Nobody ever mentions the price difference lol like you can get the hellcat pro comp like 150-200 dollars cheaper then the x macro that’s a few mags, or an optic, or a light
And I’d argue after working in both of them while I worked in gun shops… the hellcat has better build quality… the small parts are much less fragil.. macro comp shoots amazing but the build quality of the FCU is shitty imo
Honestly, Sig and Springfield are just having their own little war just between those two. Sig comes out with p365. SF comes out with hellcat. Sig comes out with p365XL. SF comes out with hellcat pro. Sig comes out with macro. SF comes out with hellcat pro comp. Just one upping each other. Glock, canik, walther, ruger, s&w, taurus, etc arent even getting involved in this. They just stopped competing.
@tyshindeldecker7800 ummmm wasnt a big deal to me i have lots of gen 4 glock 17 mags but it comes with 3 and it takes my extendos 33 round mags. Only the people wgo have nothing but gen 5s complain about that. Its still the best glock and better than tour hellcat pro
Hellcat Pro Comp can now be purchased for less than $600. That about half the price of the Sig P365 AXG Legion. I have the non-comped version with a Holosun EPS Carry. I will probably be getting the Hellcat Pro Comp in the near future. Put a MCARBO trigger and titanium striker. It is way better than stock trigger.
@@1stShotTacticalok I know the original hellcat pro was snappy as hell man so would u say this one is more like the x macro far as recoil from you shooting both
I have a Hellcat and I just hit 1700 rounds yesterday since I bought it brand new maybe four or five months ago and I also have not had a single Jam or malfunction, except for the slide not always locking back on the last shot and somebody made a suggestion to me recently that actually makes a lot of sense. He told me that I'm probably pressing my hand against the slide lock lever while I'm holding and shooting the Hellcat and that it's probably preventing it from rising all the way on the last shot to catch the slide, and it made a lot of sense because the slide lock lever is located in a spot where my hand is indeed pressing firmly against the frame while shooting. I'm going to do some experimenting when I take it to the range again next week to see if it has problems locking back if I avoid touching the slide lock lever.
Love this gun can't wait to get mine but I will say this is the 4th video I've seen where it doesn't lock back with the 15rd mag I will probably wait a few months before I get mine to give them time to work that out kinda like the echelon mag problems they had at first
Idk. I do have an OG Hellcat with a PRP trigger in my carry rotation. I do have a pro , but i carry mostly my 43X , and its gonna be real difficult for anything to take the place of my 43X.
the 17 round hellcat mag is actually same grip size as the 17 round x macro. grips are the same without mags in them, but as soon as you put the x macro mag in and the hellcat 15 mag in, the xmacro sticks out further, as the xmacro isnt actually "flush" like the hellcat. also the not locking back on the last round is due to grip, not magazines - the slide lock is in an awkward spot for thumbs forward grip. I think xmacro is smoother to shoot, hellcat is easier to conceal. i have the apex trigger and mcarbo titanium striker kit in the hellcat pro comp and makes it such a nicer trigger. but at that point the xmacro is either the same price or even a little cheaper.. so its a toss up based on personal preference at that point which is better
I have a Hellcat Pro and it locks back on the 15 and 17 round magazines. When my wife shot it with either mag the slide didn’t lock back. We figured out she was riding the slide release. After that she didn’t have a problem with the slide not locking back on an emptied mag.
Nice review. Looks similar to what Patriot CNC and some others have been doing on various guns, though they mill the rifling back behind the port and recrown internally to avoid spalling. Is this Hellcat port milled through the rifling?
Forgive this old guy, but does a compensator affect night vision more than without a compensator? Never tried a firearm in the dark, but looking to get a plain jane Ca compliant Hellcat Pro as my "9" for home defense.
I don't like any subcompact or miniature really much at all so I have low expectations of having fun with any of them. I have stupid palm a basketball gumby fingers so I have to judge smaller pistols on a totally different standard. I do have the Hellcat RDP and placebo or real I don't totally hate it, in fact the sights are so good on Springfield I wish I could put them on all my pistols. The RDP actually shoots pretty nice, I'm not world class by any stretch, just a competent pistol shooter, but almost sure I would have bought this one if it were out when I got the RDP.
Even with my safety engaged there's something nerve racking at my GenX age about having a light trigger on a pistol that is snug with somewhere I never want to get shot whether it's above the right glute or on the appendix. It's not that I don't have a historical familiarity with wearing a holster, don't carry heat all the time, but enough to know I'll probably never be comfortable with a lighter trigger. I understand that nothing will probably happen with the reliability and quality of Sig or Springfield but it's a mental thing that kind of lingers no matter how much I try and convince myself that I'm being stupid.
Great review. One omission in my book… whenever CCW and Comp go together I want so see low light shots. With those short barrels not burning all powder of standard ammo is a thing, and having that shooting up vertically through some hole can be an issue
What I've found helps mitigate recoil the most is just squeezing super tight with your little finger and ring finger on the bottom of the pistol grip, this helps to lock up the wrist mitigating that recoil . Just watching on video i don't see any improvement between either one .
Springfield admitted they made a mistake and owned up to it. Sig won’t admit that whatever model the police use is firing at random. There are plenty of videos on UA-cam about it. Something like 200 people have been shot by holstered Sigs that have a chambered round. That’s a problem. Anyhow here is Springfields statement: “A half hour later on May 1, Springfield Armory made another statement. You can read that entirely on their website. It says that they no longer have confidence in the IFMA and that they have severed all ties with the IFMA effective immediately. ut basically it says that Dennis Reese, CEO of Springfield Armory, was ill-informed of the ramifications of the bill and its effects on the Second Amendment. Try adjusting your grip around the slide lock. You might be accidentally dropping the slide forward with your thumb.

Glocks getting left in the rear view

Adjust your grip on that slide lock error thats what happened to me with mine as well lol👍
I’ll have to give that a try!
It’s it less snappy than regular pro or more along the lines of the x macro by sig ? Far as felt recoil
The Comp definitely helps get rid of about 20%-30% recoil compared to a non-comped gun!
