    Hi Sophie Marie, I can’t begin to say how glad I found you! I’m 54 and have been blow drying my curly hair straight for over 40 years; before deciding to embrace my curly-frizz 2 weeks ago. Looking forward to seeing more from you on here. Melissa 🫶

      I’m 51 and I started my curly journey two years ago. My hair condition is way better and I’ve found some products that I really love. It’s still a work in progress but I’m getting there. I hope you enjoy your curly journey too, good luck ❤❤

    Wow wow wow. I'm not on Instagram or Tiktok so I just found you. Don't know how UA-cam knew I needed a curly girl channel in my recommendations but so glad you appeared! I watched your curly hair hacks and this video and I have to say - my hair looks better than it has in I can't even remember! My curls look fabulous. I just ordered some silk scarves and I think with some more of your videos and more practice, I am going to love my curly hair again!! Thank you ❤

    Hi Sophie. I love your videos. I've only just started going back to be naturally curly last weekend after 11 years of chemically straightening it. My hair is very curly now which I'm loving. Your videos are so helpful. Thank you 😊

    Wow, what a tutorial, very clear instructions with lots of options and I like that you refer to the cheaper options that are available here in the UK. Mumma xx

    Love your videos!! I’m just wondering why you don’t use a heat protector as your final step? I’d think you’d get better protection that way, instead of it layered under other products?

    Thanks the video. I use a satin robe like you use the scarf. It makes such a difference for me. I would recommend wearing a lighter colour in you tops as it helps make your curls pop. Enjoy your videos here and on IG. Happy New Years

      Thank you!! Yes its a game changer isn't it! thanks for your support both on here and on IG. Haha funny you mention - I really wanted to wear a lighter colour top too but they were all in the wash and was worried you weren't going to be able to see the curls enough! Hopefully people still get the gist haha x

    I absolutely love your instagram reels and am looking forward to more UA-cam videos from you ! I usually air dry my curls/ waves but have been debating on purchasing a diffuser. Torn between the shark or dyson 😅. Does heat protectant actually work for your curls ? I’m always concerned about ruining my hair with heat.

      Thank you so much! Really appreciate your support 🥰 shark is almost half the price or less I think! I’ve heard great things. But my main experience is with the dyson and I love it! I remember when I bought it I was like omg I’ve spent too much money but it has become so worth it over the last two years x

      I just bought a shark a couple of months ago and I really like it. It takes half the time of my old dryer and my results are better because of that. I can’t speak to the Dyson because I wasn’t willing to spend that kind of money, so I’m not sure if they’re comparable. I’m happy with my purchase though.

    Hi Sophie...! I also have curly hair, but I should mention that my hair is thick and feels so heavy even after completely dried... The problem is that after I style my hair using mousse, gel, shine serum and hair spray, it looks perfect from the top to the end for some time. But after about an hour or so the root part begins to get straightened. This is driving me crazy af...😥 No matter what I did, I couldn't find a way to fix this. Could you give me some advice please? I'd appreciate it...❤❤

    @sophiemarycurly. Thanks for such a great video. I’m definitely going to try diffusing my layers like you did but what’s the difference in result when you just hover diffuse the layers too?
    Another question that seems to be in debate is that you and many other curlies recommend finishing with an oil to seal everything in but someone else I follow says that oils prevent hair from getting moisture and will dry out hair. So it’s very confusing bc I’m reading total opposite opinions. Gabrielle (curlmaven ) doesn’t believe in the finishing oils . I’m confused why there’s such a difference in opinion. Xoxo

      @sophiemariecurly  Рік тому +1

      Thanks so much for your comment :) I am so glad you enjoyed the video and found it helpful! This is an interesting point re:sealing with oils. Let me break down my thoughts below:
      So firstly, it is a fact ( in a scientific sense) that certain oils (sealant ones) sit on top of the hair, acting as a protective coating which is why they seal in existing moisture vs providing it.
      HOWEVER: this means that whilst sealing oils are so good at trapping moisture in they’re also very good at keeping moisture out. So, it's important to ensure your hair is properly moisturised prior in your styling routine before sealing. IF your hair was overly dry and you hadn't added a curl cream, enough water or moisturising properties etc; then sealing with an oil will keep your hair in its original state ( kind of a like freezing something) Hopefully that makes sense xxx

      @makeupjunkie723 Рік тому

      @@sophiemariecurly yes it makes sense. So how does it work when you try to refresh the next day with water but the day before you put oil to seal ? Will it be a problem to do a wet refresh ?
