Because that's what they will be. Immigration accounts for almost all of the UK's population growth which, after all, is why we need more houses in the first place.

I live in a very middle class town in Somerset. Houses here are selling for between £500k and £1.5m within a couple weeks of going on the market. There are new developments being built (with opposition from the Green councillors) but it's all houses over £400k which around here is only a small 3 bedroom semi. The well off in this country have done quite well under the tory leadership, they have plenty of money. It's the working classes who have suffered.
The reality is most people are and I freely admit to being one. I was delighted when my neighbour decided against selling a large building plot, I like my lane with it's 3 houses.

The issue we have is that County Councils are responsible for road infrastructure and even before Labour got in, County Council have been signing off building developments off of country lanes where there isn't enough room for local emergency services that aren't consulted, lanes that don't have enough room for two cars to pass by, let alone wider emergency vehicles. It is " irresponsibility and unprofessionalism" from the county councils.

She married, had two more children, bought her home and has risen through politics by being elected more than once and has become Deputy Prime Minister. The girl who found herself in a very difficult position worked her way to a position of power...I'd say she is a role model for others who find themselves in difficult positions young in life, with a strong message to work hard and run with the opportunities that arise to provide a better life for yourself and your children. @andywilson9150 I do not agree with many of Raynors policy positions. However, the way you just spoke about her says more about you than about her.
Raynor had her first child very young. She continued studying, took a job as a carer, which is a job society needs and worked, taking her opportunities, involving herself in the union and ultimately politics. She married, had two more children, bought her home and has risen through politics by being elected more than once and has become Deputy Prime Minister. The girl who found herself in a very difficult position worked her way to a position of power...I'd say she is a role model for others who find themselves in difficult positions young in life, with a strong message to work hard and run with the opportunities that arise to provide a better life for yourself and your children. I may not agree with her but I admire her for doing well for herself and her family.
I think your comment might have been better directed at Boris as someone who is more than generous with his 'favours' if it was intended as a political 'morality attack'.
