    Excellent you had me at crab , the British use the term "deviled " for something that's spicy ,now mayo,mustard and paprika (and there's a lot of old recipes that include a bit of vinegar) may not seem spicy to us but in 19th century England it was considered highly spiced or deviled. Enjoyed the recipe .

    Hi, deviled eggs are a feature on most of our family snack trays for holidays. I will definitely be adding this to my repertoire. I think they were originally called deviled eggs because they may have been a little spicy. Looking forward to trying this one in a couple of months.

  • @sunfresh79
    @sunfresh79 3 роки тому +2

    The deviled egg can be traced back to ancient Rome, where boiled eggs were seasoned with spicy sauces and served as a starter meal during gatherings and feasts. Serving eggs while entertaining guests was so common for wealthy Romans, they even had a saying for it, “ab ova usque ad mala”, meaning “from eggs to apples”, or from the beginning of a meal to the end. Recipes for hard-boiled eggs stuffed with herbs, cheese and raisins can be found in the cookery texts of medieval European cuisine.

    AB, this was a great presentation! If this recipe ('Crab-Stuffed Deviled Eggs') is a Black/African-American dish or cooking slant, it needs to be given an African name. We have got to preserve our cultural food heritage. Language is the best way to do that. Perhaps you collaborate with other Black chefs and food scholars to create an Afrocentric recipe library and associated catalog.

    Ayy OG a super easy way to crack eggshells is, put them in a plastic or glass cup and literally swirl them at the bottom. The shell will shatter into bits and the egg will remain 100% in-tact!! Takes about 3 seconds per egg, makes 0 mess and it's a real level up!! Try it, I promise you it's literally that easy! Best wishes to you and your family OG!

    I make them all the time but I call them "angel eggs" I don't want nothing to do with the devil. Jesus is risen with all power🙏😇

    Just saw this, and dying to try it! I usually don't measure when I make "naughty eggs", and adding the onion as well as celery and the crab meat is gonna send this to the top as far as I'm concerned. I never got to watch my grandmother cook, but I did watch mama from time to time, and I learned to cut my eggs, as well as potato chunks in my hand as well - actually, I think all the best cooks do it this way 🤭! I usually use Tony Chachere's , but I'm going to have to give the Smokie Joe's a try. Thank you so much for sharing your amazing recipes!!
