+Ahmed Hassan engine only takes one power wire to run. The sensors use same wires as stock gas engine. Jeffdaniels jeep sells some parts for everything to work.

At 1:56 it seems that the starter stayed engaged after engine start so you turned key to off, then on. Is this Jeep ECU related or a 4bt starter fault?
Through the key it didnt kick back on its own once it started. I later just put a push button start in. Key still had to be turned on to power everything else up.
You probably should have a intercooler your intake air temps must be high with that turbo with out a air to air inter cooler you really should install one on there
Joe Perry no it’s not. It’s not intercooled. But it’s not a big deal at all in a small Jeep. They put 4bts in trucks twice as heavy as a dodge which comes with a 6bt.
Thank you. Where did you get the vehicle speed signal for the TCU ? Noticed you had a Dakota Digital module under the hood. What was that for? In your driving video your original tach works. Aren't you providing an original cadence crankshaft position signal (using aftermarket reluctor ring) to the Jeep ECU for the tach?
Donald Forry I don't think you can with this motor or this new of a Jeep you would have to do a 97 to 06 Jeep with the Cummins new crate motor and for more information on that just look up a new Cummins repower crate motor I think it's a 2.8 they did testing and have that California legal but in an older Jeep

Late to the party here, but the Commander is identical in almost every way to the WK Grand Cherokee. Only difference is the body. Since some WKs came stock with a 3.0 CRD engine I would think that might be an easier swap if you want a diesel. I have a Diesel WK and it is an awesome Jeep. It makes 225 hp and 375 ft lbs of torque. It will literally crawl up anything I point it at. I get around 24mpg highway and that's lifted and on 32s, with a roof basket.

@@user-ii8pl8su7j This setup was with a GM 4L80e transmission with a standalone controller. If you don't want Electronic you can go with the gm TH400 would be best automatic. If you want manual you could do Nv4500.
***** Ah, thanks, I was wondering how you were able to do the conversion with a newer vehicle. Where I live the engine has to pass the vehicles original emission standards of the body. (So no V8 conversions either) This doesn't really matter to me, as the vehicle we are looking at converting is a 1972 J40. Just got to find a 4bt for under 6k now. ;-)

@@brandoncrawford3664 for the motor mounts cut the stock ones off the frame and weld new ones on. I used the ones from Jeff Daniel's jeep content://com.android.chrome.FileProvider/images/screenshot/16074715975744656205602434560513.jpg. for the suspension I added 2" coilspring spacers on the front which made it sit level with the extra weight.
Awesome seeing it in such a new body, great motor in something that isn't beat to hell and has life left to enjoy.

It's a 4BTA, the "A" stands for Aftercooler, integrated into the intake manifold, not as good as an air to air but it helps

Where did you get the tachometer and speed signals for the EZ TCU transmission controller?
Had a cam and crank sensor kit from jeff daniels jeep that gives the tach signal.

Look on ebay for 4bt cummins motor. There is a few guys that sell them. One guy is in southern ohio.
