remember when making margarita on the rocks make make sure make sure make sure you make sure you make sure you shake it make sure you shake it in a shaker cup filled with ice and pour it into another cup with clean ice because you want that water it's in the original shaker cup that helps the tequila and sweet and sour mix together that's why he said it's too sweet because he doesn't mix it you need water to help mix the ingredients together
Thank you for your recipe! TIP: You can use a slice of lime to wet the rim of your glass and transfer your margarita salt into a wide hole salt shaker to help salt the rim.. :) Can't wait to try this recipe!
I’m surprised you mentioned the whole dipping into the salt tub thing, since that particular salt tub you bought was made to have the salt be poured into the lid before dipping (I only know because my family buys that particular one). It’s not too sanitary, I admit, but it makes easy clean up after dipping or to allow more salt to be poured without contamination or wetting of the rest of the salt (since humidity, water or heat can ruin spices).
Just a little suggestion, you might want to hold off on the ice before you put salt on the rim of the cup. Use lime(not water) and use the lime on the rim...then you can actually put the cup IN the salt container(which is why it's in a circle container) then you add your ice...
Thank you! I’m in Tennessee quite a bit....love backpacking there! Best of luck with your margaritas tomorrow! Don’t forget the 100% agave tequila and be sure to subscribe and check out my other margarita video too! I have one for frozen margaritas and another for margarita on-the-rock! #margarita
This was awesome thank you. Yes I choose a mix (most people here don't like that) but I needed a video explaining how to do it with a mix... so THANK YOU.
Maria Carhart Thank you! Yeah I usually use less mix than it suggests. Start less sweet with the first one when using good tequila till you tweak it to you individual taste.
Try this 2 oz. Tequila 1 oz. Fresh squeezed lime 1 oz. Orange liquor 1/2 oz. Simple syrup 4 dashes orange bitters. Shake well rub orange or lime juice around half the glass rim strain drink into a frozen cocktail glass. With crushed ice
Salt won't hold germs. Put the salt in a layer on a plate, wet the glass, a clean one, and dip to coat the rim. Never hand a guest a second hand glass, even a solo.
You wet the glass with a lime, not the sink. If you're going to critique, at least be productive, lol. And this guy is making himself one in his house, he's not a bartender serving guests, haha.
Have you tried sauza 901? I am not a tequila connoisseur and didn't know to check if it is 100% agave. Bought the same mix and some of that for this weekend!

In a shaker put 1 shot of mix, 2 shots of Tequila, 1/2 oz of Cointreau, juice from half a lemon, half a lime and half an orange. Add ice and shake vigorously 30 times. Strain into a glass with one large piece of ice. Just do this, than thank me.

That’s be a great preparation too! I’ve found this preparation to work well though and it’s affordable and simple to make. Just don’t add too much of the margarita mix because it will make it too sweet too quickly.
I use it sparingly. Too much means too sweet and that’s why I prefer to make margaritas at home vs. ordering in a restaurant. A margarita should be about quality 100% agave tequila and a little bit of sweetness IMO. Cheers! #margarita
IrixGuy's Adventure Channel Hey man, to each his own! I personally am not a big fan of sour mix as I think it takes away from the tequila and the fresh lime. If you’re willing to give my recipe a try, here’s what I suggest: 1.5 ounces 100% Agave Tequila .75 ounces Freshly Squeezed Lime Juice .75 ounces Cointreau Take some fresh limes, get a hand squeezer (or just use your hands!), and squeeze some fresh lime juice. After that, I prefer to add sugar or simple syrup and stir it in with the lime juice before adding the other ingredients and ice to make sure it dilutes properly. Although adding sugar or simple syrup is not traditional, I personally enjoy it as it cuts the acidity of the lime (which I find to be harsh sometimes). Then, add your tequila and cointreau. Put it all in a shaker with ice, shake, pour, and enjoy! Of course you can add salt to the rim if you like! Anyways, if you get a chance to try this- let me know what you think! Cheers!! P.S. Cabo Wabo is heavily marketed but is a very tasty tequila. I like El Jimador because the quality is excellent and it’s typically less expensive.
Ridiculous. All you need is triple sec and lime, beyond the tequila, so why bother with a mix? And who salts the glass with their fingers?
This is how I do it and I've had no complaints. That preparation sounds simple and delicious though! #tequilla
Why would you use a mixer instead of simple syrup ? And real limes?
This was more convenient and less messy but it’s easy too use too much mix, if bot careful. This stuff is extremely sweet!
