Mann Regent. The good old days when 70mm still ruled!
Cinema Concepts and Flying Foto Factory produced this snipe for Mann Theatres in 1992. So glad to see an HD upload of this 35mm film scan.
Thank you for posting this. I worked at the chain in Fresno, CA (Fig Garden, Festival, Regency) from '94 till they shut down in '00.
THANK YOU! I've Been Looking Everywhere for this! ^^
𝗧𝗛𝗨𝗠𝗕𝗦 𝗨𝗣 𝗙𝗥𝗢𝗠 𝗔𝗟𝗔𝗡!
This one I remember from the Mann locations in San Diego (College Grove, Hazard Center and Valley Circle).
Beautiful opening and now in high quality HD and 4K form! Saw this at Mann 8 (later 10) Theatres at the Exchange in Glendale, CA! Later in 1997, the Mann Theatres "Searchlights" logo replace the 1992 logo at the end of this policy trailer.
@𝐋𝐮𝐧𝐚𝐌𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐚 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 It's been found. Courtesy of FT Depot: ua-cam.com/video/kF2v-D_b90s/v-deo.html
@𝐋𝐮𝐧𝐚𝐌𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐚 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 The audio was in low-tone, too with a dynamic bass sound (Notice how strong the bass sound was during the transit between a palm tree and space). And the Policy trailer itself was in a pinkish hue tone and 1.85:1 open-matte aspect ratio compare with this video masked in 2.35:1 scope. I guess Mann wanted to go back to the space background instead of passing through the palm tree into the lighter dark violet sky as a transition.
The nostalgia hits hard...
I miss this.
RIP Mann National & Del Amo 9. 😢
At least the Village and Bruin are still operations.
This, the animation, and music, give me the chills (especially the ending notes) BIG TIME if I were to see this 35mm Mann FP trailer alone in a dark theater as if I'm the first and only person in that theater lol. Is this from around the early-90s before in such films like the first 3 Ninjas movie, "Encino Man," "Dennis the Menace," etc.?
Speaking of "Ending Notes". The Ending Note is 1950s vibe.
Holey moley. The font in which Feature Presentation is written in looks exactly like it does on many Disney VHSes from the 90s. Well, at least this has the pleasure of being in stereo!
I'm curious as to why you uploaded this in 4K, as it was clearly rendered at a lower resolution. I'm watching this on a 1440p AMOLED and it doesn't look too good.
Also, will you sync this with the DTS audio that you had lying around?
I finally found MannDTS.mp3 after passing through Film-Tech. Seems to have less dynamic range, but it was a downmix, and the mp3 compression doesn't do good. It's also cut short at the beginning.
I hope Disney didn't cry foul about that...
No, that was a popular font at the time, it's called Laser. I had a local movie theater who used it on their sign, for one example.
In case you were wondering, that font was also used in the logo for southeastern regional theatre chain Marquee Cinemas, based in West Virginia.
The font used for the "Feature Presentation" text is Laser LET.
Mark Elliot: And now, our feature presentation.
He also did the voice over for the 1999 Cinemark best seat in town intro
that's the same font as the 1991 disney feature presentation
ArchiveofAwesomeness 1886 I know i see it!
Feature Presetation font: Laser LET
@@WysterzStudioz Cinemark used that font from 1993 until 1998. Caron Transportation of Canada currently uses it as well.
@@lighttower2931 That’s the fun fact of the day, that’s for sure!
Now this is from the mid 90’s right
Hi there, do you have the actual print for this trailer? Are there more by any chance?
That font looks familiar to the Disney tapes.
Where? In "Feature Presentation"?
@@gochem3013 Yep.
@@AlexAceves1994 of course it is! I checked and it looks the same!
Taken from Walt Disney Movies
0:33 It's already in stereo.
Nowadays, we have 5.1, 7.1 surround sound and Dolby Atmos.
@@AlexAceves1994
Dolby Atmos is not exist until 2012!
@@gochem3013 I know that.
I will sumed 1991/1992.
Is it still here today? I don't know
Nope. Mann Theatres went out of business in 2011
There is Mann Theatres of Minnesota, which is completely different from the Hollywood company.
