Honda Element Camper Test Run - It's Better Than Expected
Вставка
- Опубліковано 5 жов 2024
- In this video, I take the Element on an overnight camping trip as a test for a few things. First, I wanted to see if it was feasible to use it as a micro camper. I also wanted to see how I felt about driving a very long distance to keep up with my Gracie Jiu Jitsu gyms. This vlog is all over the place as I'm still getting back into vlogging.

Don’t care if blog is “all over the place”…….it’s just good to hear from you!
Thanks for the kind words, it helps with the motivation :-)
Life is all over the place… it’s real and appreciated.
All over the place is great. So much to cover.
Can’t wait to see more. The element camper, whoot, whoot.
I’ve seen some awesome Element builds, can’t wait to see what you do with yours!
The look on Linnea face was priceless when you caught her off guard. Video was good, keep it up
Linnea looks so gorgeous in her summer dress with her hair swept to the side 😍, awesome healthy hobbies, better than going to a bar and drinking alcohol to 2am☺️
Totally agree on all counts :-)
Sooo excited for the Lands water connection 😊. Water is essential!!
100%
Honda Elements are great. And who cares if the video is all over the place! I’ll watch! Love you guys!
Have been watching you for a long time and will continue b/c I am drawn to the all over the place. That is life.
All over the place is just life. Enjoyable to watch. Glad you are back!😂
Everything you do as far as content creation is just wonderful-always.
Thank you :-)
I have an AWD 03 E since new, I would love to see what you come up with. Love the format of the blog and the different topics.
Your doing fine still a good video n can't wait for the next one to see what you 4 have been doing at the land so exciting
Like the raw blog the most thanks for the real blog it is not easy I am sure I look forward to more
Take care of yourself and enjoy
I love “all over the place”! It was still a great video… much love to the both of you and the pups as well
Don't worry about forgetting to film specific things. We enjoy being along for the ride either way. I think vlogging vs a planned out video is deceptively more difficult than most realize. Especially if you're out of the routine for a while. Glad you got to have a good magic night and take your classes. Hopefully you will figure out a way to do it that works for you. Maybe 2 nights every other week? It's just so important to do things that you really enjoy outside of work/home life.
Thanks for the kind words!
That music sounds a lot like an OLD Michael Franti tune.i love your Vlogs.
Thanks for watching!
Love the pop up tents you can get for elements.
On the list :-)
Good video, if you hadn't said anything about gaps we would have never known.
You're already way more comfortable in front of the camera. Soon you'll just be you 😊 So excited about the water!!!!
I'm sure opportunities will present closer to you guys but flip side is a little trip each week or every other can really keep life on the land happiest. My observation was you tried to do too much. Cut the activities in half for the same amount of time with lots of room for socializing and you can't go wrong. Camera on wide in the background is all you need to do and only a bit. Vlog if you want or not, it's important doing things that bring you joy and I think others need to know they can do it too.
So true, thanks for the kind words!
Some days be that way, glad you had a good trip.
Love watching any videos with you or Linnea in them💖
Hey Chris we don't care if it's "all over the place" - it's just great to catch up with you. Fantastic to see how green the land is at the moment 🦋
Glad you enjoyed it!
Great video…enjoy all your adventures!
If you were closer to the town.....a Rokon trail bike would be ideal. Great for backcountry fishing, too. I think they get over 100 miles per gallon. The draw back is the 30 - 35 mph top speed.
The Oro Valley Rust Bucket
Have you considered a camper top tent for the Element or doing a pop-top conversion Kit, or would you rather just keep as is? Either way, those little cars are cool 🙂
Yeah, the pop top is something I have seriously considered. Getting it ready for more back country stuff first and developing from there.
Starting to enjoy your lil catch ups!
Glad you enjoy them :-)
I enjoyed it. Like a day in the life type video.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Looking forward to seeing an Element build. I have a CRV and it’s just not the right shape. 28-30 mpg is nice in the CRV but the extra space is nicer.
Yes I have one i can't wait to see your build.. give me some ideas.i miss your pod cast. I'm looking your videos i know all the work you have put into making a video. You have good kack for it easy to listen to and watch.
We are planning on doing one soon :-)
Ohhhh, I can’t wait to see what you do with the element!!! Once I have my knees replaced, I’m thinking something small like that would be a good place to start for some solo camping adventures!
