I think with these electric cars you are going to need things like the old days. Picnic tables, Restrooms small playground, a little store so you can do all your stuff at the same place. Look sort of like the old days we had Stucky's.
Nah, not worth my time managing charging for that long. I have free charge for 3 years at EA. Porsche has a protect battery life feature, I don't have to worry about it 🙂 also, I never keep my cars long anyways, not worth it. The tech is always changing
Great buy on the Panamera GTS, much more spacious than the Taycan 🙂 As for the range...itis on the lower side (though Germans are well known for under rating their EPA specs) but, after the recent software update I can get about 300 miles of range 🙂
the EPA range is lower than the car's actual range. People have reported 30-40 miles more range than advertised. You most likely aren't needing to drive 250miles in a day nonstop where more range is needed
Now your talking my language VAG....a car company not Tesla a technology company. I was looking at the ID4 but the range is for the most part an issue because I carry heavy stuff.
The ID4 is not a bad choice right now if you can get it for MSRP. If you can wait, I would get a Fisker Ocean Sport though, it makes the RX350 look small.
WOW I didnt know there were that many level 3s in barstow. Electrify America I have not not heard of them. Most are charge point. I was charged for parking at one of them.....Man.....In
I had no problem with the charging stations on the road trip; most of them were working as they were supposed to. However, when it comes to the smaller stations, they're not functioning as they should be.
It's been bareable with the plug and charge feature in the Taycan. It does help when you have second option to initial the charge (via Porsche app or plug and charge). There are times where I've had 3/4 chargers fail on me while on a roadtrip, but I was always able to charge. I don't have much complaints about EA since it's free. 350 kW are rarely working, but 150 kW always almost works. If the station is located in a very hot area, then it is very likely that the 350 kW stations are broken. I'd suggest checking the EA app before pulling in to see if it says " AVAILABLE." It is best to travel during the night time as well when all the stations are working properly. 🙂
Does anyone know if you can charge a 2016 Nissan Leaf (used) which has apx 75 mile range when fully charged) (I'm thinking of buying a used one but worried it can't make the trip from Baker to Barstow before running out of range) (they're approaching by the end of the year under 10,000 asking price with under 50,000 original miles now)
Oh no, don't take that trip with the Nissan Leaf. Firstly, there is no DC fast charging available on the 2016 model. Secondly, you'll have to rely on a single Level 2 charger and wait for it to charge. On top of that, it takes a good 6 hours to full charge with level 2, adding to the anxiety of hoping that the single EA charger is not broken.

Most of these chargers are usually at very convenient locations since the charger company would have to approve your business location 🙂
This is a great video resource. I wanna get an electric but socal to vegas is a trip we make frequently and i wanted to see how practical it is
cant you level 2 park in vegas? or do they only have fast chargers. Seems like they need more level 2s. Would be better for battery life.

Almost leased Turbo in 2021 but the range held back my pen ( just wouldn’t let me sign)
Panamera Gts was signed for instead .

Have you tried a paper napkin under the cup?
Confused 😅

Omg! You have to try the EA stations put, especially if you have an 800V + car. It's pure drugs compared to chargepoint especially when its free😆
Thank you Dawn you look so beautiful
Did you find most of the chargers working at EA??
I had no problem with the charging stations on the road trip; most of them were working as they were supposed to. However, when it comes to the smaller stations, they're not functioning as they should be.
At 93% your Taycan is still charging faster than a Bolt.
Haha, I would hope so! It only really tapers off at about 95%
how is your experience with EA?
