    Been watching a few Quar videos over the past few days and been thinking of getting the starter and maybe the two officer boxes on Wargaming Atlantic’s site, and boom, im convinced after seeing them on the field.
    Probably gonna get it for game night with the fam.

      @@CryHavocWarGamingoh certainly. Seems the rest of my family is equally into the “my dudes” aspect of miniature games, and quar seems to definitely favor making little stories with your lil army dudes. So itll be neat to paint with them and then play them.
      I went ahead and got the starter box, as well as the metal partisan army so that the three of us can each pant an army.
      So itll be some fun!

    Thanks for the report; it really helped me to understand the basic rules and concepts. Also, and this is a bit pedantic and you’re not the only one to say it that way, but it is “Cof- tyran” not “Crof-tyan”.

    It's NOT grim dark! In fact it's almost cute. Yes, it is war and a wargame but it is far from dark or grim. That is what attracts me the most.

    So I'm curious about two things and i am not sure where to find the answers. I got the starter set, read the "rhyfler's pocket book" and there seems to be something weird going on with the activation cards;
    1) you have 10 cards total - 3 5s, 4 4s and 3 3s. If you remove one at the beginning of each turn, then does one of the players have one fewer card drawn during the turn? Removing one leaves us with 9. Or do I draw the removed one after i'm done with the deck and each player gets 5 cards?
    2) i would imagine the priority before first turn can be decided by a die roll, but i am not clear on what happens after that, since the rulebook has no clear turn sequence explained. Do i roll for priority before each turn? Or do i just alternate with my opponent? Or do we just alternate drawing cards normally, as in: if i drew the last card on turn 1, then my opponent draws the first card on turn 2? It doesn't really solve the problem with the cards since with an odd number of turns one player always draws one card fewer

    • @CryHavocWarGaming
      @CryHavocWarGaming  Місяць тому +1

      @@MeanMan444 The way I understand it, and the way I play it, is we roll of for initiative once, at the beginning of the game. We flip over the discard card, and then player two pulls a card, and player one does their activations. When done, player one draws and player two activates. It does mean one player will activate on five cards and the other four. Whatever the card that was discarded was matters more than number, as it might be a five it might be a three. After all the cards are played, the turn ends, the cards are reshuffled, a new one Is discarded, and player one draws first for player two. So for the second turn which player has five cards and which has four will be flipped. In the end, players should be getting the same number of cards and rounds over the whole game, but NOT necessarily activations.

    Is it one combat action for a quar per round or per one whole cycle through the deck?

    • @CryHavocWarGaming
      @CryHavocWarGaming  28 днів тому

      This is one of the most confusing aspects of the Rhyfler's guide, not well explained in the book. It is One Combat Action per round or each card. The Activation guide on the Rhyflers.com helps explain it better. www.rhyfler.com/files/ActivationFAQ.pdf

    Does sprinting count as 2 actions on the rhyfler? If not why wouldn’t you always sprint no matter what

    • @CryHavocWarGaming
      @CryHavocWarGaming  19 днів тому +1

      Sprinting only counts as one action, but it cannot be used to close within an inch of the enemy. It is also forbidden to combine a sprint with a move or charge action on the same card.