Great idea!!
I think the Element will be a fun build, good design. When the Element came out they had the custom fit clam shell. Probably some still around. The back top skylight comes off by squeezing the two tabs lifting and the front tabs just slide back and free, beyond easy. I never understood why Honda stopped making them in the height of their popularity. The next year after Honda canceled production, Ford came out with their Explorer model which was just a lookalike Element wannabe. And now the Ford Bronco which looks like a miniature Element. I have put thousands of miles on my Elements. The only issue was at around 130 thousand I had to change the differential oil due to a clicking sound. Honda has really tight tolerances and needs clean oils. Wouldn't hesitate to buy another one. BEYOND OUTSTANDING PERFORMANCE.
I thought the same thing about the Bronco. And thanks for the heads up on the Skylight, I never knew that!
I have a 2007 element which I bought in Nov 2006. It only had 7 miles on it, now it has 450k+...for a couple of years I never changed the engine oil 🛢 😅 nor any of the other oils.
I used and abused it, I wanted it to die cause I wanted to get a new car. That was several yrs ago and I'm still driving it to this day.
It still drives like a new car and have only done basic maintenance on it. So I would say that NO, Honda doesn't need tight tolerances nor clean oils, at least my Element doesn't.
A couple of months ago I went to the Honda dealer to look at the new Hondas and the salesman wanted to buy my Element 😮😊😅😂
No worries...keep on keeping on...
Very nice Element. I was just looking into those window shades, they don’t come with the front windshield cover. You can get it for the moonroof too. Happy travels
Yeah, learned that the hard way :-)
Great video chris❤
Thank you 😁
I recognize that Mule sticker anywhere, I have waaay too many. 😆
Love the Element!! I wish they would bring it back!! I got an old style CR-V instead due to needing a full backseat for pet carrier. I should have requested an Element after the hail total out on my first CR-V (soft ball sized hail) but I wasn’t thinking!! Everything in the area was totaled so you just took what ever vehicle you could get and it was another CR-V but the redesign which I don’t like!! Got a Subie now and it’s way better!!💙💙💙 (and this one is blue 4Ocean!!)
What are you guys going to do for your home gym?? I could envision a whole season porch style build out off the side of your shipping container but yeah, don’t know what you are planning?? At least something that keeps the spiders, snakes, and pack rats out of your gym!!
Safe travels!!👫🐕🐕❤
The home gym is going to be in the next vlog :-) If my Element got hail damage I would just take all the repair money and totally trick this thing out!
@@theoffgridskoolie guys can do all of that mechanical stuff!! I was working as a nurse at a local hospital and needed my transportation!! Softball sized hail can do some damage!! I still should have requested an Element to replace my first CR-V!! Tali liked riding in the front seat anyways!! Linnea could probably do a good job of fixing up a vehicle!! That girl is fearless!! I have a brother that can do all kinds of things to vehicles. He puts jet engine parts on things and airplane switches to start up pickup trucks, it’s crazy!! He’s a total Motörhead!!
Had my Element for 20 years its the best in so many ways....i trust it the most of my vehicles.
Yeah, I trust this car so much!
Chris, i think you would enjoy Qi Gong. Breathing and movement to nourish your energy..
Honda Element and MTG...instant subscribe!
I know how you feel when you found a martial arts studio that you truly like! My husband and I drove once a week 2 hours one way to attend 2 hours of class then drive 2 hours home for 10 years.
Yeah, before It wouldn't make sense to do that, now I get it.
Good video!
You have. so much to share.. Doesn't matter how you do oty..
What are those circular vegetation patches seen in the overview footage? Are those remnants of something or?
This was a homestead many many years ago. Also, the soil is very lush here :-)
Have you ever had dreads before? And how many miles to gallon does the vehicle get?
Nope, first time! And around 23 mpg
Was the heat a factor sleeping in the element?
Not bad at all. I was at around 7k feet so the evenings were cold.
Your momma said hi
You know me it isn't quality it's quantity always enjoy your like one of my 40-year-old kids
Thanks for the kind words!
I pinch!
what state did they get land in?
Colorado.
The Element is such a cool camper platform. That build project will be fun to follow. Why did they have to stop making those cool cars!? ✌️❤️🚐
