@@Whatwillgowrong Well, it's still a good idea to have more stuff for bullets to get stuck on destroying. Though a giant air gap like the Yamato has works just as well so idk...
Considering kinetic penetrating weaponry and the use serial pistons instead of parallel ones for the main propulsion I believe you can just copy the setup you have on your big engine prefab and just use a 3 segment medium boiler rather than the large boilers and have two of the engine's piston inputs facing the back of the ship instead. BUT Looking at the sheer size of the ship, the built in engine redundancy you added, the need to keep stuff as small as possible to avoid vulnerability, and the importance of speed using serial pistons for efficiency may not be the best choice, specially considering the fact the weight is gonna skyrocket when the armor and weapons are reworked ... but then again increasing how much materials the main propulsion eats by an order of magnitude might not be the best idea Also, for making the turning rate just a bit better ... breadboard controlled yaw tilt for the main props ... because seeing a 500m+ long battleship drift it's turns is hilarious
I've been playing around with steam props and I think those steam props will lose thrust as they drain more energy from the crank. Did you remember to set the propulsion steam engines to provide 0 power and set their max RPM to whatever they settle at at full load so they don't waste materials when they're not at full load spinning the crank faster than it will be used?
what is really enticing about big yama, is that is makes it obvious the game is accessable without getting each little thing exactly 'so'. wanna put steam in a box? go for it. it wont work well, but it will still go.

Good to see the good old Yamato getting it's 21st century retrofit!
Indeed will be fun to see the finished result I think (hope)
@@GMODISM I reckon it'll be more fun to test the final result against the in-built craft and our own creations, maybe even two of the fabled Gimle.
bruh you are not harsh, you want to HELP bring others UP to the quality of yourself and others around you
would you add bulkheads to the yamato soon? the ship is basically one giant volume
@@Ghostyusha the ship is designed to be flooded

so when are you going to add the spinal partical cannon?
It’s actually 8x larger, because every dimension is 2x bigger (2x2x2)
You're correct that it's eight times the volume, but the vessel is about twice the size. Scale works on the dimensions of the vessel.
Gotta go fast - yamato 2025
Yamato - Tokyo Drift

hey *wink
how does a yaw tilt work? id like to have my ships stop drifting. I know breadboard.
Why must UA-cam hide this from me for so long?
Well, I've learned something new today... what those huge propeller hangy things under big boats are called... Azipods. 😅
5 million coming at you fast. Lets hope it can turn decently quick now to get those broadsides lined up better.
35:38 it may be possible to use the daisy chain method to get more thrust out of those props instead of using a steam engine
I managed to get it to break 165 m/s!
…with nukes.

This is in the video (incase I did not edit that away by mistake) :)
Hello, in your steam guide, the links in the "Hull Classification Symbols & Mission Type Symbols" section don't work.
what is really enticing about big yama, is that is makes it obvious the game is accessable without getting each little thing exactly 'so'.
wanna put steam in a box? go for it. it wont work well, but it will still go.
Was wondering is it a good idea also include rudder in the front? The same way you added forwards azipods
new planed versions of the yamato had a secondary ruder in front. ^^
If you want some real speed you need to fit that Wave Motion Engine! 😄
Actually... that would be a nice project idea... a 500m hull length insta-kill cannon, just like the anime yamato 😅
Great work! Don't bother with the jet-engines, she's fast enough.
just finished cyberpunk edgerunners i feel like this is a switch up
I hope so, let's make it fastaaa :)
@@GMODISM heck yea
Multiple years of speaking English, and the accent is still the exact same 😭
@Am_fis it's just his accent lol, so don't be mean, just be thankful he is speaking English so we can understand him
