I think we were robbed of seeing these and a few other designs giving the Dominion back some hurt. Maybe the Ambassador would have been cemented rather than receiving the "not my Ambassador" treatment a certain other design is generating.
Haha that's what you call a narrow escape. I thought Devore ship would wipe the floor with the Ambassador class, but I guess a fine pilot makes all the difference. In VOY Devore was portrayed as an advanced and dangerous race.
The Ambassador is still pretty powerful by the ds9/voy era, its a pitty we didn't see more of the class. I wish we had seen the Devore Warship in action during its only appearance 👍
You finished that on 1% hull :P And you definitely were trying to keep out of it's forward arc, even in a lumbering brute like the Ambassador! That tells me all I need to know. Somehow, I get the feeling the reverse would be more of a margin for the Devore ship. Maybe 40-60% hull left. Or even more. Ambassador is most definitely the underdog here. I stand by what I said, that that thing is a match for the Galaxy/D'Deridex, assuming AI controlled ships on both sides (especially since it's easier to use for the AI). Maybe a tiny little bit too powerful in it's current state. Not much, it looks like an advanced ship, but size-wise, it shouldn't be in that category of power. I'd tone down the weapons power by ~ 15-20% , across the board. And I'd leave the shields and hull as they are. Or... make it a glass cannon! That sleek/stylish design looks like a good candidate for "strong firepower, paper-thin hull" archetype.
Glass cannon is a good idea, I’ll run some ai vs ai matches to see where it falls in it’s current state. I don’t want it to match a Galaxy, it’s more of a mini warbird so it should be somewhat weaker 👍
@@adamlee2111 That's my mind-canon. The more sleek and/or spaced-out a ship looks, the weaker the hull should be, and the more firepower it should have. XD That's why I'm so on board with Cardie ships being tanks, since they look like tanks. Very compacted, utilitarian designs. Logic being that squared-off hull shapes are easier to fortify, and flowing, spaced-out, elegant lines are harder to make structurally sound. By that same notion, I'd like to see Romulan ships in general having weaker hull (compensated by firepower and/or shields, in some cases). Even the D'Deridex (let's be honest, the thing is connected by two paper-thin necks behind the 'beak' section). Also some other species' outliers (K'tinga, BoP, Connie) - basically any hull that has obvious weak points, should be accounted for. I'd even put the Galaxy/Ambassador in that category, given their thin 'neck' segments. In their case, I'd compensate that by increased shielding (specifically dorsal/ventral). Oh, better yet, increased shield regen (again dorsal/ventral). In fact, I'd go a step further, and separate Fed ships into two broad categories; armed explorers, and battle cruisers. Armed explorers (archetype - Galaxy/Ambassador/Connie class) should have weaker hull and stronger shields, and maybe slower torpedo reload, relying more on phasers. Battle Cruisers (archetype - Sovereign/Excelsior/Akira/Miranda class) shoud have stronger hull, average shields, and faster torpedo reload (and more durable subsystems, especially torpedo tubes). All others can fall somewhere in between. Just my 2 cents.
I don't think that could've gotten a whole lot closer. Nicely done.
Wow! I can't believe you somehow won in an ambassador class. Janeway would be impressed lol
Its a sturdy ship! 🙂
Captain Garrett lives on! What spirit!!!
An Ambassador is never ever out of the fight, what a battle! Great replay man 👍👍
Thank you!
Whew. Better limp to a nebula for repairs. I love the Ambassador so much!!
Wow, that was close! Capt Garret would be proud. 🖖
That was highkey nailbiting.
Thank you, that was one of the closest battles I've ever fought!
That was a close one! Awesome, man. 🙂

It would have been nice to see a few here and there in the fleet battles, a few more nebulas would have been great too
@@adamlee2111 Not to mention the "lost" CGI models of the Steamrunner, Saber and Norway class. We dont see those ever again.
@@Gentleman...Driver The Norway in particular was an interesting design, at least the steamrunner and saber got some background appearances
@@adamlee2111 You are right, I looked it up. I hadnt noticed them in the background back in the day.
I would love to see a fleet of them against ds9
Por pouco você não perde. 😮
Keep going through the different classes, sovereign, galaxy, akira etc
I'm guessing that was a stock ambassador. Brutality. Definitely a tank.
Your next order will be to abandon ship...that Ambassador will not sustain the crew with all that damage. 😉
😂

Try it with a Galaxy class. ❤
That will be fun 😁

@@necroticavalon5176 thats interesting, I might have to nudge the ships in that direction 🤔
